2016-2017 Pens----Still with 100% more Kessel

Pens have been ok without Letang. Major blow to the team, but if Daley and Maatta can make a return soon, send a few of the WBS guys back, Steigy was saying last night that Ruhwedal is a plus 6 right now. Pens will be ok

Be nice to get Daley and Maatta back. I see everyone is supposed to make the final road trip except Kunitz so that is an encouraging sign.

Game over, man - he's the QB on defense and the PP

He took a lot of minutes during the game. Cole and Shultz are gonna have to step up big. As far as the PP, I honestly think Shultz is better than Letang on the first unit PP. Shultz does not hesitate to shoot on the PP if a lane opens up. He clicks well with Sid and Kessel on set ups as well. My opinion though

I saw that too. Malkin making the trip is good news. And is Daley supposed to play before the season ends? I think I read that on the Pens website

Don't be ascared. Next D man up.

Look what happened when the young goalie finally got to play last year.

You gotta look at the pairings, Letang was never a weakness bringing the puck up - Maatta-Hainsey, Cole-Daley? Scary!

As for the rest, Letang and Hagelin being out vs Columbus, then it´s not that bad. Kunitz is really just addition by subtraction, if you ask me.

Great news about Rust and Daley though - all hands on deck

More interesting is figuring out how the Loafs will blow a 5 point lead with 5 games left and miss the playoffs again.

You mean Canadian teams will actually reach the playoffs this year?!? I haven't been paying attention

Rust and Daley are playing tonight. Rust has a goal tonight. Lol and yes Spike, the leafs are in contention. Considering their front office woes, I wouldn't be surprised if that team breaks up the foundation of what the leafs have accomplished this season. Auston Matthews is legit. The surrounding cast is young too. Babcock may keep the team in the right direction but it is the leafs....

Anywhore, Pens up 5-3

Daley looks fast. Just got robbed too. He had an awesome chance to score. Shneider with a good save.

That 4th line consisted of Rowney/Wilson/Archibald is playing lights out. I like their on ice awareness, scoring chances and speed

Lovejoy is playing pretty well for NJ. Very underrated as a Pen. I miss him

Damn 5-4. Murray is having trouble freezing the puck. But he did fall down in a bad position. NJ just took advantage to an open net

****! Sid is looking a bit hurt on the bench. Bob Errey said Sid was feeling stiff since landing in NJ. The guy needs to rest up

Let the PO start! Pens/CBJ series is a coin flip. The good thing for the Pens, the Jackets have trouble scoring of late. Also, we will be getting some bodies back this weekend. I expect goonery from CBJ and the Pens need to continue playing their game, fast and relentless. They should prevail. Also, they need to stay healthy, for crying out loud. That's the part that really concerns me. Columbus will try to injure our players.

So playoffs begin next Wed, and Fri at home

Cant wait

I was wrong. Loafs need to win one of last four games to clinch playoff spot. 0-2 in first two. Games Sat night against Pens, and Blue jackets (WTF is a Blue Jacket?)

Pens will probably rest up, let Loafs win because that keeps Isles out.

Who could give WASH a tougher series? Might be a wash, no pun intended, but I'd rather see NYI play them.

WILD CARD

1. New York Rangers, 100 points, 80 games played, 44 ROW
2. Toronto Maple Leafs, 93 points, 80 games played, 38 ROW
——–
3. New York Islanders, 90 points, 80 games played, 37 ROW

The Leafs can clinch a playoff spot by picking up two points over their final two games. That’s all they’ll need to reach 95 points, a total that can’t be reached by the Islanders or Lightning.

But if the Islanders win their final two games (at New Jersey on Saturday, home vs. Ottawa on Sunday), they can get to 94 points. If that happens and if the Leafs lose their final two games, then the Islanders are in.

Isles got a tough row to hoe to get in, but stranger things have happened

holy ****-oly

Habs, Leafs, Sens - that's 3 teams from the East - and Flames, Edmonton out West ????

Canada is taking over our sport!

The leafs have a decent offense. Defense is not to great imo. NYI maybe. They can be a bit physical, but I think Ovie's boys take them. I was hoping the caps would get Boston in the first round. I think Boston and the Pens stand a chance against Wash. Wash looks favored every season, they are feeling the pressure. If the Pens can continue getting bodies back, then expect a strong push. The only team I feared in the east was Tampa cause they can match the Pens speed. But they're out. If the Pens don't make the cup, I'll be rooting for Nashville in the west to win it all. Anybody but the caps and cbj

Don't know if I should post this here, since it is somewhat Pens related. Dude was the head coach for Wheeling last year, took a leave of absence before the playoffs for reasons unknown. His body was found OD'd on heroine. Kinda crazy to think this guy was a head coach for pro team. Whatever drove him to using drugs and trying to get his life sorted out. Sad he couldn't
