Playoffs *******!

I think we have a few on our D line that could be special. now if only would could get some stud LBers.....that said a few of them we will have to wait and see i guessing.

I agree. Heyward is blossoming into a stud, and Tuitt looks like a keeper.

I had to work today away from home and I did something I have not done in a long, long time, I listened to the Steelers radio broadcast on Sirius. I really enjoyed it, Tunch, Wolf and even Hilgrove provided a much deeper perspective that the out of towners do not hear when listening to the TV broadcast.

The info that we get from the network chuckleheads pales in comparison. I could not help but wonder if i would have a different perspective on certain players if I listened to the Steelers broadcast more often.

Great Win!.........I did catch the last 2 minutes at a Steelers bar in Austin TX.......the celebration was great to see. I t has been a crazy season, two steps forward, one step back, but that is progress. defense is improving. Debo was a force today.

I expected Jamaal Charles to have a good game, defense shut it down........Progress.....At the right time.

we are here to celebrate the Steelers making the playoffs. Now of course the Tomlin haters want to cast stones and stir ****...but that is to be expected....

It was a Tomlin nuthugger that started this **** not one single Tomlin hater. So I have no idea what you are talking about here... looks like the nut huggers are stirring **** right...

I was not referring to you....there have been others who have been bringing up negatives instead of at least enjoying the win for the rest of the day...plenty of time to bring up negative **** tomorrow...

I understand that. But it cuts both ways. How long after they won did my name get called out and I never even said anything? It would be nice to enjoy a win but I'd have to stay off the board to do that because even if I don't say anything I get brought up and called names.

BTW I don't hate Tomlin, as I've pointed out many times before.

I don't think he posted Vader....he posted "vidiot"...I think....now if you want to claim that name we could change it for you.....

Maybe you need you bifocals checked? I can read just fine.

Haven't heard from them on this site all week. Probably shouldn't expect to hear much from Vader as his "Va Jay Jay" gets bruised when good things happen with this team.

as I said "I think"....it might have been another post I was remembering.....my progressive lenses are fine by the way...just got new ones

I am sort of upset that one of the jackass teams from the division is making it in with us... . I guess I sort of hope it is cinci as a wild card just because watching them lose in the 1st round again would be scrumptious, and even better we could maybe beat them 3 times in one season... which is always fun

Also **** the ******** ratbirds. all they would be is cannon fodder for Indy anyhow

So much love.

Nuthuggers and anti-Tomlin guys aren't going to change their overall opinions after one game, but can't we all just enjoy a playoff-clinching win without hurtling personal attacks at each other? Damn.

Exactly. Enough with the bitter crackers, enjoy the win, people.

See, the thing is, your examples of ifs and maybes didn't make much sense for having the potential to alter the outcome of the game, whether they happened or not, so they really had no relevance whatsoever to the argument.

What you can point to is a secondary that, despite a great win today, has huge issues. They allowed Alex Smith to throw for 300 yards for the first time this season. Better quarterbacks in the playoffs WILL expose this defense and take advantage of the big plays that are there for the taking -- no ifs, ands, buts, or maybes needed.

You can have 700 yards of passing if you don't put it in the end zone who gives a ****. We know this all to well. The Chiefs came in the game with the No. 1 red zone offense and settled for FG's. I will take that any day.

To me, the season is on Roethlisberger now. He is playing so well. The improved O-line and weapons have helped, but to me it rides on his ability to play within the offense and produce points.

People may look at the 20 points yesterday and think that's bad, but we only had SIX meaningful possessions (the final drive of both halves were kneel downs). 20 Points in 6 drives is 3.33 points per drive, which is GREAT. In fact the Steelers point production per drive is 2.44, is almost 15% better than any other season in Roethlisberger's career.

Take the Jets game out of the equation and we've scored 3.08 points per possession since Week 7.

The sacks are down (3 sacks in the last 4 games). Roethlisberger's turnovers are down (no turnovers in the last 3 games and only 12 all season in 611 drop backs).

This postseason will ride on Roethlisberger and the offense. We have to continue to play this hot if we have any chance. We have to continue to score 3 points per possession. We have to continue to protect the ball. We have to avoid sacks.

Do those things and who knows....

excellent post...

Ben has been outstanding this year....I believe he is primed and mentally ready to make a statement...not just for the team, but for him personally!

Ben has been playing well but will need to do better. So will the rest of the offense. He is playing with in what the defense gives him but the entire offense needs to step it up and continue to improve like they have been. They will be facing good defenses and will still need to put up points 20 points a game will not cut it in the playoffs. The defense is also playing better than they have in a while, I particularly likely the pass knocked away from a receiver in the end zone by one of our much maligned defensive backs that could have been a huge difference in the game.

Good post Del, and may I add that I think the key to our offense is getting the ball early and often to AB and Miller. I think the short quick pass is what is setting up Bell with the running game and Bryant with the deep pass. If you go back to the Jet game I think it took till the end of the 3rd qtr for us to get AB the ball more then twice. I think Ben is seeing things great and Haley is calling a good game but AB and Miller are the keys to setting this offense up, JMO.

Cmon, lets just enjoy the win, no need for the bitterness

Well, that's what you call "backlash". When you do nothing but come here to piss in peoples faces after every ******* loss, and even after some wins, it builds this thing called animosity. That doesn't just go away.

Joe

And, if Alex Smith hits that wide open deep middle pattern (where Blake was 3 or 4 yards behind) early in the third quarter, and the Chiefs take the lead, the outcome of this game might have been very different.

But hey, we're here to rejoice and congratulate the nuthuggers about how right they were, yes?

Why is it that when our team misses a WR by a few yards that would have sealed a game, it's always "well, it doesn't matter, we still lost, and blah blah blah" but when we pull of a win, it's perfectly ******* fine for you sopping cunts to come running out with the ifs and ******* buts? I wonder why the **** that is?

Joe

Question is, can we win in a shootout ?.....an offensive slugfest ?

considering we had zero turnovers and punted just twice all day, against the #7 overall defense, I'd feel good if we got into an offensive slugfest.
