Coached my kids Peewee team during the game. Watched the game essentially twice on PVR. Second time around I just watched Jones on defense. We can sit here till doomsday, and I can tell you that he will never be anything above at best an ok player maybe. When you teach a kid to block, you stand in as a rusher and you let him lock on and you don't make it too complicated. That is what Jarvis Jones looks like rushing NFL tackles. He looks like he is in a walk through. There was a run play where he was completely unblocked. There wasn't even a man lined up across from him. He flattened out and came down the LOS, had to readjust his angle cause he was late, then dove and barely influenced the play only impeding the backs progress a little. Must have seen Harrison make that play routinely like a hundred times. This kid is useless.

He definitely was painful to watch. Too many performances like that and I will be calling for his benching. Someone needs to limit these QBs time to throw.......

Bullshit he led the sec in sacks

Sure, we've drafted some undersized first round pick LBs the last couple of years, but we maintained our level of pass rush.

The entire team sucked yesterday. But, I am starting to lean against Jones. I am not seeing the improvement that he should be showing. He locks on with a lineman and that's it. He's out of the play. Worilds is a little better but he isn't that good either. We are still getting no pressure on the QB from these guys. Foles had all day to throw yesterday and they destroyed us.

Yeah, I'm sorry, but to me, its yet another glaring showing of a guy who was drafted way too high...not sure I could be more underwhelmed by his play, since his arrival to this team. Guy just isnt really that good

No. Tombert is smarter than anyone here. He was a good pick.

All of these non-fans are pissing me off. Be patient; everyone knows you can't judge a player's ability AT ALL until he's been in the league a minimum of 12 years. Besides, it takes at least 14-15 years to master any position in LeBeau's defense.

When you take a guy with physical attributes like speed or power, you can wait for the smarts to come together and he will improve. In Jones case he just doesn't have it. He can't get any faster nor substantially stronger. What you see out there will essentially be what he is. Because of his draft status he will be like ziggy hood. He will have to fade away and not be given a big second contract. Hopefully, he gets replaced by an undrafted free agent that overtakes him.

Jones blows and frankly, I think it's disgusting that he wears number 95. This defense is going to give up tons and tons of yards this year. The WRs better figure things out and get on the same page as Ben quick because they are going to have score a **** load of points.

Hate to say it but looking very much the bust many predicted

Could not agree more. Guy is just not very good and will be out of the league in a few years....you can bank on it. Simply is not strong or fast enough to be a player at this level.

I have never seen a pass rusher so upright with no shoulder bend as Jarvis. He gets no leverage and to think he will using his current technique is ridiculous. What the hell are LeBeau and Porter doing allowing this awful technique, rinse and repeat ?

The whole team looked pretty useless last night, if you ask me.

the defense was particularly pathetic, if you ask me

The #1's got *** raped by Mark Sanchez and his 2nd/3rd string guys.

I'll give Jarvis a pass on this one, 6 time pro bowler Peters has manhandled some of the best pass rushers in this league.

Has nothing to do with Peters and everything to do with Jarvis and his lack of speed, power, moves , countermoves and horrible technique. Every starting NFL tackle is superior to Jarvis one on one.

I think I'll agree with this statement. Jarvis just had a sack last game he played against the Giants didn't he? Let him get a couple games under his belt first against linemen he atleast has a chance against. Peter's has shut down the best of em, you can't really expect much here.

Against the Giants backup tackle. Alonzo Jackson had 2 sacks against the Cowboys in a preseason game. If you couldn't look at Jarvis and his awful patty cake pass rush attempts last night and see he is a bust you don't know football.

We'll see, since he hasn't actually gone up against every tackle yet.

If you knew football you'd know those patty cake quick hands can gets sacks in this league. You can't bull rush everyone on strength alone, if they could then James Harrison would still be a factor in this league. Jarvis is still putting it together but he just isn't there yet.

He does look pretty good jumping on the back of a RB 7 yds downfield from behind - that's gonna be his specialty
