The science pre covid says that February is tge peak of the respiratory virus season and the original plan for the lockdown was to be wide open by may so that the virus would spread during the months hospitals were less busy with other illnesses and because viral transmission is minimized during the hot months for a myriad of scientifically proven reasons ... part of the immunity plan for a reoccurring illness like a flu or cold is to have a portion of the population all immune at the same time... if the immunization only lasts a few months, or a year we sure as hell better open up soon... its better to have a metric ton of people get it through the summer then be immune through the fall than have everyone hide and lose any immunity they had and be a spreader again....

The perpetual lockdown dragged this out...
