I really do not want Worilds back at any price, but what other options do we have. The NT position is average. I have seen no improvement from Jarvis Jones. We need two cornerbacks. I am not sure Thomas is the answer at SS. Having said all that. No rookie will help this defense next year. Hell, we may not get much from our second year draftees. The defense is just too hard to learn. The only way that I can see our defense getting better in one year, is to get rid of Lebeau.

Other top DC just seem to get more out of younger inexperienced players. Maybe I should be pointing the finger at the GM also. Our OL is still not performing at a dominant level in the run game. Bell's style of running makes them look better than they really are. We did make it to the playoffs, though I doubt we would have without Harrison. We need a lot of help. A lot of our young guys still have huge question marks next to their name..I am sick..

Cut Mitchell for starters.

I think the list of people you keep is gonna be shorter .

I hate to say it but I think it's gonna get worse before it gets better when it comes to our Defense.....veteran guys like Harrison, Keisel, Polamalu & Taylor will all be gone...IMO. Sad to see them go! They were great Steelers!

Well there will be the offseason discussion with LeBeau.....so that'll be a hot topic...at some point the Steelers will need to move on...the question is do they keep the 3-4 Defense?

Mike Mitchell should be given his walking papers he's just terrible!

Ike Taylor & Troy Polamalu I love these guys Troy's a HoF'er.....hate to say it but IMO it's best to cut ties with both of them

Jason Worilds.....not worth the $$$....he's not an explosive outside pass rusher.

Jarvis Jones - Another year towards B-U-?-?........hasn't shown much in two seasons now.

Ryan Shazier.....I almost consider moving this guy to the LOLB position....he's too fast to not take advantage of his speed and strength.

We need to see what we have in young guys like Jordan Zumwaldt

Steelers need to draft an OLB or DB or Safety in the first two possibly three rounds.

I think a guy like Rex Ryan is worth talking to if they do decide to part with LeBeau as DC.

No blame for head coach on the sudden inept defensive drafting? All on the 'gm'?

If they could get Rex for d coord, I'd be down for that

Given that winning the division has ensured Tomlin and Colbert eternal job security at their respective positions, what can really be done?

The offense has not scored enough for a month now, and the defense sucks, but the arrow is pointing up, I suppose.

Where would they have been without 90-year-old Deebo this season?

Whomever is responsible gets the blame. I have loyalty to no one. All I want is another Lombardi.

Ryan will be a head coach. Even if he did not get a HC job, how long would you expect him to stay in Pittsburgh?

I think (hope) we see most of the old guard retire..Troy, Ike, Keisel and I think this is an opening for Dick LeBeau to bow out. Keith Butler has been the DC in waiting for years, so i expect the transition to be relatively smooth.

Find two safeties and another corner....find at least on OLB who can get consistent pressure on the QB, find a solid back up for Bell (maybe have it in tate?)

Fire Tomlin. Start over with the D. It will be a long haul to overcome 8 years of piss poor defensive talent evaluation. I've never seen a worse "defensive guy" miss on more defensive draft picks. What a ******* joke.

Exactly what I'm afraid of

The current regime tried all that with Cortez Allen, Mike Mitchell, Jarvis Jones, Jason Worilds and Legarrette Blount.

It's time for a new GM, at the VERY least,

Fire Tomlin and his 5 playoff wins in 8 years, that's a huge upgrade right there

This is a team in transition, we were lucky to get as far as we did. Neither safety made a play today, and they made multiple mistakes. Between the safeties and Bell missing, that is the game.

Mitchell was a Band-Aid, that didn't stick. He sucked all year. Cut him.
Troy, Harrison, Kiesel, and Taylor are all done. Harrison showed the fight all year that made him great, but I don't see it happening again next year. The 4 remaining from previous SB runs, will not be here next year.

Williams, Spence, Shazier, Tuit, McCain, and Blake all showed improvement.
Jones and Worlds should be cut.

Pass rushers and DB's are top priorities.

Both Wheaton and Bryant showed some amazing progress and poise tonight. Next year, they both breakout. Offense will be ok next year.

What he said. And maybe find a young QB who be the eventual replacement for Ben.

how about collectively fellating Roger Goodell and the NFL PR department?

this isn't football, this is some kinda gambling and ratings game show.

I didn't say they would find them...I said that is what they needed to find.....

Unless we draft a NT that will have sure fire 10 year career like Casey Hampton, can the 3 - 4. The defence is in transition and now is as good a time as any to change.

might have to draft a prospect LT since Beachum got owned tonight....I love #68 but he was having a hard time at LT hell so was our RT....top priority will be safety, pass rushing specialist and top tier DBs either thru the draft or threw free agency.....
let woirlds walk .....re-sign Moats move him to ROLB or let williams play OLB ....talk James to come back for 1 more year and draft another real stud type OLB that is an absolute difference maker for this team.....imagine a dumerville type player opposite of Harrison....just sayin

I agree, Bryant is gonna be a beast

I know he's getting interview requests, but I can't imagine why any team is interested in him for their HC position after the way he acted in NY. I doubt he'll be hired as a HC.

As for how long he'd be here? Who knows, maybe one Lombardi? Two? Maybe none, we'd have a better defense? Even if he leaves after a year or two, he'd teach the system to our players and defensive assistants. He built the Baltimore defense, and it has continued to play well after he left. Fact is, we need PROVEN new blood, not just someone different.

At the very least he'd have the defence playing like maniacs.
