Unfortunately, some of the main reasons it’ll never be eradicated is because it is found in every rap song, heard in trash talking between African Americans in all sports, and just heard in normal conversations amongst African Americans.
It’s tough to get rid of a word when it is used as much it is by the people that don’t want to be called it.

I was going to comment, but gave him the benefit of the doubt, figuring he had one too many, and just ignored it. We're all in this together and none of us is getting out of here alive.
The sooner we follow MLK's advice of character over color, the better this world will be.
In the interest of brevity I often use “black” instead of “African American”.
