Double posting excludes you (lifetime) from being an SN Elite. Sorry about your luck.

oh no no, I'm self-appointed. No one asked me, and I asked no one.

I could be incorrect, but I think we won the game. I was there and could have sworn we did. Though I will defer to the SN Elite on this topic as there is probably an instance that the win/loss doesn't exactly reflect the bottom line. I've not seen this alleged video where Tomlin is annoyingly waved off, so I will reserve my judgement until after seeing it, though I have been told that those types of things do not matter.

It was an odd locker room scene.

Given what seems to have gone on with Blount, if it occurred before the video, there was, probably, some let down after the game. Oh, never mind. It meant the players have no respect for Tomlin.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Superman again.

I love conspiracies!!!

Ah. Ok. So he's gone. Obviously the SN Elite were fully aware of all of this and fully support it.

Though it's a non-issue since he's a situational role player and there's no need to dedicate bandwidth to this.

If Tomlin had waited until after the season, would he get ceremonial back pats?

Not sure. But it's alarming that he requires back-pats for his every move within one hour, FIRM.

Does that seem like a good sign? I wonder if Pat fans troll for richly satisfying "Yay Belichick!" posts every time he benches or cuts someone.

So does Tomlin get any credit for cutting Blount loose?
I've been very critical of Tomlin, but yes, he gets alot of credit from me for cutting him loose, especially considering we have no back up.

Personally, I don't think Tomlin gives a flying _______ if people on here want to pat him on the back, tar and feather him, etc. etc. etc. I know if I were him, I wouldn't.

Gonna see what lil Dri can do and just brought up Josh Harris from practice squad.

Interesting things about the game in my opinion.

The titans were very well prepared for the game. Three members of the coaching staff were formerly with the steelers as was at least one of their players. They did the best they could with what they had and made a tight game out of it. Their game plan was simple have as big an impact of the steelers most dangerous weapon lately the passing attack. They were not able to take it away completely but were able to severely restrict it thanks to some good effort on their part and several non calls by the zebras.

On offense they attacked the weakest part of the steelers team the secondary, which was playing the bottom of the depth chart. Their offensive line did an excellent job against the steelers. In past drafts I hoped two of the starters on Tenn's line would have fallen to Pittsburgh, Levin left tackle, and Womack, but we did not have the chance to get them. They did a fairly good job with a rookie qb and if he continues to develop they may have a good one there.

The steelers did something I have not seen for a while. They played a decent first series and after some non calls by the zebras on pass interference or at least illegal contact past five yards they still came away with three points. The next series gay got six. The titans got down the field and scored, and with the help of a blown coverage took the lead and the momentum. The steelers did not go in the tank. They continued to play to win and remained patient. It appeared adjustments were made and executed at a fairly decent level. The steelers were playing with lots of injuries and back ups on the field but game planned to make the most of what they had.

It might have been a close game and an ugly game but I thought it was one of the better games they have played in a while.

The release of Blount may have sent a message to the team and the folks that decided to do that should be commended. We do not know who is responsible for it at this point, it could have been Tomlin, it could have been one of the Rooneys ordering it to happen and I really suspect that to be the case at this juncture. My reason for saying that is that personnel decisions at this point in the season are likely handled by the owners who are involved in the decision process with coaches, it does not mean that Tomlin may not have been lobbying for this course of action.

Over all the team made adjustments and faced a team that did not quit on them and played them hard for the whole game. Sometimes good coaching looks like this you adjust and take what you can and win.

As to the last two minutes the titans were using their time outs and the two minute warning to stop the clock. Continually getting first downs and moving the ball into scoring position burned up the time outs and made sure the ball would not be punted away and a long return given up. Having one more down than was needed made sure that if an injury was faked or occurred they would not have to punt the ball after a ten second run off and give the ball back.

A good job even though it was a nail bitter.

