Tomlin says there will be changes to staff. Outside OC as well.

I don't know, the Pats offense was worse than ours for most of the year. The Pats are lacking skill players, but Mac Jones was terrible. Not sure if it was Obrien or BB, but i think i would pass on Obrien
Still good enough to beat Shades’ team though.

The playoff game plan was almost EXACTLY the same as run under Canada, wonder whose plan it was all along.
Yep.....Even after they kept dropping the extra safety down into the box Tomlin just wanted to keep doing what his game plan was.....running up the middle on 1st and 2nd. Even though they anticipated Buffalo not to drop the safety down during there entire week of pactice. Of course Tomlin would have had to make an adjustment on the fly.

Everyone says the way to win in the NFL is to win while you're QB is under their rookie deal, well ours is going into year 3 already.

and with his stats, he's likely not to break the bank or have many other teams - if any - renting uhauls to drop money in his driveway

We’ve been getting burned up the middle by TE since Brady came into the league🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️ Obviously a huge problem that has existed for decades!!!
One that we had started to fix with Shazier. Unfortunately we know how that went. We have had a few better years against the TE's but it was coming at the expense of run defense.

Yep Slash, time to trim the fat. Cuts I would make and I’m sure one or two won’t be popular with the boys here.
Cut the following.
Mitch
Chuks
Harvin
Cam
I know, Cam is a popular player but a 23 million dollar cap hit for a player who will be 35, no thanks. He’d have to take a huge reduction in money to stay.
Continuing with the cuts.
Mason ******* Cole.
Pat Peterson
Trade for the best return possible:
Minkah Just too expensive for what he put out this year and I know he had injuries.
Dionte Johnson We can replace with much better. Bengals have two they won’t be able to sign in Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins. I would sign one of these two and draft a WR.

The gaping middle is likely more a product of failure to adequately address MLB and coupled with a huge injury rash. The league seems to undervalue the position.
It does not matter how the league values anything. Not even sure what that means.

The gaping middle is the responsibility of the DC, regardless of player availability.

What that means is like Running back MLB seems to have been devalued some from draft priority standpoint. I agree on the DC being responsible but if the players can't do it they can't do it. When we have compensated for the MLB in TE coverage we have opened up running lanes. It is a game of chess and we have at times been playing with missing pieces or pawns when we need queens. Other times we are playing checkers instead.

Cam has some words for you.

I do t buy that it’s that hard to stop TE’s…. Why do other teams defenses shut them down???

I wouldn't ditch Minkah but like where your head is overall. Boyd just might replace Robinson who is a liability as a patch catcher. I would see what the going market is for DJ that might get you some draft capital. Maybe a 2nd or 3rd.

I definitely love me some Cam but I think it is time. Peterson is too pricey to keep around as he is a backup at this point.

I think I would keep Cole unless you are free agent upgrading.

How about DC ?
His answer was noncommittal, but might

be interpreted as DC was open for change too.
He said they would have competition it wouldn’t just be handed to him. I don’t want any of those vets personally. I want investment on the lines and middle linebackers. Kenny or Mason will be fine with a new OC if they are competent. Build the team from lines out.
He was asked if he felt the 2024 QB was on this roster he said "yes." Also said the organization was most definitely interested in signing Mason. Also said it was a HUGE year for KP (in terms of needing to make improvements) and he said KP realizes that too.

In the last FIVE playoff games his D has averaged giving up over 40 PPG. You mean that's not very good?
To be fair, I can think of two games (Jags, Browns) where offense hung 14 or more on our own D with pick sixes, fumbles, etc.

Problem is, I think we all "hoped" our OL would be better with how they looked at the end of last year and the addition of Jones...nope, we got worse.

We expected the Offense to look better because of how KP looked at the end of last year...nope, got worse.

We expected the Defense to be better because we spend a fortune and added players...nope, got worse.

Regardless of injury, our defensive scheme/playcaller expects too much from our stars and occasionally gets it.
We still cannot stop a good running team that calls runs when we are in a pass "set" and vice-versa.
We definitely cannot stop passes to the TE because we haven't replaced our "Mack/coverage-capable" ILB since Shazier (and he wasn't especially known for being good in coverage in college). They replaced him with Bush (not known for coverage in college either) and guys like Spillane, Schobert, Holcomb, Alexander, Walker etc. We NEED a "Mack" who can cover a TE down the field. We seem to have some "Buck" guys in Roberts/Robinson but it would be nice to have THAT position settled too.

We weren't happy with the SS play of Edmonds after taking him to replace Troy but NOW have our all-star FS (Ed Reed type) Minkah playing essentially as the SS to bolster our sometimes crap-run-support with DaMonte Kazee, the worlds smallest FS alternating between FS and SS at 5'-10", 184#. All this because Keanu Neal went down and wasn't even as good as Edmonds, who was jettisoned and brought back due to poor planning.

Now, we expect Holcomb to recover from what looked like a career injury, to be our "coverage" linebacker? Alexander (torn achilles)? As it stands, we need a real SS so Fitz can go back to FS, and a coverage capable ILB. This, along with an outside CB to replace Wallace (who looked awful playing on the opposite side this year), just to get back to a starting 11 on D.

Maybe Rowe can stick at SS with Thompson as a back-up but we could do better. All I know is "listing" Minkah as the FS and playing him there are distinctly different than what we saw on the field.

Watching our discarded RG become an all-pro instantly in LA determines that our OL coach is "still" hot garbage.

Our punter "still" sucks, but he will have competition...again.

We have issues fellas, most of them have been around for awhile.

Agree with most of what you said there, but cutting Allen Robinson makes much more sense than trading DJ. Robinson was a huge disappointment in 2023, and cutting him will save $10 million against the cap in 2024.

id consider Larry Ogunjoby on this list. Not sure we could part with both him and cam tho.

We have been playing checkers for years, since Ray Rice was lapping Larry Foote, because the scheme never compensated for mismatches. The Bills TEs ran the Gronk/Hernandez seam routes from over a decade ago with the same result.

Cam and Larry O are both old, fat and often injured. We need younger blood there.
