How closely are they watching Fields snap count?

I dont imagine playoffs count as some teams are in and some out. That creates disparity. Often there is language like wins SB in these contracts or trades.

My questions is…
Who’s responsible for keeping track?
On both teams…

probably one of these administrative people.

  • Cole Marcoux Director of Football Administration
  • Aidan Hennessey-Niland Team Operations Coordinator
  • Tosin Kazeem Football Analytics Coordinator
  • Donovan Moore Football Analyst
  • Maureen Mannion Administrative Assistant
  • Jake Clancy Football Analytics Intern

The league tracks snaps, and it's only for the regular season. Post season stats are never lumped into regular season snaps.

We may start giving Fields 4-8 snaps a game. I want that in short yardage and end game scenarios. I also want to see both Fields and Wilson in the backfield on a snap! Pitch to Fields, throw down field. TD!

You can best believe that 'someone' is tracking his snaps. There's a HUGE difference in giving up a 4th vs. a 6th...
If someone in the front office is not doing that, then someone needs to be fired. With Wilson playing at or above the line, it won’t come into play, but if Fields has to start for a few games it could come into play.

The really sad part would be if they were forced to play him enough to have to pay the 4th, then realize they need to move on from him. That would necessitate using one of their 1st or 2nd day picks on a QB.

Really hope they have a package with Fields and a RB behind Russ for a secret weapon RZ package for the playoff run. Pitch the ball to Fields and let the dual threat roll out and RPO for the TD

That is the other thing people should remember... we basically have the playoffs made. You dont miss them at 8-2. Playoff calculators put us at 98%....
So it wouldnt be out of character for Tomlin to want to stay fairly vanilla and not tip his hand more than he needs to down the stretch...especially for teams we play again later

The whole problem is timing and the QB and receivers/TE/RBs in the shortened field. It’s one thing between the 20s. You have a lot of grass to use. There is no question during those possession downs, the shortened field is where Russ and the gang lack work in. He missed a ton of work during training camp, the preseason and the first few games. IMO, this is a contributing factor with the low red zone percentage. I’m hoping as the weeks progress, so does their Red Zone game

Exactly why I want him to wait to bust it out in the playoff run
Keep that trick up his sleeve

The 2020 Steelers come to mind. 11 - 0 and then completely **** the bed and lost 4 out of their last five games, and then got thumped by the browns in the first round of the playoffs. Still pisses me off.

practice makes perfect

IMO tgey should try to spread it out make the bubbles on the Dline obvious. Motion Washington or Little Heyward as a lead. What they are doing packing the box clearly is not working. If the defense invites one on one. Throw it.
