You can't give him a contract

It's going to be a tough call, as he's so good from a performance and ability standpoint.

The thing is that giving a player of questionable character a lot of money is not likely to improve his mindset.

It often makes it worse, as was the case with AB.

He isn't as as AB.....and they paid him. Show him the money!!!! Everyone one this site knows Tomlin will reel him in when he really has too anyways. Right?

It has nothing to do with Tomlin. It has to do with him. He isn't listening to anybody. Did you see other players talking to him all game long? HE has to decide it's in his best interest to listen.

He us a mental headcase. He literally cannot help it.
I don't know whether he can or cannot help it, it's a matter if he will or not. I don't think he will. He could be AB level whack. But we need him, how has Mediocre done when he's needed players in the past? He's shht the bed badly.

And Clark called it way out in front of it happening.

Meh, You give him a 5 year contract, then trade him when he gets close to 27... he is really young still
No, I would rather you give him a 8 year contract, then trade him right away. The only stipulation would be that you get him BACK @ 27 years old, when he finally starts to mature.

I'd get him a sports/performance shrink, build in all kinds of positive/negative incentives and sign him to the market contract he will get. I would keep a list of offers/teams at the ready and deal him, post contract signing, if his negatives mount.

Here is my question. How is he off the field? Did he have trouble at Georgia? He seems to have a hard time controlling his emotions and thinking logically. If all his troubles in life are on field then you weigh good with bad and make a decision. If he is capable of bad **** broom him. It's a matter of time.

He is 23...you dont give up on his talent... you pull him aside, explain he is ruining his brand and being labeled a moron, steer his attitude towards showing up the league by not being what they are labeling him

Give him the extension... if he doesnt shape up trade him at 26 or 27ish...

As Coach Tomlin said "He's got to grow up in a hurry".

He's got to stop letting anyone or anything get under his skin. It serves no purpose with foolish childish reactions, wastes energy and is detrimental to your team and winning football games.

Every player’s attitude has something to do with Tomlin
As HC he is in charge of discipline and coaching guys up

Sure GP needs to take accountability, but all discipline issues or lack thereof most definitely 1000% have something to do with the HC

When Pouncey was effing up and putting himself before the team did he get a talking to? Sure did

Does GP get a chat from Mike most games, sure does…cuz it’s his ****** job

In TikTok era the only way to ruin your brand is to not get noticed

GP is creating a brand of unbridled crazy and gets mad clicks for his brand, he gets eyes from everywhere like very few receivers do

As Cuban said the only bad publicity is no publicity

Gonna be hard to reel him in much

When he isn’t playing with that crazy passion we lose, so ya take the good ya take the bad with GP

That 2nd penalty was ridiculously today’s garbage NFL brand

It is, but you cannot force George to listen. He has to want to do that. Hopefully he can at some point see it is in his best interest.

The part I find the most concerning is that he is completely oblivious to his actions. He said he didn't make the gun gesture. He clearly did. He said he didn't do anything for the first taunting. He dropped the ball on the defender. Until he man's up they are going to keep at him to draw this type of reaction.

When you have Broderick Jones and Darnell Washington (Former Georgia Team mates) trying to get through to him yet again and again, it's a systemic problem. Look, Tomlin has two choices; one, you let George be George and accept the fact that he's going to cost you 30 yards per game and put your team at disadvantages especially during critically close games, including the playoffs. Or, you cut ties and draft or acquire an equal talent this upcoming offseason. It comes down to risk/reward with Pickens. The man is an absolute inmature headcase who needs to do more than just grow up, he needs to adopt an unselfish mindset.

I just wonder if he can. He has been programmed to be selfish probably from the moment someone realized he was a great athlete. And that was probably pretty early in this kid's life. The positive about him is it seems to do his stupid shiit on the field, but at least he doesn't seem to have issues with drugs or with the law.

But so much of this is the parents. The local high school team here, they have a kid who is a nice athlete. The parents have been filling his head up with how great he is, it's always the coaches fault if he doesn't get the stats, his grades aren't that good but it's the teachers fault, his work ethic is ok, but..."You're great, son!!!" And this is a kid who is a pretty good athlete. He isn't George Pickens good. You see this a lot with average athletes anymore...parents hoping to get that scholarship. I can only imagine how it is with someone who is truly special, like GP.
