Why are liberals so opposed of Republicans?

Because they're a bunch of ******** who lust for power and control above all else. More government. Big government to regulate and control your every facet of life from birth until death. They are their own gods. They would have us be a full socialist state if they had their way. All of this bullshit about gun control. Yet they champion the slaughter of the unborn by the MILLIONS. They are a big part of the reason our society is going down the *******.They're repulsive. We have zero in common with them.

They are morally superior to conservatives. They want to save kids lives, and fund Planned Parenthood at the same time. See how that works.

Libs are taught that their positions are morally superior and that anyone who disagrees is therefore immoral and doesn't deserve to live, much less be heard. Simply the fact that you are a Republican/Conservative/Libertarian/WatchFoxNews ends any argument right there and your points and opinions are meaningless. You don't NEED to express your disagreement...WHO you are is all that needs to be known to disqualify you.

Besides on some social issues, I don't have a problem with conservative or Republican politics.

Unfortunately, the Bannon/Trump/Breitbart/Fox political movement has little to do with anything conservative or Republican. The Republican party of old has died a sad, sudden death. The likes of Lincoln, Roosevelt, Hoover, Eisenhower and Reagan would turn in their graves if they saw what this party has become. And they would chase Trump out of the WH and this current abomination of the GOP right out of Congress.

You know I really haven’t noticed what Trump has done to say such bad things about him. I see where some people object to his immigration policies but that’s their opinions and he isn’t trying to override any laws.

He defeated The First Woman President who was supposed to follow The First Black President.

Not even that. He hasn't proposed any new immigration laws, merely enforcing the laws we have. The Establishment in both parties was used to passing laws to get votes from the natives but not enforcing them to get votes from the immigrants.

Therein lies the rub. BIG fundamental difference in what is right and wrong.

When Republicans fought slavery, they were the "liberal" party. Republicans were considered liberal until the 1930's.

And Democrats were considered to be against government intrusion in every aspect of life 'until the 80's.

Democrat politicians understand that their professional lives require a large dependent class voter block, and republicans want to reduce the dependent class. The useful idiots of the democrat party actually believe that they care more about the dependent class and think republicans are meanies.

Clinton's welfare reform did more to lower the dependent class, than any recent legislation that I can think of.
Some of you think we still have the welfare of yesteryear.

You mean a Republican Congress’ welfare reform that Clinton signed because we had him by the balls? And the same reform Obama neutered?

Because Bomma brought it back. His biggest fans were counting on their Bomma Money from His stash.

The first thing you need to understand is the political left is not "Liberal" it is STATIST. To be liberal is to embrace liberty and self rule. The founders were liberal, Jefferson said he didn't care what you did or how you lived your life so long as your actions neither broke his leg nor picked his pocket. The political left is dead set against your natural rights while calling things that aren't rights by any definition a right. For example a right to health care. You have a right to ACCESS healthcare but you don't have a right to force a doctor, nurse or medical technologist to treat you for free and you don't have a right to force me to pay your medical bills. The left also mistakes tolerance for whole hearted support. For example most people I know tolerate gay marriage. They don't care if homosexual people want to marry and claim the legal status of spouses. Live and let live. They don't support the notion that a gay couple could sue to force a church or priest to provide a venue and officiate the ceremony in express violation of the religious beliefs of that particular religious sect. Leftists have a care based value system rather than a justice based value system where as conservatives are the opposite. Leftists see that person A makes less money than person B and they care that person A makes less so they believe person B must give some of what they earn to person A in the interest of "fairness". Conservatives look at the same two people and examine the reasons why person A makes less than person B, and determines that person A is not automatically entitled to what person B earns. The leftist calls this greed and evil. The conservative realizes correctly that what is evil and greedy is demanding that someone give you the property and money of someone that you did not earn.

It's funny how isolated the right wing views on this board are, in that they hardly represent the views of most Americans. I spent the past few weeks in Colorado, and sure it's mostly a blue state, but I travelled up and down, including the high mountain areas, the suburbs, met with a bunch of working class people. Turns out my anti-Trump stance is nothing compared to how overwhelmingly opposed people are to Trump and what he represents. I figured I'd at least run into a few Trump supporters who will point out to me his tax cuts, deregulation policy, etc. as positives. Everyone I met and spoke to were vehemently opposed to everything Trump represents, they feel he's a national embarrassment. The best I got was some people 'knew some Trump supporters who voted for him' but have since soured on the President. The mass exodus of Republicans who are bowing out from re-election also speaks to that.

In any case, kudos to the hard core base as represented here on the board. You guys have been unwavering in your support, though it seems the signing of the omnibus bill has even some of you grumbling a bit.

These midterm elections I'm afraid will fully expose the realities of this presidency. And in the background, Bob Mueller keeps churning along, silent but deadly.

In fairness the last Presidential election was supposed to teach everyone the realities of what a joke Trump's candidacy was also. Overconfidence is what sunk his opposition. I cannot believe nothing has been learned to this point but it seems that way.

And "silent but deadly" is an excellent description of the Mueller investigation....it's been as productive as a fart.

Let me guess you were not only on the front slope you were in the corridor between Vail and Denver on I70 where it is mostly transplanted Limousine Leftists from California? The thing that is so comical about this is you are so insular in your association that you really believe those people represent "most Americans".

Actually I was well south of that along the I25. Maybe they bused all the Trump supporters elsewhere to more easily identifiable flyover country.

If Republicans would keep their religious based morals out of politics I would vote for them. I’ll never vote for a candidate that doesn’t support equal rights for LGBTQ or who support restrictions on abortion.

Simple as that.

A lot of us are Libertarian-leaning.
I have no problem with equal rights for LBGTQ people or gay marriage. I do have a problem with "special rights" and the new Libtard agenda with 72 different genders.
My personal feeling on abortion is that the Supreme Court decided it was legal in 1973. The only ways to change that are 1) pro-life majority on the Supreme Court or 2) Constitutional amendment, which among other things requires ratification by at least 33 states. We will never get rid of enough Democrats to accomplish either, so I don't concern myself with it.

IMO opinion, who gives a **** what other people’s made up genders are. If you identify as an it, good for you. i’ll Call you ‘it’.

If you have a penis, but identify as a woman, great. It doesn’t bother me, I’ll call you she, or ey, or em, or whatever pronoun you want. To me, that is social evolution. I think we have bigger **** to worry about, like the longevity of the planet, overpopulation and my 401k.

In general I give a big ‘meh’ to people who get bent out of shape about that. One of my best friends is ‘trans’.

She (female) was raised in a religious household. She was married to a man, and they prayed at her wedding that God would make her straight (LMFAO). Then she and her husband divorced (shocking) and she married a woman. They lived as a lesbian couple. The she decided she didn’t want her **** (she always wore like 3 sports bras to keep the, down). She had them removed. I don’t know if she is a she, or a he, or a they. I know her by her name, as a solid, tax paying member of society who follows the law. Frankly, idgaf what her pronoun is. She doesn’t want special rights Ron, she just wants to be accepted as a human and not judged by others for being true to herself.

I hope this anecdote promotes some interesting discourse.

Coolie, yes. Idgaf. If you don’t want that thing in you, get it the **** out.

Then again, I don’t think retards (literally) should be allowed to have children. I don’t think Medicaid should pay for services for people with disabilities. The family who opted to have the baby should pay for the services. If it’s too expensive, then they should have thought about that when they opted to keep the baby.

In general, I take a Spartan view towards social reproduction.

so the left calls the Right Nazi but yet some support killing a baby just because they are not perfect...and restricting others they deem imperfect from having babies...how open minded of you.
