And it Begins:Special Prosecutor To Investigate Trump And Russia

Not open for further replies.
The most logical answer to Tibs question as to what is keeping the FBI/DOJ or Congress to open a new investigation into Hillary's criminal activity, is that the investigation would eventually lead to the ringleader, Barak Hussein Obama.

We certainly wouldn't want to implicate the first black president now would we? That would be racist for one thing. There would be havoc in the streets.. Perhaps Sessions realizes this and won't touch it with a ten foot pole.

So much for Justice being blind.

Not doing something based on the color of one's skin has more racial overtones than following through according to the law as written. Personally I don't care if he's White, Black or Native American, if he broke the law he needs to be tried in an impartial court of LAW. It will never happen though because the establishment is not bound by the laws of men and women.

Can I also add Tibs that I assist my husband in running a consulting business that deals with regulatory affairs at the federal, state and local levels. We interact with government contracted law firms and regulatory agencies and legislators all the time. I probably deal with government more in a week than you have in your entire lifetime. So please take your paternalistic sexist "childish, misinformed and naive" comments and shove them.
When you repeatedly state the Mueller probe began because ‘Hillary heard Trump talking nice about Putin’ or that the Steele dossier has been completely discredited, or that Cohen & Manafort aren't guilty of committing felonies and you casually try to wave the whole thing off, well that’s childish, misinformed and naive. As far as your bullshit charge I’m being paternalistic and sexist, I’d have written the same exact thing if you were a guy, for whatever it’s worth.

You like to fancy yourself an intellectual
No I don't. Evidently I'm some dumbfuck hick who gets slapped around on a daily basis by the political science and foreign policy experts and geniuses on this board .

Professor Decides To Protest Trump…By Shooting Himself

Las Vegas professor shot himself protest Trump

Mark J. Bird, 69, was charged last month with discharging a gun within a prohibited structure, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and possessing a dangerous weapon on school property, court records show. He was found bleeding from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his arm about 8:15 a.m. on Aug. 28 outside a bathroom in the Charleston campus K building.

Inside the bathroom, campus police found a $100 bill taped to a mirror along with a note that said, “For the janitor,” according to Bird’s arrest report.

If Rodney King were alive today, he would simply shake his head and say, "Damn, Tibs, your beating makes mine look like pattycake."
Despite your best intentions, you always revert back to form. You’re a one trick pony with your 'bitchslapped / knock out' memes who simply can’t sustain an adult conversation. Too bad.

Should have had an independent counsel appointed.
Why not appoint one now, if there's clear proof that multiple crimes were committed, as you suggest? What's keeping the Trump/GOP majority in all three branches of government from doing so?

Incredibly enough, you believe that Republicans love and support Trump. Do you not have access to the internet??
Indeed, Trump goes out of the way to alienate his own party, and has been an utter failure in garnering support for his legislative platform. Who's fault is that? To argue the GOP wouldn't jump at the chance to go after Hillary - as they've done so time and time again - is simply a fantasy. If there was any evidence of further crimes or improprieties that haven't been looked into, they would re-open the investigation. The fact they haven't done so should tell you something.

The same powers that have been a corrupt, ball-washing embarrassment for years still run Washington. Those powers - Mueller, then Comey, and Strzok, and McCabe, and Rosenstein
Neither Comey, Strzok or McCabe are currently in government. How in the world are they 'still' running Washington? Mueller is the head of the Special Counsel investigation with no additional role in government or its agencies. Rosenstein was hand-picked by Trump. as was FBI director Chris Wrey, and Jeff Sessions, for that matter.

...the answer is plainly, clearly and obviously "a number of powerful individuals." Comey for one, and McCabe, and Rosenstein.
Again you keep repeating this like you're counting prayer beads on a rosary. Comey and McCabe are long gone, Rosenstein was hired by and serves at the discretion of the President.

So you deny there is proof that he conspired to hurt Trump? Seriously?
Yes indeed. Srzok was deeply opinionated against Trump, but there is no evidence it affected or influenced any of his casework, or that of the overall investigation. He was fired for personal conduct issues, not for conspiring to hurt Trump. You seem to forget that, or simply ignore it.

LOL, the ridiculousness never stops. Oh and on the second part of your post, are you talking about the self proclaimed geniuses who've been conned by a conman who go out of their ways to prove he's not a conman? LOL, good luck.

Yup, those geniuses.

Now here is a protest tactic that I can get behind.

When you repeatedly state the Mueller probe began because ‘Hillary heard Trump talking nice about Putin’

As I said, I distill things down to their essence. Obviously it's a lot more complex than that but the repeated references Trump has made to Putin and Russia are the stones that have started the moss gathering. I'm not referring to the investigation into Russian interference in our elections, I'm referring to attempts to link it to Trump.

Cohen & Manafort aren't guilty of committing felonies

Nope, never said that. You said Cohen was "found guilty". He wasn't. He pled guilty. Two different things and important distinction in this context. But yes, of course if you plead guilty to a felony you are guilty of a felony. I never said otherwise.

