Tomlin still sucks

that performance sucked. He didn't have them ready to play last night.

So I can agree yesterday Tomlin sucked.

And so did the rest of the coaches..

and the players

it was a collective suck

We can only pray that if another 8-8 season (or worse) ensues, old man Rooney will finally wake up from his nap and send Mr. Platitudes packing

I'm confused here. Isn't it the job of the positional coaches to get their players ready?

Does that mean Munchak sucks because the O-line couldn't stop the pass rush?
How about Lake, since the DBs could only consistently collect yellow flags instead of positive plays?
What about Porter? We brought him for fire and intensity, and we got none of that. Plus his LBs disappeared, though 2 reappeared in the training room.

Do LeBeau and Hailey get a pass?

If you're asking me, only blaming Tomlin for this game seems pretty myopic, because that game was a systemic clusterfuck.

Pretty simple to me. You blame the head coach for a systemic clusterfuck.

it's starts with the HC and trickles all the way down to the waterboy. Total team cluster. Troy had a meltdown on the sidelines and they still ran the ball down our throats with their 3rd team on the next series. Pathetic.

We have been owning more and more of these crappy games and seasons under this moron and there is no relief in sight. Watching the two head coaches last night you saw one with a plan, a vision and a well coached team, then you saw Tomlin.

I'll be more concerned in the regular season. I still think last night the Steelers were forcing things to certain people like Wheaton and trying not to get hurt. Seriously if the defense is that bad during the regular season this team won't win more than 6 games.

Nope-

Much easier to blame a pre-season loss on the HC that youve been itching to ***** about.

Everyone looked terrible... Everyone deserves blame for tonight-> HC, QB, DC, OC, RB's, WR's, Ross Twp Cops:cool:

Pittsburgh is evaluating talent and working on timing and cohesion.........Philly was scheming and opening up its bag of plays. Chip wanted to win that Pennsyvlvania Cup.

Im gonna hold out judgement until after the Ravens game, but if we lose at home to Cleveland, ill **** turds of malcontent. Bottom line is we didnt look sharp, but now is the time to correct this problem and have them focused for Sept and beyond.

Right and when we are in the midst of our 3rd straight non winning season losing to the dregs of the NFL once again what will be the excuse ? Kelly took over a horrible Eagles team totally revamped their schemes, went 10-6 and if you can't see the difference in them as coaches you are lost. Under Tomlin we have no identity ,we try different things without committing yo anything.

So Chip Kelly went 10-6 for one NFL season and is now some type of Lombardi Jr.? Also, not sure if you are aware of how pitiful the NFCE was last year, so 10-6 was far from a statement.

The way you put it, you would have us to believe that the team went 1-15 last year, not 8-8. And despite what you may think, 8-8 isnt the worse thing when you are completely turning over your roster. Its a very young team still getting its barrings- so you can calm down a little.

Now if Ravens throttle us like the Eagles- then we have a problem...

If you think 8-8 in the weak AFC is OK then Tomlin is your man. He has never built a team from the ground up and has had 3 poor seasons with a loaded team and franchise QB. Kelly was also great as a college HC , is much smarter and more a leader than Tomlin and will have more success this year and in the future than the con man who was handed a Mercedes and turned it into a Taurus.

All of this based on a single ****** season ?

And whats with this "built from the ground up **** ?" If you can coach a team to a SB win or even GET to a SB in this league, youve done something right regardless of what players you have on your roster. Philly had amassed a shitload of talent during the final year of Andy's tenure and they did ****. Redskins too.........both, empty of hardware during those eras. So save me that "he cant build a team...." bullshit. In this league youre measured on Wins and Titles. Youll say Tomlin "lucked" into one............ill say he EARNED IT. None Cheating............

Then enjoy another poor non winning season under the moron. Bad coaches have won Super Bowls after being handed great teams, Switzer. If you think Tomlin is as good a coach as Kelly you're an idiot. Kelly is a great HC at every level he has been in, has a unique system he invented and is revalutionalizing the NFL while Tomlin is known for talking stupidity, having lazy, soft teams and trying to talk tough and making an *** of himself, Unleashing hell in December, his embarassing sideline **** last year and his deer in the headlights look when he is out of his depth.

But when everything sucks and no one did their job right, don't you look at the one common thread that they all answer to?

Do you think the fans, the organization, the PLAYERS think Switzer coaching them to a SB win tarnishes their Lombardi ? Do you think they really give a damn ? YOU DO, but youre in the extreme minority....and in the minority because its Bullshit.

