I didn't necessarily agree with everything he said, but Joe Rogan had a guy on a couple weeks ago who said that China has an impending demographic and economic collapse regardless if we do anything or not.

So what women they have after the one child policy are rapidly aging out of fertility. An early morning thought before the coffee kicks in. In the early 50's my parents had 3 kids, who in turn produced 9 kids, averaging 3 each for both generations.
Those 9 kids have only produced 12 kids among them so far, but they're likely done. Oddly enough, both my maternal and paternal grandparents had 3 kids as well, so for 3 generations it was a 3 kid household and it's now down to 1.3. Not sure this means anything as far as this country goes, just a random thought on my part.

Not sure this means anything as far as this country goes, just a random thought on my part.

Problem is that most people don't work until the day they die, my father being a notable exception. At some point there are not enough people of working age to keep the place running and more pensioners collecting out of the system than people paying into it. In western Europe you get full pension from the government at age 55. If I lived there I could have retired 7 years ago. Social Security was designed for people to collect at age 65 at a time when the average life expectancy was 67.

When I was in college in 1982, I attended a speech by a Soviet emigre. He said that the Soviet Union was teetering and would implode within a few years (I think he said five) if the United States stopped propping it up. He said that every arms agreement benefited the Soviets since they simply did not have the technology or production capacity to keep up with America. He also said that basically every mechanical device in the Soviet Union - cars, planes, sewing machines, everything - was reverse-engineeryed and stolen from America as part of "lend-lease" during WWII.

I dismissed the idea at the time. I have never forgotten what he said and that he was 100% correct. China survives only because WE buy their slave-labor ****. You know those "trade wars" that American politicians claim will devastate America? Yeah, no. They will devastate CHINA.

Bring back all manufacturing to the United States & Canada - all of it. Chips, AND computers, AND pharmaceuticals, AND clothes, AND shoes - everything. China will implode in a few years.
