Colbert or Tomlin whoever has the final say needs to go

The arrow is pointing up. Didn't end the way we wanted but its pointing up.Talented offense with some pieces in place on defense. This draft and maybe maybe some pieces added from free agency on the defensive side.

We definitely saw some improvement over last year. Last year we struggled against good, average and bad teams. This year we still struggled against some bad-average teams, but were able to beat some good teams and improved on our scoring. We saw improvement from Wheaton and Bell exploded while Bryant appears to have been a steal. Really, too early to tell if Bryant can keep that up, but everyone had to have liked what he showed this year.

There seems to have been some nice pick-ups on D, which, presumably should get better after a year on the team. McCullers put in some decent time and Tuitt, I believe, ended the season as the starter. I thought Tuitt would take over as starter earlier in the season, though. Moats was a good FA pickup and I hope he stays (don't know what kind of contract he signed). I hope they let Cam Thomas go (didn't understand the desire to sign him in the first place) and don't tag Worilds again. I wouldn't be pissed off to see Worilds back next year, but it has to be at a much better salary than I think he wants. After last year, I was sure someone would have thrown a lot of money at him if we hadn't tagged him. this year, I don't think he gets what he could have gotten last year but someone is probably willing to pay him more than I would like to see us pay him. We saw some good play (and some bad) from our 3rd, 4th and 5th CB's who started several games. I hope Cortez has figured something out. No idea what happened to him this year, but he has to figure it out, or go. Shazier should be a good addition, but lost much of the year, so that is a set-back.

They need to assess why they have been so horrible at selecting OLB.........and whomever is responsible needs to take a back seat on that position come draft day.

11-5 > 8-8. That contract extension is coming. Agree with Super Dave that they have to figure out who's responsible for the **** drafts on defense.

If we had won a playoff game, I think the extension this year would be a certainty. Having lost in round one, I think it is less certain to happen now. No idea how to guess that probability. Something less than 1...

People keep saying the arrow is pointing up like we're going to win more than 11 games next season.

If someone wants to wager my pm box is wide open. ... Just saying

Lol that inbox wont be getting any wagers anytime soon, I'm sure.

Lol whoops! This thread had so much potential too, I thought for sure it'd go 100+ pages. I'm sure someone will figure out a way to keep it going off topic.

This is the Rooneys we're talking about. You're being WAY too pessimistic. In 5 years and probably 10 Coach Cool Shades will still be here.

1 Super Bowl Championship, 2 AFC Championships, 4 AFCN division championships, 5 playoff appearances and 1 COY award with a winning pct of .641 in 8 yrs of coaching. Thats an awful coach if i ever saw one...clueless and has no idea wtf hes doin......why is this guy even still employed in the NFL.....?

No playoff wins in 4 years with a franchise QB in the what have you done for me lately NFL, not good enough.

Lol! Is that the only comeback you guys even have anymore? "With a franchise QB". When will this franchise QB start playing like one in the playoffs? Or in the games we needed to win when we only needed 1 more win to make the playoffs. "With a franchise QB" my ***. Want to see how a real franchise QB win big games? Watch Brady, Manning, Wilson, Luck, and Rodgers this weekend.

If you are satisfied with being irreleaant in the playoffs anymore, Tomlin is your man, enjoy.

Yeah because like already stated we've made lʍoq ɹǝdnSs, playoff appearances, but games where our "franchise QB" chokes it away we lose. But never mind actually watching the games let's just blame Tomlin because he allows our "franchise QB" to throw interceptions. Wow reality is so hard these days.

Thats enough for YOU to fire him...it was enough for CHicago to can Lovie Smith (who had less success than Tomlin). Where is Chicago today...? They took a gamble and thought they could do better...and they are reaping the benefits of their decision.... or not......

Im willing to bet had we won our playoff game with or without LeVeon, youd still want him gone...but thats fine because you arent the decision maker...youre not a football guy.....I trust management..i trust ownership....i dont trust fans....fans speak and comment from emotion --and are shortsighted...they are easily swayed one week to the next...one season to the next...if ownership in Pitt took guidance from fans we can be assured the level of success would be minimal.

Let me ask you something direct....Ben being the franchise QB and all, apparently isnt good enough to overcome ****** coaching ? Is Tomlin holding Ben back from more success ?Would Ben flourish under a new head coach.....? Be careful in your approach when it comes to QB referencing...because the teams ineptitude may just be as much an indictment of QB play as it is ****** coaching (ie Red Zone efficiency thats been a problem under three OCs and two head coaches)

Give some replacement candidates....some realistic candidates...go ahead.

again, what position on this team is better now than it was in 2006?

