One out of 10, down

Oh, and I also thought Famous Amous was going to be our answer at running back, and that the old and slow bus was washed up that year. Yeah, uh, oops. :) And I was trounced thoroughly for making that prediction, and took my lumps, Amous looked a lot better in relief than he ever did as a starter.

Conceded much? Were you the only one in the Archer thread posting about how TMC, Vader, Idioteque, Del, etc were the ones that were wrong? No? So why do I need to find a post from YOU saying he was going to be great, when I clearly stated that it was more than one poster... You are painting a pretty broad picture, thinking that a tiny third round rookie is going to demand all of this attention therefore leaving our PRO BOWL, ALL PRO WR in single coverage. If it were that easy, the Saints would have left Sproles on the field at all times. McCluster would open up the chiefs offense so much because he clearly can't be covered by a LBer, they must be changing their entire defensive philosophy to account for these other "similar" players that Archer was being compared to.

See I never said TMC Vader or the Idiot was wrong. They said I was wrong. All I said was give the kid a chance. I already stated when the pick came up I was thinking CB or Bryant. Took me a second to wrap my head around it. I knew who he was saw him play before. A kid who played for the Pop Warner team i helped coached played for Toledo they played Kent St. So I knew who he was for two years now. So once I thought about it I came around to the pick. He can return kicks. At that time I was hopeful he could return punts. Yes i do think his presence on the field can open up things a little for his team. Even if its just forcing teams out of their base defense. I dont know about you but the thought of Bell and Blount running downhill against nickel defenses sound good to me.

SteelersDepot, you mean the site AntdrewJosh gets his opinion from?

So because i post the article its my opinion? How about its just the news from guys who are at camp. Not once have you seen me say anything positive or negative. Just another news source. Take it as you may.

See that's the thing, they never said you were wrong. They said they disagreed, gave their reasons why, and they got attacked for it. Because they put research, and history, and facts behind their arguments, and what they got in return was, yeah well the Steelers drafted him so it will be different type responses. NONE of those guys want him to fail. ALL of those guys recognize that it was an iffy pick that came out of no where, for a guy that has a bigger hill to climb than most third round picks.

I didn't like the pick, didn't have a clue who he was. I didn't like the Jarvis Jones pick, wasn't thrilled with the Timmons pick. Timmons is one of my favorite players now, I have hope for Jones. I will cheer Archer on, but I'm skeptical of what he can actually bring to the table when the games actually matter.

My reasons for him to do well or hoping had nothing to do with GO STEELERS. And i can understand your point if i was the only one who felt like they were telling us we were wrong but the fact is im not. I stated that i felt he could return punts provided he could catch them. I was told with a doubt he couldnt. No way no how. Now its still to be determined if he can actually return them but he did look comfortable catching them. Didnt look nervous nor did he make me nervous. But others and me were called dumbasses for even suggesting he could possibly return punts. I guess you missed those.

well, see, no.

Including idiot in with TMC's and Vader's analysis is absurd.
you want to say that antdrew parrots from steelersdepot, but idiot himself parrots the exact same from TMC, Vader and some website that uses "advanced analytics" - which tape showed/proved at one point last season was a bunch of bullshit.

other than his over-the-top smarmy and holier than thou snarky replies, I have no problem with idiot. i jacked around with him regarding kobe because of his holier-than-thou conceited arrogance, whereas the guy virtually worshipped the air Kobe breathed. Then Kobe did his thing in Colorado and was tarnished. And, I believe it was to you, insaniti, that I told I shot ball with Jalen Rose once. Never did I say that that instance gave me keen insight into basketball. Not once did I say that. Idiot clutched on to the Jalen Rose thing and ... as you say ... went after me about it. At some point while talking basketball he smugly suggested that my shooting hoops with Jalen Rose must have given me some technical advantage. To which I replied "if that's what you want to think" ... and it continues to this day. And he cries about the Kobe thing. Boo ******* hoo.

then last year the ******** got onto me about Randall Cobb. You know since I watch so many Packers games. Turns out I was incorrect about Cobb being a deep threat, at least statistically. I guess I saw someone else run a deep route wearing Cobb's jersey, and it doesnt matter if he caught the ball or not, since Idiot whined from that point on that Cobb was not a deep threat and his stats showed he NEVER goes downfield. But, whatever. He can bash on others for something, but when it is given back to him...

Then the whole Timmons thing. He acts as if - and has nearly stated as much - that Timmons is easily replaceable. He's "above average" I believe is what idiot stated. Yet when I watch games, I see Timmons making tackles. Sure, he may miss a tackle or assignment, but ... oh yeah, tackles are a worthless stat that do not matter. And since he was an utter abject failure at OLB, then his move inside just shows that he quite literally was not worth his draft slot selection ... an argument that continues to this day.

So, see, idiot has claimed to be here "10 years" yet whines that he gets called out for his bullshit. His favorite thing to say is that he doesnt talk hockey since he doesnt know hockey and suggests that others not speak their opinion about football. Kinda goes in the face of arguing a defense for the smarmy holier than thou ************, doesnt it?

Once again, I'm not defending him. It's the dragged out, constantly bringing his name up, thread to thread love affair to which the charade has morphed into that is being called into question. I even said that he's a dick, and that I've had arguments and discussions with. He's called me names, I called him names... end of the day tho, I don't randomly bring his name up on a whim just to get a rise out of him. I don't need a history lesson on why you dislike him.

