Solutions to NFL dilemma?

I dont believe Buffalo will agree to a forfeit without being compensated somehow...

Maybe an extra number 2 or 3 draft pick?

Wife and I were discussing this at lunch. We don’t work real far apart. Thank you for the more detailed analysis. I think Buffalo forfeiting is the best alternative. Doesn’t screw up the schedule, Buffalo loses a chance at the first round bye BUT they’re getting a bye THIS week. If I’m understanding correctly.
They really do still have a shot at that bye… if Kc loses to vegas, and Buffalo wins vs tge pats, they would both be 13-4… then if cinci wins it goes to the 3 team tiebreaker and I believe cinci gets the bye, but if Cinci loses and only KC and Buffalo are at 13-4, then Buffalo still gets tge bye cause they beat KC head to head

Create another playoff game. Nobody gets a bye. NFL makes more money. We get in the playoffs. And yes, I know it sounds stupid. And I am not going to argue my point. But....hey....its something to think about.......

I don't think I have ever been so sick of hearing about a situation in all my life. I hope the guy fully recovers, but things like this happen in everyday life. And I don't give a **** what they do about the game.

A tie is essentially assuming the Bills would have outscored the Bengals by 4 points during the remainder of the game. How is that more fair than giving the Bengals a win?

Because basing the outcome on the score after 20% of the game has been played and the differential is less than one possession is so stupid only the elite of the stupid could think that a good idea. You do realize that the only ******* reason the Bengals had a TD is because they elected to take the kick to start the game, unlike 95% of other games, where the winner defers, right? So I guess winning the coin toss means they should be awarded the win?

Hell, why play at all. Football is dangerous. Let's just have 53 players per team show up in uniform and play rock-paper-scissors to determine who calls the toss, and winner gets the W!!

Glib? No it’s OBJECTIVE. They were winning, that’s a FACT. Its the only way to fairly decide the outcome without actually playing the game. I actually wanted Buffalo to win.

Jesus. H. Christ. Are you seriously this dense?? There is no "fair outcome without actually playing the game."

“Because the Bengals accepted the opening kickoff” You gotta be ******* kidding! And what was the reason the Bills let them score? And what was the reason the Bills settled for a FG. Woulda, coulda, shoulda but DIDN’T.

The premise is that the remainder of the game isn’t going to be played. Playing the game after this week and before the playoffs isn’t really fair to either team. Shelter just suggested that if it doesn’t get played, they will eliminate the game all together and the Bengals and Bills finish with 16 games. So go on about “why play at all?” Thats what it sounds like the NFL might decide.

They're now leaving open the possibility of giving all the playoffs teams a week off and moving the Bills/Patriots game back another week.. I have a feeling if they do this it's going to screw us.. Buffalo would then already know if they're the #1 seed or not by then.

THat
That was a ******* retarded article by Whorio, who is only slightly more able to form cogent thoughts than our own Flogtard.

It's like people forgot 9/11 and that NFL players, and baseball players, and people with jobs, etc. all could work even though 3000 people died in a vicious, unexpected attack.

I'm increasingly thinking the NFL is going to wait for Sunday and hope that there is clarity from that and decide then.
And that will look like they are biasing the decision to favor a team..
I’m super cynical how these weird decisions always seem to favor the Ravens … if their team wasn’t affected by this im guessing the forfeit would have been called already

The logical thing there if that’s what they want to do is to move the bengals bills to next Thursday and not disturb Sunday’s games at all… both teams have already practiced and gameplaned out each other… they can get a break then play and have over a full week until they have to play again

That's completely unfair to Florio. Yes, the guy is a nobody douchebag who made his career by bleating endlessly about a girl Roethlisberger banged in a bathroom, but comparing him to Floggy? That's low.

I apologize if this was already posted:

The NFL is a bit different than other sports given there are so few games. A no contest game in MLB, NBA, or NHL really isn't a big deal given how many games teams have to prove themselves. One game has a domino effect in the NFL in terms of seeding and who is in and out of the playoffs. From a competitive standpoint only, Buffalo would absolutely want to clinch homefield throughout the playoffs. They would not want to go back to KC for a playoff game and wants to play in front of their home fans. I just don't think a forfeit is a viable option and would see a no-contest as a more likely scenario. Then again, maybe the NFL re-schedules the game and the Bills choose not to play and forfeit.

I actually really like this idea, and really it could still work in Buffalo's favor to do so because if that game determines them getting the 1st seed then they're still technically off the following week because of the wild card games, but if they lose the 1st seed then they have to play the following week, still it should make them have to play to win this game as well. The only real losers in this scenario are the Bengals because they'll have to play the following week no matter what while all the other Wild Card teams got a bye, and I'm ok with it 👍🏼

Probably been mentioned already....BUT why was the same consideration and subsequent far reaching implications not generated by the apparent total paralyzation of Ryan Shazier on that same field in 2017?? The Steelers had to finish the game. I don't see this as too different, so why the huge difference in response?

I dont think this is correct, Cinci could still get the 1st seed if KC and Buffalo lose this week and Cinci beats Buffalo. Regardless seems like a fair solution because buffalo and cinci are basically getting an extra bye this week.
