Browns agreed to send a 2nd and 3rd rounder for McCarron. Bengals agreed but the Browns didn't send their stuff to the NFL quick enough... They were too busy celebrating.

Bengals and Browns actually agreed to AJ McCarron trade at 3:55 pm, per source involved. Bengals approved trade to NFL, Browns did not.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports the Browns were ready to part with second- and third-round picks. The Browns have lost control of their quarterback narrative, letting their rivals and media paint them as hapless in their pursuit of an answer under center.

You can't make this stuff up.................... WTF???? Heads would roll if that happened around here............. One thing though is we don't really have anyone to trade..... EVERYONE here contributes in some form or another and that is what makes this message board so GREAT. Hell even T'aint has a roll or two.........

Salute the nation

You know, this might work out for the Steelers. if Ben retires like most think he will after the season. I see the Steelers making a strong run at getting him. would that not be funny as hell.

And what makes you see this exactly?

Just a feeling about it. Jones is not the short term future, and AJ I don't think would command the big, big money to sign him. I don't see them spending big on say a Kirk Cousin. also I think he should be starting over Andy Dalton. AJ the best QB on that team, makes better decisions with the ball. has a very nice arm, can make all the throws. still remember that game against Denver two years ago. played really well against the great defense.

The Clowns are just stupid on so many levels. A 2nd and a 3rd for McCarron? That's crazy in and of itself. They really just have no clue how to run a football team.

I'm glad the Bengals didn't get the 2nd and 3rd picks. Getting them from Cleveland is like getting a 1st and 2nd rd pick!

Bengals have been drafting well, at least better than the Browns, and that draft next year could have pushed them up to being a contender. Now we're back to square 1. Browns suck and so do the Bengals!!

I would have given up a 2nd or a 3rd for McCarron. I don't know if he would be a long term solution to be a starter, but he has skills to be a good quarterback. If anything, if Ben retires, I'd draft a QB in the 1st or 2nd round and would kick AJ's tires to compete for the starting job with the rook.

A second AND a third for McCarron? I think the Browns dodged a bullet with their own ineptitude.

The players they have or don't have isn't their biggest problem.

Factor this in with the trade of Garoppolo and we might be seeing what GM's think of the 18' QB class.