Tomlin coached the team to TWO SB appearances, and won one ---thats rare air up there..............(if not for a few untimely turnovers by Ben and Mendy, hed have won 2)........TO ME, that is the STANDARD. Its a bit tiresome hearing the same ole detractors spewing the same old nonsense--like you can just plug any coach in on a loaded roster and win (ask Mike Smith about that....Ask Norv Turner about that...... He was hired to win SB's, he DID that.....in the eyes of the Rooneys, hes MET their STANDARD

If that aint good enough for you then hitch your wagon hitch to the Niners or go root for Hoodie --hell theyre the league darlings of the modern era. I for one hope and believe Tomlin gets this team turned around.........but if he cant, then he'll be let go in time. But stop piling the issues of this team on him alone. We still have a "franchise" QB that makes rookie mistakes--we saw it last night. He seems to escape scrutiny--how many SB's has he played spectacular in ? None........but he gets a pass every year. Yeah he carries us often but he stalls out often as well........ever wonder why with Ben at the helm we cant seem to avg more than 3 TDs per contest ? Ever...........or is it the coach again ?

Again, i dont freak out during preseason...ive seen perfection in preseason amount to 4 wins in the one that counts.............am i concerned ? slightly ..i expected more sharpness in game 3 ....but ill worry after week 2 vs Ravens. If we are 0-2 then you light the match under Tomlin then call him and the team to task..........

Im willing to bet if we start out 5-0, we wont see much from you, will we ?

How flat did the Steelers come out against the Packers , again that is on Tomlin. We will not start 5-0 this year even with our easy schedule and as you know Tomlin ***** the bed against bad teams so no schedule is easy. **** you, I ha e been a Steeler fan for 47 years and I know a POS phony when I see one and that is Tomlin. He has no ability to turn around this franchise and we are suffering because of his love for quick twitch athletes, splash plays and his inability to realize the trenches win NFL games not his player friendly BS which has grown stale and his wanting to be one of the guys. He is not respected or feared by the players and it shows on the field.

Being handed a young Super Bowl winning team with a great DC, a franchise QB and no gravitas to make changes and just go along for the ride is his legacy. Now that the great players have left he has been exposed and even Ben in his prime and DC can't cover his worthless ***.

Here's a little exercise for all the Tomlin apologists. Name another HC with a franchise QB that has missed the players 3 times in 7 years. Rodgers, Manning,Brees ,Brady. .......NO. Hell you can even go down to 3rd tier QBs like Flacco and Ryan and not see that level of incompetence by a HC.

I'm sorry I'm not buying the "flat" talk. There's not another motivator in this league like Tomlin. I'm not sure Lombardi himself right now would make a difference. Everyone's quick to say because we have Ben we should be making the playoffs every year but guess what... Ben is not the most consistent QB. And lately our losses HAS been dependant on his play, when we needed him to play just well enough to win he put up some stinkers and we loss. I know it's easy to go directly to the top & point the finger at the coach but try looking at some of our star players at times when we need them.

Better question- What is a franchise QB? B/c the 4 guys you name put up waaay more points than Ben.

Even better question- How many coaches have had a significant better winning % over the past 7 years?

We came out flat for the Packers that is a fact.

We come out flat most games under Tomlin and that is why bad teams can stay in the game and beat us.

I just gave you the FACT Tomlin misses the playoffs 43% of the time with a franchise QB ,no other coach with a franchise QB does and you keep making excuses. Enjoy the new Steelers under this POS, he has achieved our mediocrity the old fashioned way , he EARNED it.

It is never Tomlins fault when we continuously suck at Oline, special teams, clock management, in game coaching and poor situational football. What exactly is he responsible for and what is he good at ?

Switzer and Siefert both had better winning percentages than the con man. NEITHER missed the playoffs 43% of the time like the moron.

I'm not sure if "just about anyone else" could have coached those Steelers teams to those Super Bowls, but it's largely indisputable that Tomlin inherited a hell of a foundation with Roethlisberger, Lebeau and that defense.

What's clear to me is that the defensive personnel has gotten progressively worse under Tomlin and, despite multiple line coaches and coordinators, the Steelers' offensive line has remained, well, offensive throughout his 7+ year tenure.

Speaking to the motivational/leadership aspect, it is alarming how dependent Tomlin is on tired cliches to communicate. We fans are tired of listening to it. One can only speculate on how mentally taxing it has to be for the players to listen to that breathing, talking broken record every ******* day,
