We All Know Tomlin Won't Get Fired -- How About This...?

Yes, lets concentrate on what might happen. Will Canada be back??? Will Butler be back???
Will Claypool grow up? Will tik tok die?
Will players go the way of bitcoin and pesos and kill the almighty USD? Why is pepsi compared to Coke? So many questions, so little time.

Actually I think Tomlin deserves credit for keeping those teams as competitive as they were with those 2 idiots. I think just about anyplace else they destroy a team a lot quicker.
So when Brady and Tampa Bay make it to and likely win this year's SB with Brown and Bell on the roster, what will you think then?

I see what Jack is saying in that no matter who gets fired, as long as Tomlin is here, nothing changes. I think by now we are all well aware of that and we're also well aware that Shades is going nowhere unless he wants to leave. And why would he when the seat never gets warm and mediocrity seems to be the standard nowadays. You guys remember after the home playoff loss to the Jags a few years back when some of the minority owners wanted Tomlin replaced. I don't know which ones, if it was David Tepper now the owner of the Panthers, I don't know, but I thought that was a huge indictment against Tomlin by minority owners. People that have money in the organization and not just fans like us, for them to voice their displeasure about the coach. Of course Art makes those decisions and as long as he's on board with Tomlin, that scenario ain't changing.

Beating a dead horse here, but Tomlin will leave when chooses, and any assistants let go will be replaced by someone equally incompetent.

You mean the playoff loss when a RB from hot humid weather they said couldn’t run in the cold weather destroyed us and put up a HUGE game?

Tomlin sure did have his team ready that day..

If not after the Jaguars loss, he should have been fired after the utter disaster of a season that followed it in 2018.

Failing to make the playoffs after a 7-2-1 start with AB's meltdown putting the ******* cherry on top.

Tomlin pretty much said it himself when he went off on the reporter who asked about the USC job.

He'd be crazy to leave a job where he makes a ton of money and has no apparent pressure on him to win a championship.

Just stay semi relevant into late December and he's golden.

And correct me if I’m wrong, but Tomlin’s RB, who was accustomed to the cold weather, was unable to do **** that same day. The following season Tomlin failed to get that same guy to show up for work at all. A player’s coach, my ***.

Oh if the fire gets hot enough he will go. The noise is getting louder with each passing week with another all around **** show showing.

I hear Alabama has a great HC gig opening up.

50 shades of Tomlin: Obviously going nowhere

So completely different you can't compare. Bell is humbled. He is just happy at this point to have employment. Brown also knows that when Evans and Goodwin and Gronk are healthy, he just isn't that damn important.

They were in their prime in Pittsburgh.

Humbled? Bell just said in an interview last week that he has no regrets sitting out the season that he did. He said his only regret was talking about it. Is that humble of him?

As far as Brown, how often are all 3 of the guys that you mentioned healthy? And let’s be real, did you really see Arians kicking Brown to the curb right before a probable SB run? Brown can do as he pleases. As long as the NFL isn’t taking disciplinary action, no competitive team will be.

Tomlin wasn’t capable of maximizing Brown and Bell’s talents. Other teams with coaches who are actually leaders will be able to. Sad but true .

I disagree. He maximized their talent for sure. Neither has approached what they did in Pittsburgh. Bell will never come remotely close, who knows with Brown if the dumbass ever plays a full season again.

Look, I am not arguing that Tomlin should stay. I think they need to move on. But I just keep it at the evidence I can clearly see and no one can dispute, like that lack of competing yesterday.

Bell definitely wasn't humbled and I believe he blamed Andy Reid for his lack of production. However, that's ridiculous to say Tomlin wasn't capable of maximizing Brown's and Bell's talents. Brown was widely recognized as the best WR in the league with the Steelers and talked about as one of the best ever. Bell was called the best running back in the league.

Bell has 1,797 all-purpose yards and 8 touchdowns in three seasons (and four teams) since leaving Pittsburgh. By comparison, he averaged 1,599 all-purpose yards and 8.4 touchdowns PER YEAR with the Steelers.

In three years outside of Pittsburgh, Brown has 88 receptions for 1,058 yards and 9 touchdowns (three different teams) while he averaged 93 receptions for 1,245 yards and 8 touchdowns per year with the Steelers.

One of those "2 idiots" has exactly 1 more Super Bowl ring than Tomlin does over the last 13 seasons. And, unlike Tomlin, they both have a legitimate shot at winning a championship this year.

But, yeah, he deserves credit for simply keeping the Steelers "competitive" when he had them both in Pittsburgh in the primes of their careers. What a foolish statement.

