US Capitol breached

Was wondering about the troves of incriminating content on Parler, what would become of it when the site went offline. Looks like someone made sure it would be available for law enforcement to carry out their investigations. It seems the good folks running Parler didn't do anyone any favors the way they handled their data. Ouch.

Scraped Parler data is a metadata gold mine

Embattled social media platform Parler is offline after Apple, Google and Amazon pulled the plug on the site after the violent riot at the U.S. Capitol last week that left five people dead.

But while the site is gone (for now), millions of posts published to the site since the riot are not.

A lone hacker scraped millions of posts, videos and photos published to the site after the riot but before the site went offline on Monday, preserving a huge trove of potential evidence for law enforcement investigating the attempted insurrection by many who allegedly used the platform to plan and coordinate the breach of the Capitol.

The hacker and internet archivist, who goes by the online handle @donk_enby, scraped the social network and uploaded copies to the Internet Archive, which hosts old and historical versions of web pages.

In a tweet, @donk_enby said she scraped data from Parler that included deleted and private posts, and the videos contained “all associated metadata.”

Metadata is information about a file — such as when it was made and on what device. This information is usually embedded in the file itself. The scraped videos from Parler appear to also include the precise location data of where the videos were taken. That metadata could be a gold mine of evidence for authorities investigating the Capitol riot, which may tie some rioters to their Parler accounts or help police unmask rioters based on their location data.

Most web services remove metadata when you upload your photos and videos, but Parler apparently didn’t.

Parler quickly became the social network of choice after President Trump was deplatformed from Twitter and Facebook for inciting the riot on January 6. But the tech giants said Parler violated their rules by not having a content moderation policy — which is what drew many users to the site.

Many of the posts made calls to “burn down [Washington] D.C.,” while others called for violence and the execution of Vice President Mike Pence.

Already several rioters have been arrested and charged with breaking into the Capitol building. Many of the rioters weren’t wearing masks (the pandemic notwithstanding), making it easier for them to be identified. But thanks to Parler’s own security blunder, many more could soon face an unwelcome knock at the door.

Another event that has nothing to do with Trump (not) inciting a violent insurrection at the Capitol. Probably just more power-hungry libs randomly finding ways to keep conservatives down.

Can somebody please post the direct quote from Trump's speech where he called for violence?

Nope. It’s been well established on the board that Trump had zero connection to the events at the Capitol on the 6th. His weeks of incessant tweets about disproved voter fraud, his call for his supporters to fight and to ‘stop the steal,’ his rally to whip the maga base into a frenzy and call for pressuring Pence to overturn States votes, none of that had anything to do with what transpired at the Capitol. That all happened in a vacuum, completely removed from Trump and anything he said or did. And to state so otherwise, makes you a card-carrying communist, as we have learned in this thread.

I see. So you're stating the recent banning of Trump from across all social media platforms has absolutely nothing to do with:

1. the content of his tweets,
2. the repeated warnings he recieved, or
3. the storming of the Capitol on January 6th.

It is solely a totalitarian move by power-hungry liberal owners and management of social media companies to kick Trump to the curb as a form of supressing the views and opinions of conservatives and Republicans.

Ok, I think you've made it clear what your views are on this. I respectfully disagree, as I outlined in my earlier response.

You continue to overlook the fact that Twitter banning Trump goes far beyond Trump himself. Let's say I agree with your premise (I vehemently do not, because what you say he is accused of is patently false).

So how do you explain all of the others who have been banned for their Conservative speech (not hate speech, not violent rhetoric)? The tens of thousands of followers that have been stripped from Conservative voices there?

You continue to try to deny that Big Tech is enacting a Germany-Nazi-like silencing of voices they disagree with. It is in fact happening. There is no denying this. Robert Woods, and on down the damned line.

ABC calls for a "purge" and a "cleansing." Words that eerily remind us of Nazi Germany. Your dear leaders are making "lists" of Republicans (citizens and politicians) they aim to attack and silence.

You are A-OK with this.