Hell I remember some of the stuff that was said to me years ago when I first posted pics of my tattoo sleave, a couple from you. I don't hold it against you, it's the internet. Big ******* deal, how about we get back to what used to make this place a great place to post instead of holding onto grudges for years towards people you have never met in person?

I once thought hell would break lose the day that idioteque and insaniti agree on something. Apparently not

Actually in the Archer thread there was plenty of solid rebuttal to the "history" and "research" that Idiot was posting. Because plenty of that "history" and "research" was nonsense. Such as the idea that it's somehow impossible to return punts in the NFL if you didn't do it in college. That's just not true. The idea that no one of Archer's size has ever produced in the NFL is also nonsense. The Titans just gave McCluster a contract. Thinking that Archer is somehow a traditional running back is nonsense...he is returner and a "space player" and he most certainly does not play the same position as, say, Carlos Hyde. Defining Archer is those terms is just plain dumb. The idea that kickoff returns are just about extinct in the NFL is also just empty hyperbole.

Mike Tomlin already unleashed hell remember?

you do realize that the whiny **** does the same, correct?
and twists his arguments and statements into golly-gee-over-the-top facts.

as of post 112, I shall not provoke the idiot from the point forward.

You know, you two are more alike than you would probably like to admit. It's like someone just needs to yell "I will pull this car over if you two don't knock it off" after the initial "he's touching me" or "he's on my side" type responses.

Idiot and Superman- I believe I speak for all of the SN message board when I say we would gladly get you two a hotel room, so you two can either ****, or kill one another, and move on. We can leave condoms and blunt instruments in the room, and once you both show up, you can decide which it will be. How does that sound?

Oh, and don't get me wrong, Idiotique can be an infuriating ****, and of the two I think Superman is less the instigator overall, but at the same time, if this goes on all year, I'm going to need to figure out which posts have to do with the current topic, and which posts are a continuation of some slap fight between the two of you.

Joe

that was an uncalled for below the belt punch

You better invite Andrew. It would seem to me that Idiot and Andrew need to do the dance more than Supe and Idiot. Supe seems to have accepted his level of "peace" with Idiot and takes him for what he is.

Im flattered but I think I will have to turn this invite down. I've moved on to either Insaniti or SteelerAl.

So "he didn't return punts in college' was the ONE criteria I used?

It wasn't the fumbles and injuries PLUS his lack of experience?

And as for McCluster.. as I said numerous times, he is taller than Archer, and touched the ball considerably more in school, and didn't have the long injury history.

Sheesh.

That was just a brief sampling off the top of my head. Your assertion that Archer suffered a "butt-load" of injuries was also rebutted along with your incorrect facts about Archer vs. McCluster (McCluster is exactly ONE inch taller than Archer, the two weighed the same and Archer has longer arms and bigger hands than McCluster).

Three notable injuries in his last two years: a knee injury that ended his 2012 bowl game, an ankle injury that cost most of his senior season, and a lingering shoulder injury that NUMEROUS sources claimed limited him as a senior. There was even an article from Kent State's own newspaper that questioned why it was taking so long for him to return from his injuries and suggesting he was milking the time.

God, it's like Cal Ripken and Brett Favre had a baby! In Hank Aaron's sperm depository.

Oh, one inch isn't taller. Oopsie!

Here's the thing about me. You have never once seen me UNINITIATEDLY just attack a poster with sarcasm or dickheaded bullshit just for stating an opinion, even if I think it's wrong. It's just never happened. But if you come to me with smarmy bullshit and ****-talking, yes, I'm likely to talk smarmy **** right back.

My apologies.

I'll give you an example, using the Randall Cobb model that Supe so often cries about. Randall Cobb is not a deep threat. Say to me, "Randall Cobb is a deep threat" and it's not going to get a rise out of me. I may correct it if we're discussing Randall Cobb, but you won't see any smarminess from me.

Now, say to me, "Goddamnit you're a moron. Randall Cobb is a deep threat; every idiot knows that, JIZZ SPREADSHEET SPREADSHEET!!" which Supe did that day, and yes, I'm likely to rub in your face just how wrong you are. Hell, there are about five posters on here who jizz their pants when I'm wrong about something; one even started this very thread when a player I like more than Archer tore his ACL. So I'm not entirely sure why me doing the same makes me the most arrogant ******* on God's earth, capable of causing deep, intense ***** pains throughout a handful of you.

Grow a ******* pair, people, and use common sense. If you're offended by smarmy bullshit, don't dish out smarmy bullshit.

As long as he's done tracking my e-footprints and trolling me on other boards, I'm fine with the guy. He squirts a solid nugget out every now and then, and he's usually one of the first I listen to for Tennessee and other SEC scouting opinions. In fact, he nailed Jerod Mayo as a top pick before anyone else I saw, and unlike me, he correctly identified that Knowshon Moreno would be a mediocre RB.

And he often stumbles into being a helluva funny guy. Quite frankly, in many ways, this would be a lesser board without him.

Oh, one inch isn't taller. Oopsie!

Yup, that's the extent of it. You claim that NEVER, EVER has a player like Dri Archer produced in the NFL. And then when you are proven wrong, you resort to saying "no, that guy is one inch taller" and ignore things like bigger hands and longer arms. You argument is essentially that no one sharing the exact genetic profile of Dri Archer (perhaps an Archer clone sent back in time) has ever produced in the NFL.
