We need a new Head Coach.......FIRE TOMLIN NOW!!!

When Lewis left, if memory serves correctly, while we all were somewhat worried about the future, we trusted that the coaches, and our own eyeballs, suggested Cortez Allen (albeit not from a high-caliber NCAA school) was on par with the talent Lewis demonstrated - and it was more frugal to let Lewis leave since we had pretty much the same guy in Allen. Now, we have some whiny ******* crying how we let Lewis leave and always "without a contract offer". Well, is it also possible that Lewis was either a ******* prick in the locker room (despite this not being made public), or that maybe Lewis told the staff he wanted to play closer to home - which is where he signed? Or maybe a combination of the two? Nah. the current coaching staff just hasn't a goddamn clue what they're doing, so they're winging it left and right.

Sounds. Legit.

It must have been that same astute coaching staff that recommended handing Cortez a 6-mill a year deal with almost 7 mill guaranteed right before this season started, and now finally has him riding the pine after weeks and weeks of being the WORST qualifying cornerback in the NFL.

Conspiracy theories about Lewis being "a ******* prick" in the locker room sound much more legit. LOL.

To some, "Tomlin's stats" consist of won-loss record. That's it. Seriously.

I find it incredibly amusing that you VEHEMENTLY disagreed with me that a win/loss record is much more due to players and Coordinators than it is Head Coach, then all of a sudden mysteriously take on that EXACT stance when Tomlin's win/loss is posted by saying that there are lots of other factors involved in wins/losses, other than the Head Coach. In fact you thought it was a ridiculous argument. You and a few others acted insulted that I didn't think the Head Coach was the most important factor in winning games.

Lol, wait a minute here....wasn't this my exact argument that me got absolutely lambasted and labeled me a Tomlin lover by you? You are a freakin' trip. Whatever flip flop suits you on any given day I guess. But good to know that you have come around to my exact opinion that you originally made me out to be a moron for having.

There's a huge difference between that and a head coach just being paid to do press conferences, which is what you basically implied.

To think head coaches do not play significant roles in game preparation and personnel decisions takes a special level of delusion, but that's just my opinion.

Twist my words into whatever you want them to be. It suits your little vendetta. But you know good and well that what I'm railing against here is the idea that a coach should get SOLE credit for wins (especially when cheerleaders like you absolve him for every loss).

In your mind, there can only be extremes. I think Tomlin is amazing or I want him fired and shot. Head coaches determine W/L entirely or they only give press conferences. There's no allowance in your head for anything in the middle.

POT meet KETTLE

Poorly coached team is about to lose to a 4-7 team, typical Tomlin, another nail in his coffin.

We're now the ONLY AFCN team to lose to an NFCN team all season.

And we've done it twice.

Both times at home.

To teams who were a combined 4-11.

Another epic game against a powerhouse team..haha. It's sad. At least i am at the point that i am 100% sure this team isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

I will not watch this mediocre product anymore this season. What a ******* disgrace.

Screw it. Fire Tomlin ... Not for the record against losing teams. Not because some think he's lost the team. Not for any of the reasons spouted. Fire Tomlin because this team doesn't pass the eye or smell test. They look disjointed and uninterested. Fire Tomlin because as a long time fan (my entire life), they are making it so that I am becoming disinterested. Fire Tomlin because maybe this team needs to be shaken up to have a sense of urgency. Fire Tomlin because sometimes a fresh perspective is needed.

And have him take Colbert, Lebeau and Haley with him.

I'll say it again...there is only one reason he is a head coach in the NFL...and it has nothing to do with football!!
Good job Rooneys!

Ohhh man, not this crap again. And please, if you're going to insinuate it .. have the balls to actually "SAY" it.

And yes. Fire Tomlin. Not because of his race, but because it's probably just time.

The only thing that makes it a legit question is the fact that we interviewed NO ONE but Tomlin and Grimm. One of the most coveted coaching jobs in all of sports, so we interview our o-line coach, then hire the only other guy.

Not what I'd call an exhaustive search. And as we can see now, he certainly didn't blow anyone's socks off with his experience or brilliant Xs and Os or motivational tactics.

Ahhh, but it's not presented as a question. It's stated as a FACT. When the truth is that no one knows if that was the reason. Pure speculation.

Well, sure. It's ignorant to say that's DEFINITIVELY the reason he was hired. Just that we can see now he brings nothing to the table, and it's puzzling we didn't consider anyone else.

Welcome to the club, brother. There's spiked punch and appetizers in the back.

Right, we gave an unknown coach with a thin resume and the worst pass defense in the NFL in his one year as a DC the job on merit, LMFAO

All I can say is that I've had my fill. Punx wrote in the other thread that it's like slowly sinking in quicksand. He hit the nail on the head.

Okay, fair enough. And I agree that it is really impossible to read Rooney's mind to the point we know the reasons for the hire.

But to those critical of the hire, and who ask, "What did Tomlin bring to the interview to make him such a great candidate that he was hired with basically no other candidate being interviewed?", what do I say in response?

One year as a DC, with a pretty bad showing at that? What?

They also interviewed Rivera. He was a minority as well.
