Tomlin says there will be changes to staff. Outside OC as well.

It’s not bizzare. Shades has a long standing tradition of only hiring people he knows or used to work with. When you limit your hiring pool like that, it’s why many of them suck.
Frankly if I was Deuce, I wouldn’t have fired Canaduh, I would have given him a one year extension to match Shades’ contract and told them to go out and win some playoff games or you’re all out of here.

Boyd is a WR3. Not what the Steelers need to improve at the position.

Boyd would be ideal as our slot receiver. Johnson I just do not think is a #1, more like a #2.
Pickens is our # 1 and draft a WR in round 2 or 3 with the Johnson pick to be the #2. I just think Johnson can be replaced and he will be coming into his last year of his contract. That should be fun.
I’d rather move Johnson, sign Boyd and extend Freirmuth who will be entering his fourth year. Good TE that needs to be better utilized.

Boyd made nearly 11 million a year on his last contract. He's probably going to get around that number on his new one. An expensive, third receiver who's pushing 30 years old? No thanks. You can find quality slot guys late in the second round.

exactly. unless he's willing to take a significant pay cut, no way do i bring him in. he's solid on most days, but nothing spectacular.

Agreed---not only that ...he is a below average blocker, and the STeelers love to use the slot guy in that manner..
It's a huge part of their running game success....and actually robinson wasn't too bad at it.

Even if there is some hope in their eyes they should treat the position as that. That they don't have one. Really is the only correct approach.

Stephen Simms was a better slot guy and punt returner than Austin and we let him walk...and to make matters worse wasted a draft pick on this kid!

As much as things change in life that’s as much as some things just remain the same.
Sorry buddy, it’s ****** up that the majority owner of this franchise is simply not seeing what most fans see.
And the national sports media always say the same bs. “Mike will leave when he wants to leave”
Who the **** is Mike Tomlin to be in such a position. Jeez! Belichick with his SB record was forced out but this guy gets to leave when he wants.
Non losing seasons it appears are the new standard.

There are so many job openings with more on the way as head coaches get hired. Teams will have to look hard if they don't want a recycled name.
