Initial Thoughts on raven Game

Our good pass rush is rendered useless when the QBs first read is already wide open. Jackson never had to scan the field, he just dropped back and released. Oh, he went to his second read once on the easy wide open TD to Andrews. Our defensive scheme sucks.

My main thought is, What did you expect?

Ravens are a good team with an offense that's tough to stop and the steelers were down 2 DBs then Porter got injured too so they're down 3 DBs. This isn't Madden where you sub in the backup and they do everything right. In real life backups make mistakes. Trice has barely played in the NFL.

The steelers have a plan for Lamar. Keep him contained and make him make plays from the pocket. For that to work, you have to have good coverage. You can't have blown assignments time after time.

With all that going wrong, Steelers still had a shot to win. If Russ didn't fumble, I think they may have won. That was the turning point.

We have an adequate to good run-blocking o-line and a below adequate pass-blocking o-line.

Russ ****** up. He's old enough to know better...protect the ball when contact is imminent.

I would have went for it on 4th down with 9 minutes to go and down 2 scores. You got nothing to lose...except the division title.

We knew this was coming—3 games in 11 days against the Eagles, Rats, and Chiefs. **** the NFL and whoever does the scheduling. What we didn't see coming was the damn injuries. Fautanu and Daniels. Marsha was right Taylor and McCormick have to be at that rookie wall, especially with this schedule. Pickens has been a huge loss along with three starters in the Defensive backfield. We'll also have to see if Porter's injury is worse than originally thought. TJ Watt clearly wasn't healthy. What a ******* mess. We have to get a WR early in the draft next year.

Wilson's turnovers killed us.

Yes they did, as well as a 15 minute Defense in a 60 minute game. As well as a HC who goes for it on 4th down by 7, then after watching the D continue to play like shyte, punts when they now need 2 TD’s.

Tomlin gave up on the team, pure and simple when he opted to punt the ball down by 14. If you can’t convert that down in an attempt to get back into the game, being down by 21 really doesn’t matter.

Too bad there are not real reporters at the post press conferences. I would have loved to been there to ask Tomlin, “Why do you expect your players to give everything they have, when you quit on the team by punting when you needed to score down by 14?”

Tomlin’s offensive philosophy is not something that will ever change, and OC’s will always be hampered by this limitation.

He is actually playing about as well as I thought his ceiling was. Today he made a decision his azz couldn’t cover, which we all do every day. We all over estimate our abilities at times, especially when we see a chance to be 20 again. Yes, he should have slid, but even I understand that I would have likely done the same dumbazz thing he did. After that, he was trying way too hard to make up for it.

Tomlin’s philosophy is that TE’s are strictly for blocking, so no need to cover then across the middle, no matter how many years he is proven wrong.

Heard that about thw Eagles game after the Harris fumble. Now perhaps....if both fumbles were late in the game. Both were not. In both cases each team then ended up driving the length of the field to score a TD. That perhaps could be called the turning point. My opinion anyway.

Sure he might beat the Jets, Giants, Browns, Bengals. The problem is vs good teams he’s average at best.

His two wins vs playoff caliber teams a 1 pt escape from WAS and a 6FG Boz performance vs Rats that required multiple mother Tucker misses to get him there cuz he couldn’t find the end zone once

The losses look pretty bad though

His ceiling is JF ceiling it just looks prettier
Problem is he’s old and not going to get any better

The Steelers won’t go anywhere without a legit franchise QB DRAGGING Mike there, the last one even had to draw up his own plays in the huddle to secure wins cuz MT’s offensive mind is indeed that feeble and he’s afraid of getting talented coordinators and allowing them to do their jobs without interference.
