Flores suing the NFL, alleges racism in coaching hiring practices.

how long before teams are required to interview a woman for coaching positions?
If she can teach the fundamentals of tackling and blocking, I would be all for it.

The Rooney rule was right for the time, perhaps owners needed to be reminded that there were qualified black coaches out there to be considered.
But to force owners to interview coaches that they have no intention of hiring, makes as much sense as Biden saying he will only nominate a black woman to the SC.

To paraphrase MKL, judge them by their character, not their skin color, or in Tape's comment, their sex.

One would be a fool not to hire the best qualified person for the job.

No, I’m talking about the potential violations involving gaming. There are several laws against fixing the outcome of a game and attempted bribery to fix a game.
Yes but thats why its a legal gray area… as the owner of a business, one could argue they legitimately do have the right to direct their business for the best long term competitive strategy … like there is absolutely nothing anyone could do if a team traded every player away and signed all bums off the street for a couple years and stockpiled high draft picks…

Texans showing interest. He very well could be their next coach.

Denver Broncos' John Elway responds to lawsuit, calls Brian Flores' allegations 'false and defamatory'

"While I was not planning to respond publicly to the false and defamatory claims by Brian Flores, I could not be silent any longer with my character, integrity and professionalism being attacked," Elway said in his statement.

"I took Coach Flores very seriously as a candidate for our head coaching position in 2019 and enjoyed our three-and-a-half hour interview with him. Along with the rest of our group, I was prepared, ready and fully engaged during the entire interview as Brian shared his experience and vision for our team.

"It's unfortunate and shocking to learn for the first time this week that Brian felt differently about our interview with him.

"For Brian to make an assumption about my appearance and state of mind early that morning was subjective, hurtful and just plain wrong. If I appeared 'disheveled,' as he claimed, it was because we had flown in during the middle of the night -- immediately following another interview in Denver -- and were going on a few hours of sleep to meet the only window provided to us.

"I interviewed Brian in good faith, giving him the same consideration and opportunity as every other candidate for our head coaching position in 2019.''
The Broncos have said five people attended the interview in Providence, Rhode Island, with Flores, who was a New England Patriots assistant coach at the time. The team said it has "detailed notes, analysis and evaluations'' from the interview with Flores.

Elway stepped away from the day-to-day football decisions last year when general manager George Paton was hired. Fangio was fired last month after the Broncos' 7-10 finish, and Paton led the search that concluded last week with Nathaniel Hackett hired as the team's head coach.
Paton and others in the organization interviewed 10 candidates for the job.

Brian Flores claims Giants’ decision to hire Brian Daboll was made with Bill Belichick’s influence

Flores contends that Belichick had more than inside information. Flores contends that Belichick actually influenced New York’s decision to hire Daboll.

“I think there are back channel conversations and back channel meetings that are had that oftentimes influence decisions,” Flores told Jay Williams of NPR’s podcast The Limits. “I think [the Giants hiring process] is a clear example of that. Bill Belichick is a clear example of that. His resume speaks to that. It was clear to me that decision was made with his influence. That’s part of the problem. That needs to change. There needs to be a fair and equal opportunity to interview and showcase your abilities to lead and earn one of those positions.”

The Giants, in their statement issued on Thursday, insisted that Belichick had no role in the process, directly or indirectly. “Mr. Belichick does not speak for and has no affiliation with the Giants,” the team said. “Mr. Belichick’s text exchange provides no insight into what actually transpired during our head coaching search.”

The Giants released a second statement on Thursday saying that they didn’t make a decision to hire Brian Daboll until Jan. 28

The Giants released a statement on Thursday saying that they didn’t make a decision to hire Brian Daboll until Jan. 28, which was the day after Flores had his second interview with the team. The team also criticized Flores’ lawyers for using text messages with New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick as a source of evidence.

"The allegation that the Giants' decision had been made prior to Friday evening, January 28, is false," the team said in a statement. "And to base that allegation on a text exchange with Bill Belichick in which he ultimately states that he ‘thinks’ Brian Daboll would get the job is irresponsible. The text exchange occurred the day before Coach Daboll's in-person interview even took place. Giants' ownership would never hire a head coach based only on a 20-minute Zoom interview, which is all that Mr. Daboll had at that point."

The team continued: "In addition, Mr. Belichick does not speak for and has no affiliation with the Giants. Mr. Belichick's text exchange provides no insight into what actually transpired during our head coaching search."

