Suggs gets fined

So did Harrison's hit on the Browns receiver several years back, but I don't know what it is?

That was under some defenseless receiver rule that was not being enforced evenly during its inception or change in enforcement. It also involved sending a message since he was publicly out spoken about it. There was also outside pressure from the concussion lawsuit at the time so Harrison had painted a target on himself and had gotten to the point of being watched by every crew in the league for anything they could drop on him. The league also dropped a rule to protect the defenders from Ward at this time as well since it is unbecoming for a wide out to knock out safeties and linebackers just not done you know.

Didn't see the fine amount...probably lenient,,,he is a raven, after all.

We heard over and over Sunday Night how Hairbaugh wants his players to go after Ben, head hits, so why would we not think Hairbaug teaches the dirty bush league play his team continued to show Sunday Night. I like physical games but when it comes to head shots, kicking and continued pushing after a play the league itself should contact the coaches of Baltimore. I was surprised and happy our players did not take the crap and pushed back.

He got flagged because the play had already been whistled dead when he hit Blount.

Speaking of the rats, jimmy smith needs foot surgery, he's done for the season; it was announced today. Thats a HUGE blow for them, their secondary is officially in shambles

I thought they called unnecessary roughness on the play or unsportsmanlike conduct. If a flag was thrown something was illegal, am I remembering it wrong?
The whistle had blown hence the UC.
Suggs isn't just a jagoff he's deaf jagoff.

Suggs was not fined . Anyone have a link to a dollar amount?

They don't hide their fines or amounts.
He said he got something from the league and they are planning on appealing it. No fine no appeal. Can't find that link right now, cause I do not remember what site it was on, might have linked to the gavens page.

BMTI.....you did mean adopted, not "dropped, right? First thing I thought of was the penalty on Hines for decapitating the bungles player.....iirc at that moment there was no specific penalty for the hit which was perfectly clean but completely devastating.

HAS anyone heard of the amount of fine on O'l T-drizzle? I haven't seen anything and am to llazy to search. thanks in advance :)

I think it was unnecessary roughness or unsportsmanlike conduct cause he hit him too hard. And I did mean dropped as dropped on us cause we were the only ones doing it a lot. But I see your point as well, if adopted is better for you I'm fine with it.

Nothing yet on amount. Nothing yet on Upshaw. I am just wondering if they are not being publicized until after the appeal process is over in light of the rice court action. If something changes in the appeal process it means less to explain later if no one knows what the original amounts and conditions were.

In real time it looked like a UC penalty with a blow to the knees. The refs saw the same and threw a flag.

On replay, I don't see anything that is illegal. Running backs are not defenseless. Especially if their legs are moving and they're pushing a pile. It looked violent since Suggs is a big man and hit Blount hard, but he wasn't dirty by attacking the thigh. Trust me, if Suggs wanted to end Blount's season, he could have easily done it.

We hate the Ravens and we're looking for more reasons to hate them, but this is not a play that stokes my fire of hatred for the Nevermores. The hit on Ben does, and was way dirtier.

Cope I agree with your last statement wholeheartedly but still think the hit on Blount was dirty as well

He wasn't moving the pile, he was actually being gang tackled and moving backwards so any hit from behind would push him forward and would gain more yards

Here is the most up to date list I have been able to find regarding fines. I copied the last two weeks but nothing on week nine yet so the nfl is likely delaying the info a bit, I would suspect because of things like the rice issue

was no need for his action hitting in the back as he did, not surprised he only got 8200 fine from God-del.

We can disagree on intent. It's the toughest thing to judge. What was going through Suggs head when he saw the play? Was it "Oh ****, he's still trying to get yardage, I have to get him down". Or was it "Now's my chance to hurt one of these ******* Steelers"? I can't make that call, cause I don't know what's running through that hamster wheel of a brain he has.

I'm fine with seeing if the league agrees that Suggs intent was malicious and deserves a fine, or is it a football play done within the rules as they are written, and no fine is issued. Place your bets!

Never mind. You win! Suggs with the fine.

Forgot to mention...along w Suggs, Upshaw was fined 20k, Zuttah and McClellan 8k+ from our meeting with them. Vince Williams was dinged for the same amount for taunting.

Holy ****, fine all the Raven ******* this week:

• Courtney Upshaw fined $20,000 for roughing the passer.

• Albert McClellan fined $8,268 for unnecessary roughness.

• Jeremy Zuttah was fined $8,268 for unnecessary roughness.
