Tomlin says there will be changes to staff. Outside OC as well.

You don't want to know. They interviewed the Panthers ex OC today. Hire him and I am definitely taking a break. You know that same OC that had that last ranked offensive in the NFL. It stinks of more of Tomlin's like than anyone else...
Agreed I won’t watch a single game if they hire Pitts oc

Wait a minute. Let me get this right. Zac Robinson gets announced as a candidate and it's "Good job Rooney and Omar"!
They then announce Thomas Brown as a candidate and it's "Tomlin going after bottom feeding yes men"!
Well, is it so outrageous to feel that Browns is a Tomlin bottom feeding yes man based on what we have seen the last few years? Is that really so absurd of a theory? Our last horrid, and I DO mean horrid, OC, who basically sucked everywhere he went, was added after giving Tomlin's son a full ride scholarship to MD and THEN hung on for 3 years, with an offense so pitiful it was generally laughed at week to week and yet he kept his job for 3 years. Canada was a Tomlin hire and retention the whole way (unless you think Canada giving Dino a full scholarship wasn't part of why he got the job in the 1st place).

Playoff teams jump up with points early in the game. Tomlins offense doesn't do that. And they can't come from behind. Even Matt Canada said so.
And then he spent the next 2 weeks saying his quote was "taken our of context." Yea right, Canaduh. Right.

What I think is that whatever went on with Canada, Tomlin AND ARll are responsible. Tomlin for hiring and holding on too long. And, Art, the owner, the caretaker, for letting it all happen. Unless, of course, you absolve the owner of any and all responsibility for the things that happens with his team?
I also think it's ridiculous to believe that the OC interviewees we like are "Art's guys" and the ones we don't are "Tomlin's lackeys". Especially since we know that if "Art's guys" flop, they will quickly be labled as "Tomlin's lackeys" and if "Tomlin's lackeys" succeed, folks will be hollering that they "had to be picked by Art".
I believe that it is a triumverate that is putting the list together and a triumverate that will pick the next OC. I guess that's unreasonable.

so how many OC candidates have been interviewed so far?

So, the perception of who is responsible for each candidate is based on whether we like the candidate or not? Asking for a friend.
Who cares who's horrible idea it was to bring in Brown. Would it make you feel better it people were blaming the Rooney's and Omar?

Missed the point didn't ya? I'll explain. The point was simply that I see a difference in perception based on whether folks "like" said candidate or not and that the "blame game" is started before they've even hired anyone. It's damn funny to me that folks are getting their panties in an uproar over who they interview... Interview, not hire. Also, I don't personally give a **** who y'all blame or canonize. I do find the double standard hillariously funny though. And then, there's the fact that whenever folks are called out on the bullshit takes, it suddenly becomes "Who cares?" Absolutely hillarious.

Thanks DIC.
Exactly. Talk to as many people as possible. Funny thing. Rumor has it that Robinson (of the Rams and McVay offensive philosophy) is going to Atlanta as OC under Morris. You think maybe, just maybe, the Steelers got wind of that and decided that they would interview someone else from that tree/philosophy to try to get a rundown of the offense's core tenets? I mean, it would seem to me that you'd want as much information as possible on the McVay and Shanahan philosophies as possible. Not just jump in and hire someone.

How many trucks did you test drive before you decided on the LS10?

The fact is Tomlin handcuffs all his coordinators, a big reason we haven't done a damn thing since 2010, so it won't matter who they interview or hire, will Tomlin allow them to run the scheme the way the want it?
That is the perception and appears to hold true.

That’s why no one who is actually good wants to come here.

From the description, you described Canada. 🤣🤣🤣
Canada had receivers that woulda made Bryce look much better than those Panthers clowns. When a geriatric Theilan is your 1 ya got problems. Their OL was decimated as well…Canada can’t make that excuse either.

But yeah, they both had meddling HC’s
Had a feeling you may be cracking jokes from that angle as both organizations have serious systemic issues

Ha. Yeah I didn't miss your point. The point you bring up all the time.....but thanks for the little explanation. As much as you are sick of their narrative is how I feel about everytime you put forth your narritive. It is what it is though. 🥴

Hey!
Leave Dino out of this!

Here, don't miss this one either. I don't give a **** what you think. Never have. Never will. Don't care whether you think I have a narrative to push. Don't care about yours. Will eat, sleep and **** just as well with or without your opinions of me. Basically, if you don't like what I have to say, you have the option of putting me on ignore. Instead, you allow me to (unintentionally, I assure you) live in your head rent free. So be it.

I don't know the particulars of why the Steelers hired Matt Canada, but putting forth a conspiracy theory about Tomlin's son getting a scholarship to Maryland being the key factor is a bit far-fetched. Tomlin takes home more money in a week than it costs to go to Maryland for four years. Think about it.

Perhaps not the key factor, but it certainly didn't hurt his chances of being hired.

Maryland has an acceptance rate of 52%. This ain't MIT or Stanford we're talking about here.

The last 2 OC's we had are perceived "Tomlin Lackeys". People want the opposite. Yeah a lot of people want Tomlin gone and it comes out in the postings. Your triumverate isnt unreasonable. But based on last 2 OC hirings, people are jaded.

Maybe they were the only ones recruiting him, besides it's the only logical reason for Tomlin to hire him :)

But Tomlin didn't hire Canada as the OC, at first he brought him on as the quarterbacks coach. Even though Canada had already spent the prior 12 years in college as a coordinator.

Who knows? I'm just saying that Tomlin could have sent his son to any college in the country that would have had him, and finances were no issue. The kid's at Boston College now; maybe Jeff Hafley will be hired by Tomlin in a few years. Then there might be some smoke to that fire.
