You are too predictable Todd Haley! Just run the damn ball !

The steelers have to quit trying to play 70's football. keeping the score close and winning it at the end with solid defense and running the clock out is not as great a plan now that the offense has so many advantages when they force the passing game late. The old adage about how if you pass the ball there are more bad things than good things that can happen is long gone. teams like Tampa and Jacksonville have to be buried early. Sitting on a lead is for losers these days

The offense scoring 10 on one of the top 5 worst defenses is pitiful. There is no excuse for it with all of the offensive talent we now have.

How much talent do we really have? Bell is a stud. so is Brown. Miller is under used. Ben seems clueless at times.

line looks good when we don't hold the ball to long....

Guess im saying, Ben needs to step it up. see everything and hit the open man.

People are saying it's waay too late for that...over thirty can't or not willing to change...time to look for a trade while value is still high...don't give another contract...get picks shore up defense...Gradkowski can hand off to the two elite Rb's...pound the rock behind top O-line.

lol...line isn't great, but our QB and OC need to call **** or do **** that will make them a non factor.

The play calling/game planning just does not allow the offense to function to its potential, IMO. I just do not get the sense they maximize the talents of the personnel.

They need to use Bell more in the screen/short passing game, to the extent the Chiefs and Eagles use Charles and McCoy respectfully.

Also, Roethlisberger is one of the best in the history of the game when it comes to throwing on the run, and how many designed roll outs off play action do they run per game? They ran a mini one at the goal line today and surprise, a TD. It should be staple of the offense (being called a few times per half) like it was with Whisenhunt. The concept of actually designing the offense around Roethlisberger's greatest strength seems foreign to Haley, much like it did to Arians.

The steelers have a ridiculous rush avg and yet today they threw the ball 2/3rds of the time. Why? Throw the ball score touchdowns? You mean touchdown. 10 points against a terrible defense.

I think this team would be more productive if we made a real no BS commitment to running the football. I feel that the playcalling we were use to during the Cowher era would really help this team. We have two stud RBs and our O-line seems to be better at run blocking. Running the ball and controlling the clock also will help our defense. Ben should compliment the offense, not be the focus of it..

This team will never be physical and run the ball consistently under coach cool shades despite all his verbal diarrhea to that effect

The scouting report says you throw on the Jaguars. There was nothing wrong with installing a pass heavy heavy offense during the week. The issue is that you have to alter the game plan to what the defense shows you on game day.

The Jaguars were playing their safeties deep, expecting the Steelers to come out throwing, and Steelers kept playing into it, while they averaged 5 ypc on the ground.

Like Arians, I think Haley is OK at assembling gameplans during the week, but also like Arians, is unable or unwilling to adjust them if the defense shows him something for which he didn't prepare.

Haha, really we are going to sit here and ***** about Ben? He has a qb rating of 99 and is completing almost 70% of his passes. His career comp% and qb rating are right there with the great Tom Brady. Our wr's have dropped 3 or 4 passes every game, if brown catches that flea flicker last week, game over we win. How about Tomlin and company treat him like a franchise qb? Instead we spend thei entire first quarter trying to complete screen passes.

Three passes from inside the 5-yard line and only a field goal to show. Not Haley's greatest sequence.

I didnt understand the play calling either. The run game was very successful throughout the day and they just kept passing and passing. Then there were long periods of times when LeVeon Bell wasnt on the field...I actually thought he got hurt or something. And please stop with the dumb ******* bubble screens. Let your franchise QB go back and throw the dame ball. I see they were trying to force feed Dri Archer today which I didnt mind. We drafted him in the 3rd....hes got speed, lets see what he can do. I loved that they went for the kill on the last couple drives to burn the clock. Play to win...not lose.

Overall an average performance. Good thing we were playing a ****** team. This team is a work in progress.

The Steelers were doing a good job in the running game early on. Committed running games in the NFL work this way: the same play that gets you 4 yards in the 1st quarter gets you 7 yards in the 3rd quarter and 10 yards in the 4th quarter.

The offensive line just starts to wear down the defensive front 7. We saw the Steelers lines do this regularly in 2001, 2004, 2005. The Steelers line did exactly this in week 3. It happens with most NFL teams.

But if the offense is getting 5 yards per carry in the 1st quarter, and decides that running 5 times in the 2nd quarter and 6 times in the 3rd quarter is the way to go, then the 4th quarter is going to be like the rest of the game. The DL is not "worn down." The DL is stopping runs at 3, 4 and 5 yards instead of getting carved up and watching defensive backs try to tackle Bell and Blount.

This. Right here. The first 3 and outs of the first half were stalled 100% because of these retarded ******* "bubble screens". I'm not sure why anyone calls them screens, or bubbles, when it's 1 WR that's catching the ball, with 3 defenders and no blockers. When the **** is this ever going to work? I hate these play calls and each time they threw it I was yelling. Try a slant or something, throwing it to Dri Archer in stride rather than laterally so he can tackled at the line of scrimmage.

These plays need to be removed from our playbook. When they do work, which is probably 10%, we get 4 yards and pushed out of bounds. I'd rather just give it to Bell. Damn, just typing this has me pissed off again at Haley's insistence to use these "Lost pages of Bruce Arians" in every god damn game plan. YOU HAD AN ENTIRE WEEK TO WRITE OPENING DRIVES, AND YOU PICK BUBBLE SCREENS?! FUUUUUUUUKKK!

Ummm we called a **** load of these when BA was here. Now Haley is here and we still run them, hmmmm who is the constant in the coaching staff?

Perhaps you overlook the one constant on the field throwing the ****** bubble screen. Maybe Ben likes the Bubble screen...Haley came in, asked Ben which plays he was comfortable running from the previous OC and here it is displayed as a hold over. Why is everything planted on Tomlin ?...he doesnt call the plays does he ? If Ben doesnt agree with the results of this play im sure he can audible out of them or simply suggest to Haley "this play sucks and we dont have much benefit from it, so lets ice that play". You see it every game and will continue to see it...............likely because Ben likes it. Hes not checkin out of it.

There is no rhythm to the offense. They cannot score or even sustain drives in the second half of the game. It's no wonder the defense has such a hard time holding a lead.

****, no identity, at all. No rhythm because we do nothing to promote it. !st and goal from the 4yard line. NOTHING. Big running back, best thing our line can do (run block(, NOTHING. If we do get a good play, penalty flag, changes the rhythm. Discipline is the bigest reason we have no identity. Oh, and coaching.

Salute the nation

But the scouting report! The scouting report!

And please stop with the dumb ******* bubble screens.

You HAVE to check out of that when the corner is playing press which they were.

If this is the case then your argument actually leads back to Tomlin. If Ben is unwilling to check out of an obviously doomed play call someone needs to discipline him for that

That doesn't fit his agenda. Calls everyone out for bitching about Tomlin and Archer, yet incessantly ******* about Ben and Haley.
