Playoffs *******!

This team took long enough but it finally found it's identity. That's why I couldn't bring myself to predict our record in that thread. Offensively, they can hang with anyone, but can they do enough defensively to keep the offense from having to score 40 every game against the league's best? Stay tuned! Lwob repus or bust!

I had to work today away from home and I did something I have not done in a long, long time, I listened to the Steelers radio broadcast on Sirius. I really enjoyed it, Tunch, Wolf and even Hilgrove provided a much deeper perspective that the out of towners do not hear when listening to the TV broadcast.

The info that we get from the network chuckleheads pales in comparison. I could not help but wonder if i would have a different perspective on certain players if I listened to the Steelers broadcast more often.

Great Win!.........I did catch the last 2 minutes at a Steelers bar in Austin TX.......the celebration was great to see. I t has been a crazy season, two steps forward, one step back, but that is progress. defense is improving. Debo was a force today.

I expected Jamaal Charles to have a good game, defense shut it down........Progress.....At the right time.
Was the Steelers bar Bikinis?

Well, that's what you call "backlash". When you do nothing but come here to piss in peoples faces after every ******* loss, and even after some wins, it builds this thing called animosity. That doesn't just go away.

Joe

Preach on brother.

Animosity?? For what?? Calling out out team's leadership when they were sucking ***?? Whatever...if people want to hold onto hurt feelings after a playoff-clinching win, then that's their problem, I guess

Yeah, but Indy kinda proved they cant beat the good teams in the league. Denver and NE are the teams id be most curious about hanging 60 minutes with.

Don't know if I'd be too worried about Denver in a shoot out as they sit right now. They have been relying on their running game so much that, like someone stated on here, I wonder if Manning isn't hurt/injured or something. Of course, you have to respect the fact that they've shown that they are capable of airing it out. But, of the two, I'd be happier to face Denver than NE first, if we advance far enough for that to matter.

Hurt feelings ..........? Its far from hurt feelings bruh....its the incessant bullshit whining over the same topic, play after play, game after game, WIN OR LOSE !!!! Criticism of Tomlin was warranted...nobodys saying hes above criticism, but it just gets a lil worn out regurgitating the same ****. Theres many folks here that dont like Tomlin...and its not too obvious because they say their piece, but then they shift discussion to X's and O's. And then theres folks like yourself, Idioteque, Wingman etc that constantly wail about any and everything wrong placed on the back of Tomlin. From his demeanor on the sidelines to the reaction given by players from a 5 second camera snippet after the Tennessee game. Claims made that hes not respected by his players to him losing control of the locker room (LeGarrett Blount ordeal)....it was all bullshit.

I expect your post count to drop like gasoline prices the next couple weeks....until............(we lose in the playoffs)...then it will be time to re-queue the "Anti" band. You cant wait to get your shots in, im certain.

Nobodys bitter.....we're just waitin to see how you order your dish of Crow......smoked, grilled or deep-fried. I only be disappointed if you dont eat !!! :-)

But I posted here plenty when this team was habitually in the postseason, why would that change?

And of course you chuds are bitter, its the ballchinians who by and large, have been taking things so personal around here

"oh woe to those whom have to read yet another post about someone's dissatisfaction with the coach, no more, no mooooorrrre"

Give me a break, its a message board for Chrissakes

I wish I hadn't had so much moonshine yesterday. Because I'd like to think I would have expressed my thoughts somewhat like this. Rather than taking shots at such an undeserving luminary of the board.

Listen, I'm all for complaining when things aren't going well, and looking for any possible fix. At one point, and maybe even still, I thought it might be time for Dick L to hang it up. I still don't know, I know he's dealing with less than ideal talent, but part of that is his system seems to take a bazillion freaking years to learn, and by the time a player gets it, well, he's off playing somewhere else.

But having a real, meaningful discussion means that when someone comes here and compares a very similar thing another team, or another coach does, it get's blown off, and we're all "ballchinnians" or "Tomlin Apologist" or "Ben lovers" blah blah blah.