It's not a foolish statement. They are/were both incredibly talented players, but also incredibly me first. Over the years there are plenty of examples of players like them who have, even though very talented, really sabotaged their teams ability to win. Terrell Owens comes to mind. And I maintain that Tomlin deserves some credit for keeping those teams form becoming total messes with those guys, again thinking about what happened with Terrell Owens in Philly and Dallas in particular. Those two teams ultimately with Owens bottomed out...Philly went 6-10 his last year, the Cowboys went to 9-7 and out of the playoffs his last 2 years there.

Bell winning a championship down there would be like you or me claiming to win one with Tampa Bay. Gimme a break. He is as much of a factor on that team as you and I are. Maybe that will change, but as it stands...

Look, I will keep saying it. I want Tomlin gone. It is time to move on. But stop making dumb arguments to support your position. You don't need to. What we see on the field week in and week out should be enough.

Mine is not a dumb argument. I'm contending that Tomlin should have done more with the production on the field from Bell and Brown. He accomplished nothing with both of those guys at the height of their careers WITH a future Hall of Fame quarterback.

Your argument is indeed foolish, because you contradict yourself when you acknowledge that both of those guys were in their prime under Tomlin. Simply keeping the team from becoming a "total mess" didn't really add up to jack ****, did it? But Tomlin deserves credit for it? Give me a ******* break.

The NFL is filled with me-first players. So what? AB isn't sabotaging **** in Tampa Bay. He helped them win the Super Bowl last year, and just had another 10-catch, 100-yard game last week. You think Arians gives a **** what kind of person Brown is off the field? LOL.

I mean if you believe that Tomlin has been more or less running the defense then yes he is at fault, because the offense was kick *** and the defense was a mess despite a ton of draft picks being spent on it…

Just my opinion, but Tomlin covers his *** by saying 100 meaningless words when 2 or 3 specific words would suffice.
For that, some think he's a genius.

I would bet that Rooney noticed when CBS cut to a different, " more competitive " game.

TV time is big money. When a network is willing to cut off your game for something else translates to advertising dollars.

Rooney knows dollars. He likes dollars. That might sway his thinking.

And by the way, one of the minority owners who wanted to replace Tomlin was John Stallwoth.

1) eventually
2) not in the near future
3)possibly but some / most players can't grasp exchange value
4)answer with a question ...... what's the difference between nigh & day......................
5)time is in essence, any a day may past yet still in the same place in time...................................... read on

I once took a short walk, barefoot in the snow. I experienced butterflys and honey bees with nector to drink. Soon a cricket told me I should be wearing shoes and quite possibly socks, black and gold. I soon found myself in a dark room but just for a moment as the candle was lit. Players started playing with athourity and knew how to tackle. The foosaball team came to play and W's clamored, soon to play after season was over. Then the light shined and shined, seachicken fans with feathers tried to dampen the light with no avail.........The LIGHT shined through

I was consious to think about this experience and realized I had been in my spirit world and multipe weeks have passed.........I thought long and hard as to what the translation of my journey would be............. in light

I realize it just takes a candle, the root of all things is a single candle that can be lit.

So inclosing my dear friend MTC, pick up a single, plain candle of any color / monetary value / size / shape / and realize that while you were getting that candle you should have picked up matches...................???

Sure, that too. And Tomlin's failures were never more apparent than in the 2017 playoffs, during another postseason loss at home as a big favorite, 45-42 to a Jacksonville team led by Blake Bortles. A game in which Bell had 155 yards from scrimmage and 2 touchdowns, while Brown compiled 132 yards receiving with 2 touchdowns. I guess diver would somehow blame that loss on their me-first attitudes.

Can ice cream be eaten without a spoon?
Excluding ice cream sandwiches, chaco tacos etc.

Yes they were in their prime. They were also Mr. Big Chest and Bell was rapping and smoking weed and getting caught and all that. I'm sorry, but like Mike Singletary said years ago, you ain't winning with those kind of guys. I feel Tomlin took those teams, with those guys they way they were at that time, as far as they were gonna go. Upon reflection, the Steelers should have traded those two guys when the value was the highest. Now, had you said that to me then, I would have said you are nuts, in all honesty. But with their selfishness I don't think winning was ever all that important to them.

Brown sure as hell ain't Mr. Big Chest anymore...he knows that. At least he still has talent. Bell, ****. Comparing those guys now what they were is dumb. Totally different situations.

And, dammit, I'm not saying this because I support Tomlin. He's gotta go.
