Global Warming Pause Hits 18 Years

Global temperatures in the lower troposphere were +0.21C above the long term average in September, according to data from US company Remote Sensing Systems (RSS).

This means that the so called pause, or hiatus, in global warming has now lasted for exactly 18 years on the basis of the RSS data. The temperature trend from October 1996 to September 2014 is flat.

Scientists at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have demolished claims by global warming activists that global warming caused or worsened many extreme weather events last year.

According to NOAA’s new publication, Explaining Extremes of 2013 from a Climate Perspective, there is no discernible connection between global warming and 2013 extreme weather events such as the California drought, Colorado floods, the UK’s exceptionally cold spring, a South Dakota blizzard, Central Europe floods, a northwestern Europe cyclone, and exceptional snowfall in Europe’s Pyrenees Mountains.

The California drought provides a good example of global warming activists making false and irresponsible claims regarding global warming to deliberately mislead people who aren’t familiar with scientific studies and evidence. The liberal Center for American Progress and its media allies such as the Washington Post, San Jose Mercury News, Associated Press, and others have all published stories claiming global warming caused or worsened the ongoing California drought. Instead, what 'little evidence' there is for rising global temperatures points to a 'natural phenomenon' within a developing eco-system.

In an open letter attacking the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, he wrote: "The ocean is not rising significantly.

"The polar ice is increasing, not melting away. Polar Bears are increasing in number.

do you seriously believe that ****? Have you been outside in the past 12 months? I know that I live in one little tiny corner of the world, but last winter was by far the coldest I have seen in the 25 years I have lived in the Mid-Atlantic. The Arctic sea ice is no where near its smallest amount over the past century. Antarctica is bigger than anyone alive can remember. Why? because we are on pace to set the highest temps across the planet? Sorry but I'm not buying what these gubmint funded craphole number generators are saying.

Maybe you could explain how this article has the hottest September, August, summer, etc. on record and the data Spike says up a few posts is completely different. Either they are both wrong or one of them is.

If the polar ice caps, the temps in the troposphere, the burgeoning polar bear population, the lack of hurricanes and the damn cold temps aren't enough, please point to one climate model that fits observational data.

Based on the latest forecasts for production and utilization, world cereal stocks at the close of crop seasons ending in 2015 would surge to 627.5 million tonnes, up 8.3 percent from an already large volume at the start of the season and its highest level in 15 years