I mean, ****, remember that Broncos game, Ben tossed a pick to seal the loss, and some ******* douche actually came here and said "That's why he will never be as great as Peyton, Peyton would never throw a pick in that situation....." Uh, WHAT? The guy did EXACTLY THAT in the ************* SUPERBOWL against the Saints before he ever became a Bronco...

And then to top it all off, some of those who come here to ***** actually admit they don't usually watch the games, I mean, really? It just gets too ******* stupid sometimes.

We all get frustrated, but coming here and telling "anyone who thinks this team has a chance of going to the playoffs" they are stupid, delusional, sucking the head coach or the qb's ****, and on and on, then when the team actually makes the playoffs, well, then we're all just supposed to hug and dance into the postseason as a happy group, right?

**** that. I am telling you, point blank, there are people on this board right now that are pissed we made it this far, they would rather see this team fail so they can come here and demand someone's head, and of course, be right. You just don't take that much ******* glee in shoving a loss in peoples faces, if you actually secretly wanted the team to win all along, that's just not how it works.

I think you're a wanna-be Dr Phil and full of **** if you sincerely think this to be the case.

I don't give a flying **** what you think. I do, however, maintain that the ******* glee with which many come here and post after a loss, and the absence of praise after a win, shows what they really enjoy.

I've known plenty of people who LOVED being miserable, so don't ******* tell me they aren't out there. And I'm sure some of them are right here on this site, if you don't think so, that's fine, as I stated earlier, I don't give a flying **** what you think.

Joe

well, to be fair, the Tomlin/Timmons Haters Club incessantly whined about people NOT posting negative thoughts about the team. Those of us who saw that our offense was good, but our defense was struggling were labeled Tomlin nut-huggers, etc by the T/THC members. Those same members were telling us that we'd struggle to make it to 8-8, one such member even stated he didnt care if the players tuned Tomlin out ... the same guy also stated he didnt even watch many of the games (or most, whichever he cares to argue about - fact remains he doesnt watch). Those of us indifferent about Tomlin were even called out. I'll readily admit that I did want him gone. Now, I'm not so sure.

People argued he couldnt build a team. Looks like he has his OWN team in the playoffs. And about to win the AFC North.

But, still, let's argue more about Randall goddamn Cobb, Kobe Bryant and other nonsensical bullshit that doesn't ******* matter. that is where the "animosity" comes from - when some dipshit starts being condescending towards others for not bending to their advanced analytically-proven opinion of bullshit.

Good, keep responding to me about how you don't give a **** what I think, it'll definitely prove your point.

It's a discussion board. Maybe you're not familiar with how that works. I'll help. I reply because I like discussing things. I'm not trying to change your mind, I'm discussing because I enjoy it. I've been here discussing for years and years, I enjoyed discussing back when we were discussing Kordell vs Kent Graham. I didn't give a **** what people thought then, including you, if you were here, and I don't give a **** now.

Occasionally someone will post something here that makes me rethink my position on something, granted it doesn't happen as much as it used to, but it does still happen from time to time. But I'm not here trying to win anyone's ******* votes, this is a discussion board, not a political contest.

Don't mistake my replying to your comments because I like discussion for me giving a **** what's going on in your head. They are two very different things.

Joe

That is 100% fact right there. We can go back and dig up threads after losses and see who and how many post they have about negative **** and compare to to the weeks we win. You are in straight up denial. But I will not be negative anymore. I can forget everything and just enjoy the playoffs. I will be in the Burg for next Sunday nights game, then me and my son will be going over to Canton to visit the Steeler's wing of the NFL Hall of Fame.Great Christmas present right there.

Why is it that when our team misses a WR by a few yards that would have sealed a game, it's always "well, it doesn't matter, we still lost, and blah blah blah" but when we pull of a win, it's perfectly ******* fine for you sopping cunts to come running out with the ifs and ******* buts? I wonder why the **** that is?

