Trubisky!

I heard Gmen was in the running for Trib as well.

If I am the Steelers I still look to see what QBs might be available. You want the best competition possible. In the meantime the need to snag a CB and C and continue getting that OLine fixed.
Maybe they draft a "developmental" QB in the late rounds. Somebody like Zappe (sp) or Glass.

Haskins is a Maryland native. Though he played at tOSU.
Congratulations on your kid graduating from one great university!!

I love it out there. Was there the weekend before last. Each time we go out, we party with the kid and his frat, etc. This time took our dogs. Here is Brooks the lab enjoying the company :)

this is true. i pray that Canada was basically sandbagging because maybe the majority of his playbook, he thought Ben wouldn't be able to run due to age...I dunno. I seriously hope that our offense looks much different this coming season.
If it does this teams management is horrible. They brought back an aging QB and the most putrid OL ever assembled.

Terrible choice Steelers this guy is trash much better options out than Trubisky, there is a reason no team wanted Trubisky last year or this year what the Steelers have is better than this guy. What are they thinking in signing Trashbisky

Uhh, okay. May I respond?

In his last 3 years as Bears starting QB, 25-13 with 2 playoff appearances, 65% completions, 57 TD's, 30 picks, 89.8 rating, 809 yards rushing, 5.4 YPA, 6 TD's, 0 picks in 72 playoff pass attempts. At combine, 4.67 40, 116" broad jump. For comparison, Watson had a 4.66 40 and 119" broad jump.

I look at this multiple ways. Is he better than Ben last year? In quarter 1-3 probably. In quarter 4? Probably not.

So hard to see how this ultimately shakes out.

But he is an upgrade over Rudy IMO and perhaps the Bills coached him up for the better.

Trubisky 2020 highlights. Gotta click and watch on YouTube

I watched the highlights and it appeared to me he isn't afraid of contact, can move quickly, can put the ball in tight spots, can throw down the middle and probably didn't cost a fortune. Honestly, he reminds me of Ben from years back. I'm excited for this season.(y)

Possibly better than what the Steelers had including 2021 Ben Roethlisberger.

This has been stated and debated since Canada took over.
It is of my opinion, from all sources, is that we never got the FULL Canada ( insert Tropic Thunder joke here ) due to Ben's
1) physical limitations
2) preference to NOT being under center and preferring the shotgun
We will find out this year one way or the other if Canada was hampered by Ben or if Canada REALLY suuuuuuuuuuuuucks.

I like it, Tom Brady wouldn't have saved the Bears. Big upgrade from Mason. Mitch never had any weapons in Chicago, plus he's use to a below average run game.

This moves suggest that not only do we still draft a QB (Trubisky is a known bridge option), but that they will likely draft Willis if possible.

The offense required for Mitch to be successful would be almost identical to the one required for Willis. So the transition would be nearly seamless.

I disagree. It means they won't reach for a QB. Definitely no trading up for a QB and unless they are truly in love with one of these guys (for some dumb reason), they won't pick him unless he falls to 20. Hopefully, it means they don't draft any of the QB's this year and they fill the other holes they have first. That is the logical move anyway.

Steelers should consider Willis if and ONLY if he falls to 52. Too damn many needs in a draft with very good prospects at those positions - RT, G, ILB, CB, S, DT, WR. Too damn many holes for a team to use #20 on a guy to sit on the bench for 20% to 40% of his rookie contract.

I agree- this trade suggests that they do not to reach. It also masks the scent of desperation, which means less teams trying to front run the Steelers.

But if Malik is there, its tough to imagine him not being the pick.

Please list the "better options out there".

I am not even saying Willis is the man- but those holes that you mention mean very little if you have a hole at the QB spot.

This is funny. I'm going to LMAO if Haskins beats them all. Just saying...
I know you are a Haskins pimp, so I’ll bet you a 6 month subscription payment against a 3 month one he isn‘t the opening game starter.

I hope this is very far from the case... Any QB in this draft is a reach in the first round... I'm not against taking one but I would rather see it 2nd round or down. This gives the Steelers a chance to shy away from this not so good QB class and fill other needs.
