Jackson extension?

Lamar won't be happy. I hope this generates discomfort in the locker
Lamar and the rest of the Ratbirds won't be happy. He played and risked getting injured last year and did. Now, the Rats didn't live up to their end of the bargain - so to speak. Other players in similar situations will remember this. I believe Lamar is well-liked in the locker room but I could be mistaken on that.

From what I've read they are going to non exclusive. He will get signed they will take the two 1st rounds and walk away. It might cause a team problem but I think it's the smartest move
He isn't worth the asking price but someone will pay.

I figured this is the move they would make. They talk a big game when it comes to Jackson, but do not seem too committed. I'm curious to see what other teams offer

Like I said before the chances of Lamar sustaining a career changing injury and becoming the next RG III are very high IMO.

Most teams would have extended their star QB for his final year, Jackson didn't hold out, played good soldier, got injured and got rewarded with a non exclusive tag and 50% less money than with the exclusive tag. It says a lot to the rest of the roster how things went with their offensive leader.

I would like to take this moment and hopefully one of the last times say **** tom Brady and **** the cheating Pats.

So, how would this work. Say the Texans give him what he wants and the Rats say fine, do the Rats get the Texans 1st in '23 and '24, or is it a supplemental pick(s)?

I think 2023 and 2024. But I bet Lamar would only want to go to a contending team.

I believe its the highest of their picks for two years straight and yes it comes from the team that signed the player

I thought it was about a 25% difference around 34 mill vs 44 mill. Regardless, I realize the players may openly criticize this front office move, the tv pundits certainly are claiming they (Balt. Org.) are showing what they really think of Lamar but I can't go there at this time until we see what kind of money he's offered and if the Ravens match it.

We have no idea what the recent offer was or what Jackson's demands are, would he have shown up on the exclusive tag. I realize there's always someone like the Browns to make a ridiculous offer and if true Jackson should be thrilled that Baltimore made this move.

thought it was 30M and 45M. 50% of 30M +30M = 45M. From my point of view, or Lamar in this case. anyway is a load of money

I t5hink the non-exclusive was worth near the $34 million mark where-as the EXCLUSIVE is worth near the $46 million mark. I could be wrong and just going out of memory.

the rats just need to pony up and pay the man

fully guaranteed at twice by rub and tug got

ToTally agree Coolie, $260mil X 5year fully guarantee with 6th & 7th year ($61 & $68 mill respectively) LAMAR option of he decides if he stays or not. Not a Baltimore decision.

This all sounds kinda fishy to me. All those teams are out on Jackson because of two first rd. picks? Carolina needs a QB desperately. The only QB left to draft at their position is Anthony Richardson. He is an unknown quantity at best. The only other way to get Stroud or Young is to trade down which will cost you 2 first-rounders. Why not sign Jackson and give up the two #1's? Like it or not he is still an MVP and is still only 26. Personally, I hope the Ravens give him 5 year @300 Hundred fully guaranteed contract.

I dont think its fishy. One was to mitigate a big contract is by filling a position w/ a draft pick. Giving up 2 firsts is decreasing your chances at that. Plus Jackson has a lot of question marks (injuries, accuracy, ability to win a big game, etc etc) The Ravens built their team around Jackson, not sure how many teams are willing to do that.

They were all going to have to pony up at least 2 first rounders to trade for Lamar anyhow. I can see a team in the back half of the draft order that might be thinking QB go this route. If they have a decent team and need a QB, they may do it. If the Skins go under new ownership, they may do it but Sneider won't in his current situation. I'm not sure who's left. This is all too funny especially if he only gets the $34 million this year. He could just not sign the tag and sit out.

That would further along his suck. I am all for that. Players who sit out a season and come back never seem to be the player they once where. Especially their wheels. With your game built around your wheels yeah sure go ahead show those rats who is in charge sit.