Joe

I would like to have an answer for this too. I LOVE to complain and be critical but after a win and playoffs? Even I am not complaining.

Well, except about Jarvis Jones, he still sucks balls.

Frankly I don't give a ******* darn what anyone else thinks about the team or whose opinions are/were right. I come on here for insight and occasional laughs, but I aint getting vindictive or butthurt over who hates me or my opinions... also PLAYOFFS YOU BITCHIN *******!!!!!!! Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Ben's knee says he is fine

that's all that matters

Beachum has a back ... Tomlin said Adams would be in line to take over at LT Sunday, but that Beachum will have to play through the discomfort. Good call coach.

I have bitched about Tomlin from the start because I did not think he was worth a flying **** at a rolling doughnut when hired. I still do not think he was when he was hired as he was handed a great team and only produced so so results. I do not care about the record. I will stand with the question that all the balchinians have never answered in eight years, what does he do well, or to put it another way what does he bring to the table.

I then had the outlandish theory that the Rooneys may have decided to not hire an accomplished coach but one with potential that could be developed into the coach they wanted. He would be inexperienced but they had a good team and good coaches at many levels and were likely one of the few places where a coach could be developed in this fashion. I have heard he was recommended by Tony Dungee if that is true that is quite a recommendation. While following along with the Steelers and MT one could see where he has gone from looking like the new kid in school trying to pick out a place to sit for lunch to the guy that is quietly becoming a leader on the team. He has not met with success at everyone of his endeavors but has with some. He is continuing to try and improve things and has gone as far as bringing back players from the Cowher years that have some life left.

In short he has finally brought something to the team that we can see this season. He is bringing focus and preparation to the team expressing that everyone will need to be prepared and involved to get better. He has brought focus to the team game and not the stats game a message that is echoed from all of the guys on the team. He is finally showing evidence of developing as a head coach and keeping his team in the games mentally. He may now be on the track of development and once on that track can continue to get better.

I do not think he was good when hired, but I think he is showing that he can be and if he continues he need not stop at good. The difference between me and the haters who ever they are is I can see improvement where it exists, the difference between me and the balchinians is I can see the flaws and the areas that need improvement and talk about them. The whole haters gona hate thing to me is nothing but a crutch to be carried around by a bunch of pampered under achieving excuse makers who toss that out to justify failure and lack of effort. The real deal find your short comings and improve them, don't make excuses, don't blame someone else look with in and get better. Two good examples of this William Gay and James Harrison. Both have looked at what they needed to do to improve and done so. Both are understated in taking credit for their accomplishments this year and have not been blaming anyone but themselves for their areas that needed improvement.

So that has been my position on this guy from beginning till now.

Agree. I hope so. I am no longer a huge fan of Cool Shades, neither am I calling for him to get fired, but I do hope the arrow is pointing up. I don't WANT my team to suck. That said, I am on record here as saying that in five years and probably ten, Shades will still be the HC.

Meh 99% of head coaches are barely relevant. Its not that hard to win with an average coach if you have above the line talent. Id trade the rights to the reincarnations of Don Shula and Chuck Noll for two quality cornerbacks in a heartbeat.

As I stated easily before. What does Tomlin do consistently? He ******* WINS! He might not do it the same way like Andy Reid, but good teams can kill Andy Reid because they know he's going to do the same thing every week!.

You know what else he does well? He builds a #1 offense. The highest we've ever had. Oh **** we can't run this week, I guess we'll have to pass all over you. Oh no, the pass is being shut down by the cover two, time to give it to Bell! I suppose if the best thing you are known for is unpredictability, it makes you that much tougher to prepare for.

Look out for this young D line, they make the LBs look better who in turn makes the secondary look decent! Kind of what NE always did with their piss poor secondaries.

I don't understand the relationship haters draw between support for your team and homosexuality. If that's the case, call me GAY for GAY!!!

Never been one for hugging nuts, they're too small. Though I'll suck on some chocolate salty balls!!
