2016-2017 Pens----Still with 100% more Kessel

Pens are no way, no how ready for the playoffs, they are headed to getting swept out in the 1st rd, like I said 2 months ago.

Same slow sloppy team all year
 
I'm not worried. Pens will be looking at a 3rd or 4th place seeding at this point. Losing Sheary sucked. That's just that. The team has been injured all season. Daley is due back, so one less AHLer on the roster. The Flyers beat the WBS pens last night.
-As much as I see the returning guys being rusty, I see it come playoff time they will be rested
-The Pens have been getting by with a near AHL level roster. Sprinkled with some NHLers. There is only so much Sid and the NHLers can do before those AHLers start anchoring down the team. Gaunce, Ruhwedal, Sundqvist, Archibald look great as call ups. But when you have a line consisted of AHLers, well it shows.

Here is where I am worried. Murray is having a bad stretch lately. All month of March he's just been down in a slump. Hope he's better than I'm thinking. MAF has looked a lot better. Hmm? Who knows
 
MAF has sucked in the playoffs for many years. That's my worry with him starting. I'll just happy if we can get most of the guys back soon and healthy.

Lol. You'll be singing a different tune come playoffs. Relax dude, the team will pull through when the playoffs start. These guys need help defensively. And is it me, or does Streit seem very flyer freindly towards his old team? Wanker
 
Yeah, too many injuries right now. You could see guys not knowing where to pass the puck on several occasions, giving it back to the other team. Next man up only works so many times.
 
good news: Hainsey, Guentzel and Sheary are all due back shortly. Skated today. Malkin still nursing his shoulder. Nothing on Letang.

Good to hear about Hainsey and Guentzel. Sheary's looked more like a stinger than any. Daley is supposed to be back by april as well. The defensive depth is what the Pens need
 
Pens vs Columbus on Apr 4 - that will be the playoff preview game, then 1 wk left to season

Two overtime games and one blowout win for the Jackets so far....I do not like this match-up

Not expecting much. Might be a good game to DVR and watch later.
 
And that will just about do it. They cant seem to buy a goal right now even when they do have good chances.

Well at this point all we can hope is that they get this **** out of their system in these last few meaningless games....
 
Alright guys, 2nd period will be a comeback. I'm tuning in. Such an ugly game. Rewinded the 1st on the dvr. Sid's line had some good chances. The interference call on Cole was "eh" 50/50 call. Fleury had some good saves. Panarin had a good breakaway, so flashes of positivity. Defense cannot move the puck to save their lives, that is not helping MAF at all. Chi 4 WBS 0


I'll check back in 2nd intermission. I'm hoping these guys are just winging it until the playoffs. But man, a bit worried
 
Ugh.. that first period was even more painful that the orange vomit pig game . Ommm in with the good air out with the bad ...ommmm...goosfraba

Well I'm hoping for some pucks going in the third, but I think Elvis has left the building while scratching his back with a hacksaw.
 
Not a bad 2nd period. Thought the Pens had good set up's and decent rushes. MAF didn't give up any goals and the defense did tighten up a bit. So small improvements. Feeling optimistic again. The phantom call on Sheary was dumb. Refs are just blowing whistles for show I guess. Sid, trying to channel some magic. I think he'll have a big 3rd

I think so. The Pens have been sloppy since clinching. I'm sticking with the cruise control theory lol