You've earned the nickname Commie. Because you simply support Communist principles. You do not support the Constitution and our Rights. Period.

Please don't respond and say you do. You don't.

Should be pretty easy to find the quote where he called for violence then. Let me know when you find it.

Tibs still pushing the commie gaslighting.

The media seems to be hanging their hat on the part where Trump said “fight like hell.” It is the one part of his speech I have seen mentioned repeatedly, so I’m guessing that’s it? I don’t know.

As you have stated, this impacts just regular people who want to express their thoughts and feelings. It is just completely wrong.

I saw Jason Whitlock the other night. He made a great observation, maybe it was expressed here already. Anyway, he stated that Democrats, Big Tech, Big Business...they are punching down. They are coming after little people, people with limited impact or power. One of Trump's great appeals is that he never did that, he punched at his level or even up. He never punched down.

The libtards are turning into book burning nazis with their censorship. I hope Parler makes it back. In the meantime, there's another free speech, uncensored site called Gab. They grew more than 700% over the weekend.

Comrade Tibs has been asked several times to post it, but of course never does, cause he can't. Just like he ignores all the witter messages found that promote murder and violence.

CCP propaganda accounts are still active on Twitter, wouldn't surprise me if the Biden family was running some of them, I heard China pays them quite well.

That's as easy to find as the time he said we should drink disinfectant.
He didn’t suggest we should drink it,
"And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning, because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that, so that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute. That’s pretty powerful."

Unfortunately Gab is running very slow even though they've purchased many servers to keep up with the surge of new members. They are buying even more so things should be back to normal shortly and good luck at shutting them down, they own the servers.

YES HE DID!!!!

if the Libs and Big Tech can shut down Parler in a matter of days, why can't they shut down the kiddie porn internet industry?

Because they have skin in that game?

This is worth a look, for those wandering aimlessly in the middle of the desert, your throats parched, your skin cracking from the sun, searching for some semblence of causation between Trump's speech and the events that followed at the Capitol.

This may end up being the biggest blow to Trump yet. His long-time bank, the murky & nefarious Deutsche Bank abruptly cutting ties, with all that massive outstanding debt? This may be more of a blow than impeachment, or getting kicked off Twitter or the PGA ****-canning the contract w his golf courses. I would hate to be a piece of furniture or electronic device anywhere near Trump right now, as it'd likely be thrown through a window.

The media seems to be hanging their hat on the part where Trump said “fight like hell.” It is the one part of his speech I have seen mentioned repeatedly, so I’m guessing that’s it? I don’t know.

Those ARE the words they say incited the riot. Those are the exact words they point to, I've just been waiting for Tibs to say it (he refuses).

When a Conservative uses the word "fight" it's worthy of inciting a riot apparently. They forget however that every political leader EVER has used the words fight in their speeches and no one takes them literally.

Was it ok for Obama in 2012 at a Moving America Forward Rally to cheer on thousands saying "I need you to keep on fighting!"?

At another rally, Obama exclaimed "Today we FIGHT for change!"

It was ok for Obama to state, regarding Kaepernick, "We fight sometimes so that people can do things that we disagree with."

In 2018, it was ok for Obama, when speaking against Trump, to say "but when you put your shoulder to the wheel, if you’re willing to fight for it, things do get better." and "Do not let people tell you the fight’s not worth it, because you won’t get everything that you want. The idea that, well, there’s racism in America, so I’m not going to bother voting, no point—that makes no sense. You can make it better. Better’s always worth fighting for. "?

I guess every piece of violence that resulted after these comments should have been blamed on Obama inciting them. Like Michah Johnson, killing 5 police officers in the spirit of BLM, which Obama riled up with his rhetoric.

It was ok for Maxine Waters to state "“Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere." when telling her followers to go after Trump administration officials.

THAT isn't inciteful...but Trump said Fight Like Hell and by God he caused a ******* insurrection.

We are dealing with monumental idiots.

From The Washington Compost article you linked to:

"Trump’s speech included no overt calls for his supporters to actually enter the Capitol or resort to violent means."
