Tomlin said he expects McClendon back this week. So, who are they going to take the hat away from; Thomas or McCullers? Personally, I think, and I'm sure many agree, that Thomas should sit his butt down and they should continue to allow McCullers the opportunity to grow/progress. It's not like Thomas is needed in the DE rotation. They have Heyward, Kiesel and Tuitt to rotate in those spots.

Thomas...without a doubt. The big man has shown he can take away the zone stretch play and be very physical with the best Centers in the league. We are going to need that with the Ravens.

As you all know I am a big fan of archer but at this point I take his hat off and give it to McCullers to stay on the active roster.

I didn't think about taking a hat from another position. If that's the case, I don't see why J. Brown needs to keep his hat this week. There's suddenly a glut of WRs that are being used and are being productive.

Would love it if they sat Thomas. McCullers is only going to get better.

I don't think Brown was active against the Colts. He's already become an afterthought with Bryant's emergence.

I'm not sure Archer is an option, as teams always dress three backs it seems.

It will probably be as simple as Thomas or McCullers, with it likely being McCullers who sits, unfortunately.

It might be nice to have extra defensive linemen this week with all the cut blocking the rats do. Even with Thomas as a last resort he would still be better than a very tired defensive guy that is better. I like the idea of sitting Archer this week and giving his spot to an extra lineman.

Agreed, they need as many lineman available as possible this week. I want to see Flucco picking himself up off the turf all night.

Its not a bad idea to dress an extra lineman when you have a guy coming back from a long term injury just in case.... last thing we need is to be short on the line and force feeding Thomas playing time

Isn't there potential for teams to pluck players from practice squads if they retain them on their rosters for the remainder of the season? If so, I wouldn't be happy watching McCullers being moved down and having a team like the Pats swoop him up.

i read somewhere we might dress 6 CB's and 6 S's(for Special Team play).....hell one of them can not dress...the way our special team play is you can put anyone out there to hold someone.

Justin Brown wasn't active last week and doubt he is again this season. Wil Johnson can play RB in a pinch.

Just because McCullers MIGHT be deactivated on gameday, doesn't put him on the practice squad. He's not going anywhere. There's the 53 man roster, then there's the active gameday roster of 46.

Archer sits and gets healthy as many here are saying he isn't healthy? His production is down? Don't you need production first, to be able to compare to, before saying his production is down? McCullers needs to dress and its as simple as that.

everything I've read says Archer is our 3rd RB. there is no way he doesn't dress.

Which btw is total bullshit. The NFL spouts all this stuff about how they are making player safety a priority. If so, then let every damned player on the 53 man roster be active so that more players are available for rotations, etc. thus helping to reduce injuries due to fatigue. (rant over)

Well, if you've read it, then it must be true. LOOK at the production McCullers has as to what Minni Arch brings. Pretty simple math. Now throw in that Johnson (FB) can handle emergency RB position. Even Miller / AB / Kiesel / almost anybody can as there won't be a call for emergency RB duties. How many can you substitute in for McCullers????? EXACTLY, none. I'm NOT saying Archer won't dress, but it does make sense to NOT dress him for this game.

Have yet to see McCullers get pushed back, and the guy has a motor and can move. Would love to see him in there when we go 2 dlinemen on passing downs, him and heyward

I'm becoming a big fan of DMAC and think he deserves more snaps. McClendon gets pushed around like a rag doll and Fat Boy Thomas does not get the push nor occupy two OL like DMAC. Play the big man more and rotate him with McClendon until it gets to the point where you just can't sit him any longer.

Start mclendon, keisel, heyward. Rotate the first two with tuitt and the mountain. Cam can go sit on the bench in case of injury

sit DHB keep 5 DL Heyward Mclendon Kesiel Tuitt Mclendon Mccullers.

DHB plays special teams. Unless the Steelers have a replacement for him on special teams, he is going to have a spot.

I would not give Archer a hat and give it to McCullers. However, Tomlin will probably sit McCullers

If Tomlin sits McCullers this game, he needs his ******* head examined.

I agree with Falco, sit Archer. The guy touched the ball one time in the Colts game and dropped that one. Let him watch and give the hat to Big Dan.
