is that Hal from space odissey?
is that Hal from space odissey?
I think the right coordinator gets that defense much closer to #1. Hiring a guy that has failed everywhere he’s been to be our DC isn’t necessarily a winning strategy. So Cleveland is paying their QB an obscene amount of $ and yet they are so far under the cap ($25 mill). We are paying literal peanuts for our QBs and yet we are only $15 million under the cap. So much for Tomlin's master plan of offering the most expensive defense in the NFL and what that gets you. We were 21st in D last year while Cleveland was #1. But we paid more $ than ANY NFL team for our D. That's great Tomlin, way to go. No wonder players love you: You pay the most and expect very little. But then offer snappy quips on top! Who can beat that?
Ok follow this ...So Cleveland is paying their QB an obscene amount of $ and yet they are so far under the cap ($25 mill). Tomlin likes "Yes men" for his DC's. Ever since Tomlin started digging his fingers into the defense it has slowly gotten worse until now we see what we have...I think the right coordinator gets that defense much closer to #1. factsOk follow this ...
This year 2024 the steelers have 16 million in space and tge Browns have 29 million.. BUT
In 2025
Steelers have 78 million in cap space
The browns are at -60 million over
In 2026
Steelers have 178 million in cap space
The browns are at -15 million over
In 2027
Steelers have 278 million in cap space
The browns have 175 million in cap space
Meaning over the next 4 years.. the browns have a total cap space( not per year) of 129 million dollars ( with some contracts already pushed out to 2028) that has anticipated cap increases included already...
The Steelers in the same timeframe, have 550 million dollars.. and if both our QBs blow, we arent stuck paying them a zillion dollars till the end of time
550>129...
hope that comes with a home town discount. Aiyuk's plan is to get tomlin's dna to confirm something on his mindThey are trying to find a 3rd team to get 9ers the WR they want. Great job by Kahn not giving up our WR's or TE. He will not sign a extension with the bad teams. The Pats offered him the bank. He wants to be a Steeler, hope they get it done. If we let go of Daniels or Moore we would get comp pics for them also to soften the blow on the picks we have to trade.
That is assuming that the current DC is the one making the gameplan and implementing it.I think the right coordinator gets that defense much closer to #1. Hiring a guy that has failed everywhere he’s been to be our DC isn’t necessarily a winning strategy.
Im pretty sure Tomlin doesnt pay the players or do the contracts. So Cleveland is paying their QB an obscene amount of $ and yet they are so far under the cap ($25 mill). I am perplexed with the dislike of Austin. Is he Dick LeBeau? No. But in 2 years as DC, they have been 9-8 and 10-7 with a playoff appearance while having a terrible offense. He has also had TJ Watt out a number of games and then when he did play not himself his first year, Minkah and Heyward hurt a lot in his second year, and they were pulling safeties off of the street. They had terrible ILB play his first year, and when it got better his second year, they all got hurt. Its a cheap shot to rip him. I think he's done a solid job.I think the right coordinator gets that defense much closer to #1. Hiring a guy that has failed everywhere he’s been to be our DC isn’t necessarily a winning strategy.
what are the NFL averages each season? The benefit is relative, not actual ( ordinal, not cardinal for those figure skating fans)Ok follow this ...

not a bad take.I am perplexed with the dislike of Austin. Is he Dick LeBeau? No. But in 2 years as DC, they have been 9-8 and 10-7 with a playoff appearance while having a terrible offense. CBS report on this suggest that 9ers want 2 firsts and a WR body. That cannot be the same ballpark
That's too much.CBS report on this suggest that 9ers want 2 firsts and a WR body. That cannot be the same ballpark Omar is in.
We've had 16 years of rinse and repeat for this team, one more?IMO, you cannot have a top rated defense if you are on the field the whole game because your offense stinks. Our offense has not provided enough time of possession to benefit our defense, Likewise, IF the defense IS leading in number of plays defensed, their stats will increase (both the good ones and the bad ones).
IF we can establish time of possession this season, we will see what HCMT's defense is capable of, IMO. If not, we will see a rinse/repeat of the last few years.
I don't think having/not-having a 30M receiver changes the offenses ability to control the clock. A second dynamic TE might though, assuming we run a similar offense to what Smith ran in Tennessee. Time will tell.
All the way to 21st in 2023. With THE most expensive D in the NFL. Way to go mediocre Mike. Everything you touch turns to mediocre. EVERYTHING.Tomlin likes "Yes men" for his DC's. Yea but does this DC kiss Shade @ss? That's what's most important on this team. You must kiss Shade @ss, that's what matters most.I think the right coordinator gets that defense much closer to #1. Hiring a guy that has failed everywhere he’s been to be our DC isn’t necessarily a winning strategy.
you are so ******* full of ****Yea but does this DC kiss Shade @ss? That's what's most important on this team. You must kiss Shade @ss, that's what matters most.
Yeah but they have a gazillion dollars invested and a lot of people don't like the passive bend don't break no splash play mentality.I am perplexed with the dislike of Austin. Is he Dick LeBeau? No. But in 2 years as DC, they have been 9-8 and 10-7 with a playoff appearance while having a terrible offense. You can go to "over the cap" and they have a list of teams projected cap space out to 2027what are the NFL averages each season? The benefit is relative, not actual ( ordinal, not cardinal for those figure skating fans)
