Steelers offense

ADD in that the STEELERS did get 7 (total) first downs in the game............... shitsizzle.

Salute the nation

Warren hasn't been running better than Najee this year but the sample sizes are small. He is getting more looks receiving out of the backfield but Najee was always great out of the backfield as well, especially as a rookie. They just won't throw it to him anymore. It's ridiculous.

One thing to consider and we will see if it comes to fruition is we just played two of the best D's in the NFL and possibly the best 2 against the run. Hopefully, we can get a little run game going to help out KP.

Here is an example of the OL getting blamed when Najee misses the hole. Indecisiveness and stuttering caused that play to break down.

Looked like a wall of B&G and a wall of white. They knew it was a run and had everyone on the line. I certainly didn't see a hole there.

Look to the left of Darnell, see the U shaped/V shaped opening...that would be the hole. Quit dancing and hit the hole.

I think it was the first play after halftime. Kenny rolls out to the right.....and I think, finally they are rolling him out to pass on the run and alleviate The rush up the middle. Half time adjustments. Kenny throws one of his worst passes of the night directly to a Brown. It should have been picked.

I’m not gonna kid myself. I am very disappointed in Kenny’s progress. I expected a lot more. Yes Canada has got to go.
Kenny hasn’t been any better. I certainly haven’t given up on him,but it’s time to see some improvement.
It’s cause he cannot get into a rhythm. He cannot progress when coaching keeps forcing something on him that doesn’t work. Instead of adjusting they stick to the same thing

Again this is on Canada. When 90% of your pass plays are within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage the entire d is compressed. This is why no one is open on pass plays. no one can run the ball and our online can’t block. We say we played the 2 best defense teams. Nope. Watch the last 3 years, every team plays us the same way with same results, whether it is Pickett, Mitch or Ben. This is all scheme
Yeah, it would be kind of stupid for the opposing D to be anywhere else.

This single clip says so much.

We are just absent at nearly every assistant coaching position. This is basic fundamental coaching stuff. And we aren't mastering the basics.

I will not find fault with our skill position players when we can't block, we can't coach, our offensive scheme is college-level east-west crap, etc, etc, etc.

I just feel bad for Najee in situations like those. He had no option there. None.

I didn't see a hole either. Every gap filled, outsides defended. That play (hand off right) was designed for Najee to hit the B or C gap if you look at the right side blocking.

Fire Canada!

When asked about it, Tomlin said that since he was part of the offensive gameplanning, he didn’t think it was necessary…

Like many have been saying… Canada and Fitchner were just doing what they were supposed to do because this is the hyper conservative offense Tomlin wants… he just wants it to magically work better without changing it fundamentally

If that's really the case Tomlin needs to go with his OC. Take the DC as well.

What the hell? Does Canada have blackmail or something?

True, true. But his early season accuracy issues do not help. He’s missing a ton of the short easy passes leaving him 3rd and long.

The offense is putrid. Over 2 years of this garbage is worse than a prison sentence. Rooney needs to be evaluated for a concussion.
I’m thinking of the Joe Walton 1990 offense when for the first half of the season the defense literally scored more points than the offense.

Canada - He isn't an NFL offensive coordinator. Experts bash him on a weekly basis and 4 QBs have struggled to produce in his scheme.

Pickett - Although he doesn't have much help through the first two weeks, he's regressed. At some point you have to make a play and instead his performances are flat out bad. Bottom 5 starter right now, maybe lower.

Harris - He's incapable of creating. Watching Chubb and Harris only highlighted the enormous gap between the best back in the league and where Harris is at. He won't carry the team and may be the slowest starter in the league.

Offensive Line - WTF? They're back to being one of the worst offensive lines in the league sucking at run blocking an in pass protection. Moore/Okorafor are probably the worst starting OT duo in the league. I thought Okorafor was particularly bad last night. Cole came back down to earth after a good 2022 season and Seumalo and Daniels are massively underachieving right now.

Actually I think the biggest problem is the interior of the OL. I can't even begin to count the number of times that Cole has been standing around after the snap not engaged with anyone while a defender has a free run at Pickett or a RB in the backfield. Guards haven't been a whole lot better either. Not sure if they don't know their blocking assignments (with our coaching very likely) or they're just that bad.

The tackles haven't been great by any means but Garrett was neutralized for the most part last night and Bosa wasn't overwhelming week 1

Browns were putting 10 in the box at times. Tough to run against that especially against one of the better run defenses to boot.

You would be wrong. Canada is 100% the issue.
