Bell - No Structural Damage

Pittsburgh reporters at the facility yesterday. I believe Dale Lolley to be exact.

Wow. i read he had a noticeable limp, but not that he could barely walk.

Ben hyper-extended his knee vs. the Chargers in 2005 and was out four weeks - but he was hit harder with foot planted and he was in crutches. Sounds great Bell is not in crutches. Here's to hoping that my comparison means Bell's is nowhere near as serious. But even if he is not 100%, if he can play he'll still command respect and and Ravens will have to account for him; the game will be won on the arm of Ben.
And the Rats know their chance at a win is to put Ben out of the game. Here's hoping this ever improving O Line keeps Ben clean. Kelvin Beachum and Marcus Gilbert will be the targets of Suggs & Dumerville. I hope Beachum knocks Thuggs' chicklets all over Heinz Field! The Steelers Defense is fat with young guys playing for starting roles and contracts that hit HARD. The timing might just be ours for a change!

And Tomlin said he was on the bike like he was training for a marathon.

And Tomlin would never exaggerate to mislead an opponent would he?

Don't know and don't care. Either way, I wouldn't play Bell unless he is near 100% and the doctors said there is no chance of further injury. I don't see that happening. His knee is definitely in a weakened state due to the hyperextension.

The fact that we signed another running back means Bell will not suit up on Saturday.

Brown hadn't played in 8 of the last 10 games. no idea what all the hand-wringing is for. relax...we signed Ted Beneke to the Practice Squad.

I don't think it means that at all. They need another running back for practice and an option to play if he isn't ready. I wouldn't say the odds of him playing are good, but this signing doesn't signify anything to me.

I don't think that's necessarily true. It's to early in the week and they don't know how his knee will respond by Thursday or Friday. Need to have a back up plan.

This move should have been made the day after Blount walked out. And if you think they had faith in Harris then why did he never play.

Same reason why Blount didn't. Bell is a 3 down back. No situation unless he's hurt he's not in the game.

IMO the signing has more to do with a lack of experience and Archer. IF Bell doesn't play Harris will start and Tate will back him up.

Tate signed with Minnesota before they could even get him in for a visit. So, the move couldn't have been made. Lest you forget, Blount walked out on the team because he wasn't getting carries (2 or 3 in the game he walked). Neither Blount, Harris OR Tate were going to get a bunch of carries when Bell was healthy.

If that is their long term plan for Bell he won't have much of a career. He will be worn out in four seasons. Blount played. Just not enough to what he expected.

Blount was being phased out of the game plan before he walked out. Haley has said as much. And I don't think their long term plan is for Bell to be on the field all the time; just a majority of it. Hell, Bussy didn't leave the field often in his prime. But anyway, I think they plan to look for a complimentary back up in the off season. Maybe it's Tate. Maybe not.

We know the Rats are gonna bring pressure all game long, because they have to. The Steelers will adjust accordingly.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm glad Spaeth is around.

Guys like Wheaton and Moore will have to contribute more.

it's amazing Canadians understand our team better than most yinzers

That's why Tate was cut from the Stains, he pitched a hissy fit because he wasn't getting enough carries just like Blunt, which is why I wasn't in favor of signing him at the time. Possibly getting cut twice in one season had a way of making his mind right and he will appreciate having a job.
What I want to hear:
"I'm happy to be with a class organization like the Steelers, in the playoffs, and I will do whatever Coach Tomlin and Coach Haley want me to do. If they want me to run the ball I'll run the ball, if they want me to block I'll block, if they want me to hold for field goals I'll do that too."

Just spread those douches out, 3WRs, TE, RB. Wheaton, Bryant, Brown, Miller, and line Will Johnson up at RB, he can block and catch, and is a tough runner.

Even Kordell could beat this Ravens secondary - ******' aye

Burn their ***** deep with that pump, pump, double pump

Throw to your best weapons early Ben!

Let Ben be Ben.

just no more stupid fake punts, please

seriously

Tomlin is looking at Tate's throwing motion as we speak. Tate to Silverback, they'll never be expecting it!!

Ahhh, but the Ravens won't think we would do a fake punt again...so....

I think you go

Beach
Foster
Pounce
Decast
Gilbert

Ben
Brown
Wheat
Bryant
Heath
Harris

Unless the O-line struggles then you drop a WR and put in Matt or Adams as a TE
