Regardless of the loss today, does anyone really think this team is going anywhere this year? This team has one of the worst defenses I've seen in Pittsburgh in years, the offense is very inconsistent and the coaching is downright pathetic with adjustments. I think it's time to start seeing what Shamarko has, if that means Troy sitting on the bench, then so be it. I think the best option for this team is lose and lose often this year, that will give us a early draft pick where we HAVE TO select a CB, followed by another CB in the 2nd round. Losing this year should also increase the likelihood that Tomlin will be shown the door and Lebeau will follow. I actually like Tomlin, I think he seems like a cool guy, he's just not a good HC. I've been a supporter of his up until this year and it's starting to really show that he just doesn't have what it takes. As far as Lebeau, I love the man. He's a legend, but his time has come to hang it up and we need a fresh design. The players also have to take accountability and hopefully the young guys continue to improve this year and the offseason. Bottom line is, this team is going nowhere and losing isn't exactly the worst thing right now, in terms of setting a brighter future.

Troy, like LeBeau, will be trotted out there like Weekend at Bernie's. It is up to them when they have a seat.

Nope...not with the current leadership. My fear is that fans will wake up and finally realize the leadership of this team is lacking. Tomlin and LeBeau both need to go.

Same ****, every week.

Tomlin is not going anywhere. That is the unfortunate fact we must face.

That means he remains deeply involved in the drafts, which will produce more of his soft, 2-deep, CB's apparently don't matter approach.

I can pretend that tomorrow Al Quaeda says, "What the **** were we thinking? We need to stop this **** and look to promote advancement by education and hard work, and express respect and admiration for Western nations that have built the modern world."

Pretending will not make it so. In fact, it simply covers the ugly truth.

If the fans get loud enough The rooneys will have to make a change. Any real steeler fan will see we need a change so voice your opinion for the good of the organizAtion

Depth.
Defense has no depth.
had to sign 36year olds Keisel and Harrison just to field a respectable team.

Offense is a mix-match of miss-matched parts and philosophies....led by the next Head Coach in waiting.

I thought after showing signs of life last week, that they had a chance. A game like today shows that this year is heading towards another 8-8 finish. I'll still be optimistic and cheer every week, though.

Lol, and who is worse? Tampa Bay is horrendous ....**** wait scratch that.

We gonna beat Cincy? Rats? Jags by ten next week

Idioteque was being sarcastic. He's well aware of how pathetic this team has become

They did what they always do....get a big win, and then **** the bed against a awful team the next week.

They lack effective coaching.

There is not a team in the league that we are not capable of beating.....but that goes both ways........

No. The schedule will buy us 6-7 wins.

Will you and others who buy into that "easy schedule Mularkie PLEASE STOP IT"

I am convinced that too many players on this team read that BS and believe it. News Flash Steelers, the other teams regardless of their record are going to beat us silly unless this team is focused mentally AND physically. 6 0r 7 wins my arse! Not after what I saw today!

Shameful performance. I have seen this team look pitiful after half time time and time again, as if nobody in the coaching staff was making adjustments.

Right now, the Steelers are becoming the laughing stock of the NFL. God forbid when we have to play Baltimore, Cincy and Cleveland.

Jaguars have to be licking their chops.

the way there will be change is with an "easy" schedule, they go 4-12 and consistently look like a mess like they did today. It could happen, but as they usually do, they'll play well enough to keep status quo with a .500 record.

The only thing that changes are the seasons around here.

Yes at this point I think we absolutely have a shot to win and make the playoffs. We have too many great players on O. But if we do not fix the penalties and shore up our secondary then 8-8.

Tomlin would have to have a losing season this year and the next two, to get him out.

I agree with this.. I think we have the tools to be in playoffs. The weakenss is our defense.. specificly pass defense.

Penalties killed us.

It is a fact that teams known for being undisciplined and poorly coached - the Raiders for the past several years, for example - are called for the most penalties. That describes the current Steelers.

The secondary grabs receivers because they cannot cover, the defenders grab facemasks repeatedly because they cannot tackle, and the offensive line commits false starts because of lack of discipline.

Those are 100% due to poor coaching. I say this as the father of two kids who competed Division 1 athletics, and who experienced first-hand good, mediocre and lousy coaching.

The Steelers exhibit everything that I associate with lousy coaching: inability to avoid poor decisions, failure to adjust to what the officiating crew is calling, penalties stemming from an infuriating lack of attention to detail ("Illegal formation on the offense, 5 yards ... false start on the offense, 5 yards"), lack of discipline ("15 yards, unsportsmanlike conduct ... "), and poor technique ("Illegal contact, defense ...").

These players, with better coaches who will not accept lazy and sloppy play, and who demand attention to detail, would be 3-1 right now, and a threat to win the AFC North. But with Tomlin in charge of coaching, discipline, attention to detail, and having a significant role in player selection, the only threat they pose is to the mental health of Steelers fans.

I became a Steelers fan in 1970. I have seen the team under just 3 coaches: Chuck Noll, Bill Cowher and Mike Tomlin. The first 2 set a coaching standard that I have come to expect; Mike Tomlin sets a coaching standard I have come to dread.

I thought 8-8 give or take 3. I'm leaning toward the give 3 right now.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! brother ben. we are not only tarnishing, but completely embarrassing the Rooney name. I'll bleed black & gold until I die. It's unfortunate that Tomlin will be allowed to be the one to bury us. Good news for the US, there's a new expansion team on the market.

The kid that was hosting the post game show on 93.7 said Seattle and Baltimore where the two most penalized teams in the last two years respectively (the years they won the SB) is that true?
