As per the 2nd paragraph, I was reading the thread and someone, not you, talked about Tomlin riding Ben's coattails. Agreed. But what successful coach doesn't have great players? Did Tomlin get the most out of those teams, especially from 2014-2017? No. Another reason he shouldn't be here anymore.

Sometimes the arguments used frustrate me. I've done it too, but we are smarter than that.

All of them and none of them. I stated my feelings. You are welcome to blame him for getting an inferior team into the playoffs then losing. You are welcome to blame Ben for turning the ball over. You are welcome to blame whomever. It is all opinions. There is no one perfect answer. I just choose to give him the benefit of the doubt based on a variety of factors. And remain hopeful it will turn around with better QB play and the new OC he hired.

And really that is what you are left with. He's the coach. As a fan do I approach it more positively or negatively? The results have not been good enough for too many years. But I will approach this year like I do all of them, hoping they will be good...drinking the Kool aide like some say. But if they aren't, I can handle it. And do it again next year.

No pool here. But I'm feeling good. Completed a few big jobs here at home I wanted to finish this weekend, sweated my *** off because it was so humid, but it's beautiful now. I'm almost chilly. Nothing better than wrapping up some projects so fall can be filled with fishing and hunting and Steeler victories!

Growing up my Grandfather had a big garden. Loved digging potatoes.

Hated picking beans.

Sweet corn was fun.

Peas were not.

I love making fresh salsa. Years ago I had a pretty good garden too, and decided I wanted habenaros for some good heat. Away I went, got 6 plants and put them in. I could have had habernaros for a lifetime. My Grandpop never grew hot peppers. Lesson learned.

Losses are on both coaches and players

Players normally are the biggest impact assuming things fairly equal off the field (coaching and health) weather being an equalizer

A poor coach can certainly hamstring his squad and put them at a severe disadvantage vs a formidable coach…unfortunately the majority of winning playoff coaches are formidable which puts the Steelers at a severe disadvantage (should they get the needed help from about 4 teams and sneak into the tourney with their deer in headlights coach standing in his puddle of piss)

This disadvantage grows when the coach is predictable
This disadvantage grows also as a coach becomes too conservative
The disadvantage grows when the team is not ready from the very beginning of the game/prepared

Our guys step into a playoff game looking unprepared and not positioned for victory and they fail, yes they fail at making many of the plays but are frequently fighting an uphill battle from the jump.

It'll be alright either way.... Most teams are going to suck until mid October and by then we'll know what we've got and how we'll stack up. All thanks to no more two a days, hardly playing starters during a shortened preseason, etc. etc. today's NFL blows chunks, but it is what it is.

For our ribs we always grill and finish them off in the oven. Idk, that's the way they did it when I was growing up so I do it. Maybe so they don't dry out?
