They were rock solid today as it gets. And when Ben is kept clean like today he is as elite as it gets.

Just great work. And when the Colts blitzed, the line picked it up, Ben got the ball out quickly, and the offense moved the ball.

Gilbert should be nervous.

Someone break down Adams game please. What did he do well? I didn't see most of the game.

I wanna know who was in Mike Adams uniform tonight! Seriously the kid was light years better than anything I ever remember about him.

Heath or a RB was helping him pretty much all game.

Which suggests to me the Steelers will give such help for the foreseeable future, whether Adams or Gilbert is manning the spot.

I watched a few plays where Adams did not have help and he engulfed his defender, the guy just disappeared. Did not get to see things well enough to have any kind of a sense of how he was doing all game but a few of the ones I saw he looked good.

This. He had help from TEs all night. He did have a few good plays where he handled his man one on one. Not sure how good the DL was he was going against. It looks like they wore them down and then slowly let Adams have some one on one time.

If and thats a big if but if the line jells this offense will take us places... The Line played lights out to a man.

Great pass blocking and the way Bell runs is oddly a perfect fot for the running game. His hesitation and waiting for openings to develop dovetails nicely with an OLIne that is not good at drive blocking and opening large holes.

keep Adams in as the starter

Very good game by this group, they take a lot of heat so it is time to give them credit when they do well. I was amazed how much time that Ben had, I think on one play BB had a cup of coffee.......Nice game oline!

They played great but the colts have no pass rush I watched them week 2 against the eagles. foles became flat footed in the pocket because the pass rush was non existent.

In the fourth quarter the colts defense looked gassed on one series. If I am remembering the play correctly I think it was the long play to Brown where he was crossing the field and then Ben finally hit him with the ball. Ben was standing in the back of the pocket not moving holding the ball and it looked like he could have gotten a chair and sat down if he wanted to. It made me think of the raiders line when the snake was the qb, those guys could hold blocks so long one of the linemen used to say hey just move around a little bit let them think your worried.

That was their second loss of the season (they started 0-2), they went on a five game winning streak. Last week against the Bengals they had 4 sacks and 9 QB hits. They had 5 sacks and 8 QB hits against the Texans. They had 3 sacks and 5 QB hits against the Titans. And they had 4 sacks and 7 QB hits against Jacksonville. They have a pass rush, our OL played great yesterday, especially in the passing game.

The way the line played is what was supposed to happen when they drafted DeCastro all those many years ago. It is refreshing to see that it can work.

Lets hope (for Ben's longevity) that it continues.

If we keep it up against the ravens this week, the line may be something special. Way to pick it up Adams! Make the most of your opportunities, and make it tough to put Gilbert back in.

Maybe it took all our bitching on here to wake them up??????? Seriously, GREAT job today, now keep on keeping on!!!!!

Salute the nation

The running backs also did an outstanding job of blitz pickup. So things are looking up for the O line. With the Panthers game and yesterday, we've seen some real flashes with this unit. Love to see them consistently do it. This is the best our O line has looked since Bettis was still playing.

There were some sub par lines when Bettis was here, he just made up for it. One of my favorite comments he made years ago was to apologize in advance for running up their backs during the game. He put them on notice he was going through the hole and that they better move themselves and there guy the hell out of the way or he would run over both of you.

The line was superb. I hope t-man can review the coaches film and identify the Steeler who picked up a pass rusher who had some momentum coming from the right side of the Steelers' line, and was simply blasted. I could hear the contact in the television broadcast. The pass rusher looked like he ran into a brick wall. Shortly thereafter, Ben calmly completes the pass towards the left side of the field. I think it was the pass to Moore in the 1st quarter?

Yeah wingman, I remember that. It was the end of the Donahoe era. '98 - 2000. Specifically remember the play where he yelled at Jamain Stephens and smacked him on the rear. When Colbert came here, the lines were better. Particularly the 04 & 05 seasons. Bettis' last couple of years was what I was referring to.