Lol I think I'll rather wait for the answers to these questions. Finally some good ones.

WR RB C RG LT. Cam Heyward is damn good. Tuitt can be even better. Timmons is almost as good as Farrior and better then Larry Foote. Shazier jury still out. We need rushers no doubt. Going to he hard as hell to find someone as good as Hampton and Polamalu. We arent far off. This draft is big.

You mean like when the Steelers hired Tomlin who had a miserable resume with one year as DC where his defense finished last in the league against the pass ? What incredible coaching characteristics does Tomlin possess that couldn't be found in any number of coaches ? 8 years and 4 years without a playoff win, a terrible defense and a team that is undisciplined and lazy is enough for me to want someone better. The same front office you so eloquently praise can do their own search, I am just an unqualified fan who you want to strawman to say Tomlin is the best choice out there.

Tomlin is a poor coach we can do better.

How many teams can say theyre better today at certain positions than previous years... ? It matters with wins and loses at the end of the day....

Denver, for example....better at QB under Peyton vs Tebow....better at WR...but worse defensively than the 2011 team...yet Denver is a perennial favorite to contend for a Super Bowl.

Indy....probably worse at QB than w Peyton...WR a wash...running back, deficient...defensively they are worse obviously than in the 07 and 10 season....but they are in the running ....IMO lots of teams are worse off defensively with the rule changes....its definitely affected us and its where we see our glaring weaknesses compared to the 2006 season when defenders could do more

Short memory, or selective memory? If Mr Rooney had not intervened, Mike Tomlin would've kept BA, effectively holding Ben back. Tomlin has no idea how to develop Ben.

Your opinion ..and you have selective vision....you talk about 8 yrs and 4 without playoff wins....his predecessor had losing seasons did he not....and absences from the playoffs.....HIs resume was horrible you say but it was good enough to be hired..good enough to be selected COTY......good enough to win a Super Bowl (and become the youngest in NFL history to do so)....641 winning pct in your opinion sucks, but the list of coaches with a BETTER pct is small.....

You point to his defense in Minny as bad...his pass defense numbers where bad because their opponents were behind and forced to pass...they ranked #1 vs the run and #8 total defense in the league....selective vision.

IN Tampa his unit lead the league is pass defense and interceptions (Bucs SB season)...selective vision.

See, so ive known you in the past to pick and choose points to fit your narrative of how horrible he his....youre running out of excuses.......

But give some names....ive asked you once already..of candidates that would serve this team better in your opinion....you keep shittin on the standing coach but wont offer up a realistic replacement. Wanna go the Chicago route ? Change for the sake of change ?

Arrow's pointing UP. One playoff loss without Bell doesnt automatically swing the arrow for me and many others....future looks BRIGHT..not gloomy as youd suggest.

QB - statistically Ben's best year.
RB - I'll take Bell over Fast Willie
WR - AB is putting up numbers that blow Hines away; I also take Martavis's output over Stonio's rookie year numbers any day of the week and twice on Sundays. Wheaton over Reid, Mays, Wilson and the likes also.
RG - DeCastro over Colon and it ain't even close
C - Yeah, I take Pouncey over Hartings, Okobi, etc.

Defense? Not a one. Although I think it's a lil too early to pass judgment on the young ones (Shazier, Tuitt, McCullers, Thomas, Williams, Spence) and a young Heyward is at least as good as 2006 Keisel.

I also take Suishy over Reed

Edit: Timmons v. Farrior is a dead heat statistically.

2nd Edit: I take Beachum at LT over Marvel w/a bad back and/or Starks.

Tomlin is a poor coach he losing to Tebow and getting hammered by 13 at home by the Rats is his legacy, that is not picking and choosing that is 4 years without a playoff win and counting. Next year we will miss the playoff when we actually play a tough schedule so I am sure you will point to Cowher missing the playoffs for 3 years without Ben as evidence that Tomlin is competent.

We are done winning championships with Tomlin, enjoy, the mediocrity.

So if we hired Rex Ryan we'll win more championships? Will Rex allow Ben to play better in the playoffs? You havnt answered any questions, all you're doing is posting same ol tired BS. While you're at it, what position does Tomlin play again? Nice that a playoff loss brings back all the clowns, you guys were silent during the 4 game win streak.
