Canada FIRED

Tomlin sounded like a petulant child at his PC today...really makes me believe that firing Canada was NOT his decision.

This ought to take all the speculation of 'who' made the call to fire Maple Syrup...

That would be HCMT.

You know better. Folks have decided that Art ll had to be the one doing the firing and/or making the decision. Otherwise, that would mean TOMLIN gave them what they wanted. And that would make the meal taste sour.:ROFLMAO:

Sorry, but if you watched that whole presser and still think that was on Tomlin, then we will agree to disagree. He was defiant and short with anyone trying to get any information on the entire situation. He was literally acting like a petulant and sulking child
Sounds like a normal Tomlin Tuesday presser then. He's always defiant and short with his answers and he never gives out any information.

One of the residents at my work told me they fired Canada I was like "yeah ok" I mean the guy is pretty with it, but I thought he was just hearing about how everyone thought he should be fired......A few minutes later I pulled out my phone and checked it out and was shocked it was real. Firing a coach seems to give players a boost for at least a game. It will be interesting to see what happens and how fast they can implement whatever hopefully new strategies they come up with.

with this being the first coach let go in the middle of the season maybe Tomlin starts to feel some heat, also maybe Art ll is starting to get the message from the fans that if things don't change and change soon it's gonna start affecting his bottom line.

11 pages on a Tuesday, lol. I didn’t even hear about this till now.
I hope all of you guys didn’t cruise the internet all day during working hours! 😁😁😁

I’m not going to harp too much on who did the firing. It’s done. It’s a step in the right direction. And of course....it’s about time! I’m not expecting miracles, but it sure will be interesting reading the body language on Sunday.
I had a knee replacement two weeks ago so I’m just sitting at home anyway.

Local news reporting that Gerry Dulac, the beat writer from the Post-Gazette, said it was Deuce’s call. Other sports reporters are saying that Deuce was in unusually bad mood immediately after the loss in Cleveland.

How’s it feel Ron? My knees and back are so shot I’ve been wondering about the knee replacement.
First week it hurt a ton, after that a little better every day. I can put full weight on it now and walk a short distance without the walker but range of motion is ****. Rotator cuff surgery hurt worse. I’ll get the other one done next year.

You know I remember reading something like a month ago about McDaniels and Antonio Pierce. McDaniels would have Josh Jacobs circle the plays in the playbook he liked. Mcdaniels rarely if ever called those plays in the games. Pierce takes over and the first game every one he circled was in the game plan. Might be a good practice for the offense. Ask everyone what plays they like and give each of them 5. Kenny, Najee, Warren, DJ, Pickens, Freiermuth. That’s 30 plays that the team likes. Get everyone involved in the game plan and vested.

Just a thought.

Well, I mean Deuce is the owner. Final word and all that. So, it would stand to reason he "made the call".
Even if Tomlin walked into Deuce's office and said "I want Canada's *** barred from the facility as of yesterday", the final call is Deuce's and Deuce's alone. So, putting it out there that way is no risk for Dulac. And, knowing the controversy it would cause if he worded it that way ... Good for (media) business ... no?
I mean, I don't care initiated it. It needed to be done. But, it wasn't going to be done without Deuce signing off on it ... i.e. "making the call".

I cant see a scenario where Art 2 isn’t asked permission to let go Canada since it’s his money and moreover a giant divergence from team culture…

1. This was LONG overdue. Anyone who followed Matt Canada's career should've known this wasn't going to be good. He was a "big" name in the college world, but his offenses were almost always average or below average...in college. Impossible to expect better in the pros. Easily could've been fired after his first or second year, yet here we are.

2. Someone providing info to Dulac that ARII fired Canada wasn't a mistake.

3. Canada's replacements don't exactly inspire confidence. This is an overall weak coaching staff with very few up-and-comers.

4. If we are going to see immediate change I want it to see it with the mentality of the team. Keep grinding it out on the ground but take a more aggressive approach in the passing game. Let Pickett feel good about his throws. In an odd way, they almost need to have a bit of that Bruce Arians attitude on offense. QBs eat that stuff up and Pickett needs some good mojo right now.

5. As mad pointed out, let's see some cohesiveness with the offensive line play and with the routes. Other teams never look this messy.

6. Pickett HAS to start making some throws. Give us reason to be excited about the rest of the season.

Maybe most importantly, like they had in Buffalo, this is a move that had to be made because Tomlin was at risk of losing the locker room. Dorsey was a scapegoat, obviously. Canada wasn't.

When I heard this news, my mind went in this direction. Take your pick.....

Took of work early. Had a beer and some bourbon
Ordered out, tried Moe's Southwest Grill. A Mexican restaurant with a burrito the size of Polamalu 's head. Was pretty good. I guess they are known for their queso dip.

Celebrate good times come onnnn.

In the video that Berm posted Tomlin expressed that he had to let Canada go....that it was not an easy decision for him to make...so on and so forth.