I have never said Manafort isn't guilty of committing a felony. Ever. He's certainly as of yet not guilty of any felony that involves Trump or Russian interference in our elections. That's not naive or childish, that's a fact. I like to deal in facts not in innuendos.

you casually try to wave the whole thing off

Nope, not doing that either. Just sifting through all the bullshit looking for relevant facts. Bringing up condos sold and casino sightings from 30 years ago in this context is pretty much just bullshit. It's throwing everything at the wall you can think of to see what sticks.

As far as your bullshit charge I’m being paternalistic and sexist, I’d have written the same exact thing if you were a guy, for whatever it’s worth.

The entire tone of your post was of the pat on the head "run off and let the grownups talk" variety. Yes, I detect a whiff of sexism there, most women have experienced that tone before and can recognize it when they see it.

Hmmm, nothing posted yet about Manafort pleading guilty today, right before he was due to stand for his 2nd trial. Or more importantly, that he's agreed to a plea deal - spanning 17 pages - outlining his decision to cooperate with Mueller in the Russia probe.

I'd post it myself but I'd be accused of sharing yet another sensationalized, gotcha article, and I'd hate that.

Nah, probably didn't happen, my eyes must be playing tricks on me.

I'll check back in a few days to find out how insignificant this all is. How it has nothing to do with Manafort's ties to Putin. Or that the charges he's pled guilty to weren't conspiracy againt the United States and obstruction of justice. Or how none of this has anything to do with Trump and the 2016 election.

Maybe Trump will tweet about it shortly. I'm sure he'll be overjoyed yet another close associate has decided to flip. Especially since he just praised Manafort profusely a few weeks ago for...not flipping, like Cohen did.

I have a hunch Trump deeply regrets praising Manafort a few weeks back for being brave and not breaking.

Nothing posted because people are either WORKING, don't care, or dealing with Hurricane Florence. But nice try.

And yet we still have yet to see one shred of evidence of any kind that implicates Trump in anything to do with Russia. Nada nyet. So he cut a deal. He was guilty. Doesn’t mean it has any thing to do with Trump. It could but nothing we have seen yet has. It would have leaked if there was something big.

There is nothing remarkable about a professional prosecution team, with unlimited time and an endless budget, making someone plead to something. It is however, something of a constitutional crisis that this team is free to assault anyone who might be willing to impugn the sitting president under such duress.

You both could be 100% correct. For Trump's sake, I hope you're right.

I happen to believe that the Mueller investigation is winding down. There is so much stench coming from it that Mueller wants out, with what little is left of his reputation. With the FISA investigation heating up and with Rosenstein reportedly under investigation, this probe is doomed anyway.

Do you really want Pence?
It's not a question for any one of us to answer. Either Mueller will charge Trump with federal crimes and take the case to Congress, or he won't. Doesn't matter what I want. Also, don't be shocked if Pence himself is implicated in all this, given he was hand-picked by Manafort and also brought Flynn onboard. Depending on where this investigation goes, Pence may end up in the frey along with Trump, and presumably others in his cabinet, members of his family, people in the Trump organization, etc.

So the question may end up being if I want Paul Ryan, Orrin Hatch or Mike Pompeo to be president, but we'd be getting ahead of ourselves.

One thing I'm pretty sure of, Robert Mueller isn't ******* around. Simply stunning how many guilty pleas he's garnered, as well as the number of cooperating witnesses. And the fact Manafort has to forfeit $40-50M Ft. in assets and property to the federal government means this entire Mueller investigation isn't simply paying for itself, it's generating a profit. Mueller's Art of the Deal, if you will. Good news for taxpayers.

Assuming FISA issues in the future that look likely don’t get it all thrown out and cause possible lawsuits against them. This is and will stay ugly if the government starts looking into ALL the issues not just trying to get Trump. The FISA part could get real nasty.

LOL THIS ******* joke of a congress? LOL they're too busy trying to find ways to discredit every ******* executive branch of power to save their king and their own agendas. **** them. Me personally, I couldn't give 2 ***** what happens to trump, whether that leads to Pence, et al or not. I will say this though, trump has got me to do something I've never done before in the past, never really wanted to do and never thought I would do and that is vote straight D ticket in November. And I'll do so happily. Whether it leads to impeachment or whatever ain't my problem. I think he's more suited to removal by straight jacket than anything else, but again, I don't give a flying **** about him.

That ******* Trump has turned you from a liberal who tells people you think t about it before you vote all D, to one who tells people you just vote all D automatically? That is devastating.

Or how none of this has anything to do with Trump and the 2016 election.

Considering that everything he pled guilty to happened years before he was part of the Trump campaign, you are correct.

While you gleefully celebrate yet another indictment that has nothing to do with the Trump campaign and try to insinuate that it does, the rest of us will wait and see what other FACTS come out of it.
