The NFL is becoming dead to me. And it doesn't even bother me.

These ticky tack personal foul calls are killing it slowly for me. I have just about had it. Not just the ones on Troy and Mitchell, either. The roughing call when they hit Ben was crap, too.

The players from 10+ years ago must be laughing at the blatant pussiness.

I am almost done with watching this stuff. Seriously. I have no passion for this game anymore, win or lose.

Rant over.

There's plenty of us feeling the same way.

After the penalty on Mitchell, I changed the channel. I am done with tonight's game, and exactly as SS said, I really don't care. I am not angry, or worked up, or anything like that.

I just don't care any more.

Exactly....they call that ***** *** hit on the goal line a personal foul and AB damn near gets KTFO and nothing. The league is a mess....not even fun to watch anymore.

I remember vividly watching the 2005 playoff run with Supe at my house. Each game. The 4th Qtr of the Colts game took years off of my life. I literally was exhausted watching it. The Super Bowl win was excitement personified.

Now.............meh. I missed the entire game last week. Didn't bother me. I just turned off the game tonight after the flag on Mitchell. Don't care.

Thanks Rog

exactly how I feel. I texted my bro in law after that hit on Ben and said if that was reversed we would be pissed.

The Seahawks do not have any issues when they dish out punishing hits. This team is just bad and the coachong is worse.

I consider 2009 the last year that was football like... It really isn't the same game anymore and that sucks. I used to love the drama of receivers going over the middle - Hines was a master and Randle El could duck like his life depended on it. The Steeler D made you pay if you wanted to try that. Sucks!

On the bright side last years 0-4 start didn't really hurt that much. In 04 I would have been suicidal lol...

I'm with you 100%. This game is so soft now it's all about offense! My heart loves the game but I don't love the modern day NFL. I guess that will make me a fair weather fan or bandwagon fan but the game has changed for the worse!

Goodell has changed the atmosphere of football too much, looking for flags after every hard hit, KO returns use to be some of the best football.
I guess i am loosing interest like others on here, i dont even know who we play next week.

How about the hit to Flacco no flag, The game has been watered down by Gödel and the officiating is just plain inconsistent.

It's garbage. I detest it. I refuse to pay a dime for it. If it isn't on free tv .then i won't see it and i could care less. The product is ****.

I saw Chancellor make the exact same hit Troy got flagged for twice last week with no penalties.

I am just about done with it too. If they are going to start throwing flags in the secondary for every hit I will not watch it anymore. Captain cliche's version of football coaching is just accelerating the process for me. The team is going to hell in a hand basket and it will be a LONG time till it recovers.

The NFL is quickly becoming something along the lines of "Pro" wrestling anyways with made up drama a bullshit.

Sad to me. And I'm a mom of a football playing kid, so I more than understand the safety issues. But I said to my husband today, it would almost be better if they just went ahead and switched to flag football. At least it would eliminate the inconsistencies. Troy delivered a clean hit to the shoulder. Couldn't have done it any better. To see him get penalized for that just pissed me off to no end.

I used to skip some possible work days to watch Steeler games...I wouldn't even consider that now.

I used to really get into Sunday's and watch every game....not anymore.

it's becoming more NBA like every year....the rules suck, the officials suck, and are you realllllly sure it ain't fixed?

I didn't get home from work until just before the play where Heath fumbled. It used to be I couldn't miss a game unless there was something urgent keeping me away. Now? I watch when they're the national game, but the days of me heading to a bar to spend my cash are about done.

I'm feel like an abused child, I hate the NFL for what it's become and how it treats the fans but still I can't but help to watch it every week and just shelled out $225 for Sunday ticket.

If there's a silver lining, the worse the Steelers perform this, the easier it'll be to get tickets and take one of my kids to a game.

Yep...they have turned this into the Arena League......the NFL doesn't want their two "pets" - Brady and Manning - to lose any more SBs.....so they have to "rig" the game so that you can't play defense......totally unwatchable......

I agree. Most great hits over the middle have somehow morphed into personal foul penalties. Put a dress on the quarterbacks? **** it...just put a dress on all of 'em. It is truly becoming hard to watch these games. Add in the fact that the No Fun League won't even allow a crossbar dunk, let alone any other cool touchdown celebrations, and you've got a formerly rabid fan losing his interest mighty quick.

Where was the flag when Heath got nailed helmet to helmet and fumbled while in the grasp of another player, ie "defenseless"?

That hit was way worse than the one that gave them a first down at the 1.

He had caught the ball and was running, helmet to helmet no longer applies there.

At this point, I watch the games with detached interest. There is no emotion involved. If they lose like last night I don't even really care. The game is garbage...a poor excuse for what it was 5 years ago. To think like SS that I used to be so invested emotionally in the sport and the Steelers boggles my mind. It seemed like life and death. I can't relate to the modern day game.

I watched until half time and went to bed. I have never done that before but I feel pretty awesome, so - I will be doing that for any night game at this point.

Mini-rant ahead: Honestly, it is not going to be long before I stop watching because the product no longer resembles what I remember growing up. I get that things change but that also means I can change my mind and watch something else. It has nothing to do with the fact that the Steelers suck *** right now (or they were going to lose to the Ravens) because I lived through the pre super bowl era in the 70s and the dark times in the 80s too. Regardless, that was a better product overall. Yes, it was more dangerous. Yes, it was more violent. Yes, there was less scoring. Yes, there was less passing. Yes, it was ground-n-pound. No, it was not as good for fantasy football. No, it was not as good for ESPN highlights. However, you knew it was grown *** men deciding it on the field with much less intervention from the rules and the refs. The NFL used to like Motorhead, Dio, Armored Saint, or Black Sabbath and now has morphed into Katy Perry or Justin Bieber. Thats fine - its just moved away from the raw to the highly polished and fabricated to appeal to the masses. I still listen to Armored Saint and I am not able to adapt to the Justin Bieber era. Hell, I cant even adapt to Creed and Nickelback so I am getting closer and closer to that breaking point.