This lawsuit should throw the spotlight on the whole corporate\woke bullshit issue… the NFL has literally been pointing it’s finger, lecturing the fanbase on racism, literally calling all white fans racist. it’s really a captive audience… MLB, NFL, NBA, Nascar, on and on… where is the sports fan to go? But what’s really behind the wokeism is the “great reset” and racism is a cornerstone to the political shenanigans that’s gripped America. The ends must justify the means. But if corporations really cared about blacks they would simply fix the problems. simply hire more blacks, they have the power we don’t. there is literally nothing the average fan can do about systemic racism. One can argue if “systemic racism” really even exists, other than as a political issue. If the accusations made in the NFL wokeism ads were remotely true, those black men would be very rich, as they would have the biggest class action lawsuit in history! Any black fella that walks into a lawyers office and says I got proof I’m make less money than my coworkers because my race or my property has been evaluated to be worth less because my race.… is going to be a rich man! We have laws against racism already! except in the minds of Jesus screaming liberals I guess. I’m glad someone is calling out the NFL. this is a complex issue as to how all these organizations, companies, networks all began preaching wokeism at the same time as Russiagate, then the impeachments, then covid which all lead to one of the most bizarre elections of all time… which leads to my point… why racism? The ends (wiping out racism) justifies the means! But was wiping out racism really accomplished? No not according to this law suit! And as most black folks can attest to.. their lives are no better now than they were before the trillions of dollars were printed in the name of curing “systemic racism”. Sorry for the rant but can’t take anymore fake NFL wokeism!
Isn’t that just corporate America in general today?

So Flores is after someone here. So say if Flores is successful in suing, what does this mean for the nfl? The whole Gruden debacle, the redskins(commies) e-mail and Snyders shady stuff. Lol.

Isn’t that just corporate America in general today?

And to add to this. Politics are either infiltrated which explains an almost communist rule or the participation trophy culture is all grown up and out in the workforce now

Texans showing interest. He very well could be their next coach.

Well they better hire him now or else he'll sue them apparently

Hope flores goes postal and uncovers all the cheating under bellichit
What makes you so sure that anything Flores is saying is true? He has made a bunch of allegations and accusations. That's it. And everyone just assumes he's telling the truth because Roger Goodell and Bill Belichick and the NFL is rigged and we hate that.

What we Do know is that the organization he played for cheated while he worked there so he might have info on that , whether all his other allegations are true or not it doesn't have to do with what I posted. I agree he has no foundations for his accusations

And that pretty much sums it up. Because he likes coaching and because of his minority status, he believes he was entitled to a position. Club owners weren't impressed and ultimately went with candidates who they thought were better. As a result of him being bitter, we're witnessing the race card being played.

I think his suit will be panned quickly and rightfully so. After that happens, maybe Kaepernick can get him a cameo on his next social justice Nike commercial.

Lets see eight coaches fired six white two Black. Of all these the one crying the blues was Flores was the only one publicly was interviewed. Flores has decided to go the dirty route, pointing finger using race instead of being the better coach, bringing up being paid to throw games. You are doing this for betterment of game . Yet in 2019 when supposedly offered more money you did not report this or let it leak to the sports media. I notice none of his coaches are speaking up , the only info we have received is they had stopped communicating with him at end of season. Racism in coaching hires, Rooney rule was observed, fact Flores had bias of being interviewed because of the rule. This is all understandable, as he was reported to have had a great interview in NO. The finger pointing, of throw games, Elway drunk at interview exactly where does any positive come from that tactic to get hired or to help more Blacks get jobs. The first cry of sports world was coaches being hired never being a head coach. Leftwich pulled himself out of a job that would have been given to a Black never been a head coach before. This has become a what can I get out of it than what is correct.

Flores' *****-*** getting owned.

ARMANDO SALGUERO: BRIAN FLORES CLAIMS RACIAL DISCRIMINATION IN NFL HIRING PRACTICES, SO LET’S EXAMINE HIS HIRING PRACTICES

“In his CBS interview [Wednesday], Mr. Flores was asked if ‘clubs have the right to hire the person they think is the best qualified for the job or the person they feel is right for them?’ Mr. Flores responded, ‘They do. That’s very reasonable to me…’ That is exactly what we did.”

In his suit, Flores is, in part, calling out the NFL’s hiring practices because black coaches have not been hired at a rate proportional to the NFL’s percentage of black players.

The coincidence in this is Flores himself was in a position to hire coaches during his three-year tenure as coach of the Dolphins. And his record hiring minorities is not stellar.

Consider:

Flores had 20 coaches on his 2021 coaching staff, with 15 of those white and five black.

Flores hired four offensive coordinators during his time with the Dolphins, including co-coordinators in 2021. Three of those four are white.

Flores hired four offensive line coaches during his tenure, and three of those four are white.

Flores hired two defensive coordinators during his time as head coach, one black and one white.

Flores hired four quarterback or assistant quarterback coaches during his three years, and three of those four are white, with Jim Caldwell the only exception. Caldwell, it should be noted, worked under Flores for a couple of months but departed before the 2019 season began, citing health issues.

Flores hired one special teams coordinator during his time as coach, that being Danny Crossman, who is white.

Maybe the coach claiming the NFL’s hiring practices are unfair should have addressed his own first.

What is Darth Hoodie's hiring record?

Why did he know the Giants hiring decision before they did?