Wing,

you forgot Colbert in the "Put down the Blount" scenario. I kinda figure that Tomlin told Colbert he wanted Blount gone. Colbert would then take the matter to the Rooneys and discuss cap ramifications, etc. Finding minimal cap ramifications for the rest of the year and none for next year, Colbert was told to tell Tomlin to do what he felt was best. Blount was released as soon as this process played out. I'm just guessing here, but it makes sense to me ('of course I'm on some meds that are supposed to even my mood (wink) and lower my BP, so seeing a **** flinging monkey riding a unicycle might make sense to me about now).

I suspect that the incident was accelerated rapidly while the team was in Tenn. The decision on a possible course of action may have been made then and the examination and ramifications were looked at over night. The incident may have been called up to the Rooneys by one of the players, Ike for one is very close to them and may have taken it personal. Tomlin could have decided that things of that nature should not be tolerated and lobbied for it, and one of the other coaches could have been tossing gas on the fire and sent it up the chain. Regardless of how it shows the process of coaching decisions and decisive action are beginning to function so the whole staff that was involved needs credit for what sounds like a good job.

It's REALLY alarming or are you being an overly dramatic simpleton again?

And comparing Tomlin to Belichick now? Tomlin won his **** without cheating. Apparently you'd rather have a cheating son of a ***** as our coach.

If he doesn't know when to call a simple thing like victory formation (after having the whole 2 minute warning to think about it) how many other things does he screw up in the game preperation that we don't know about. My guess is quite a lot. And the proof is in the games we lose to teams we should be stomping.

Your way over reacting......................... Did we win???? Sheeezzzzz I'm not sure of the last ACTUAL play called? Maybe he wanted to get Bell over two hundred? Maybe he wanted you to blow a cork? Lota maybes involved...... I wander?

I don't know how relevant it is that Bowman only played 1 game. Is he good or not? I don't think there is anyone here who thinks not. Is he only good because of Harbaugh's coaching? Seems unlikely. Someone (no idea who) once mentioned here that James Harrison shouldn't REALLY be considered a Cowher player because he didn't start regularly until Tomlin came in. I don't know if that data was true, but the person was ridiculed for saying so. Regardless of the facts, most people wouldn't consider a Harrison a Tomlin player because he only started regularly once Tomlin came in.

You keep lumping Bowman in as one of the "14 starters" from the Niners' Super Bowl team who were there before Harbaugh. Simply pointing out the fact that he wasn't a starter for Singletary. Sure, Bowman was there...and he was essentially a non-factor on a 6-10 team. Harrison started 8 games over 3 years for some of Cowher's best teams. Slightly different scenario.

Yeah, Bowman is a great player; yet San Fran is still relevant while playing without him. And Willis and Smith for long periods. But let's not give Harbaugh any credit whatsoever, whether he wins a lot with these guys, or wins a little less without them. Stevie Wonder himself could have come in and magically turned a rudderless team who hadn't posted a winning season in 8 years into a perennial contender.

I am likening the two teams at the same points in the coaches career. Nothing more. In 4 more years we can evaluation JH at 8 years. Doing so at the same time in their careers based upon a similar prism of viewing data.

I don't think I have ever once said MT is a better coach or, really, an equal. Just that, if the differences are as big as we are lead to believe in the coaches abilities, the results should be more different.

You don't have to agree. I don't really care if you do or not. It pisses me off that you disagree with something, look at something with a different view (and IMO a predetermined conclusion) and announce my opinion is invalid. Once you do, you can kiss my ***.

Wait, you ARE likening the two teams at the same points in the coaches' careers? How is that, exactly? In one breath, you're telling me that both coaches have their teams in the exact same position...but then that really can't possibly be the case, can it? Because they're not to be viewed unless it's "based upon a similar prism of data," right?

So who gives a **** that they happen to be in the same playoff position right now, if we have to wait four more years to figure out if Harbaugh is any good or not? It's hard to agree (or disagree) with somebody who doesn't know what the **** his point is to begin with.

Wait..is there actually a debate over whether Belichick is a better coach than Tomlin?

Great job Coach Tomlin! First team in AFC North to 7 wins, let's get all the injured guys back and keep marching on baby!

Yes! Great job, Coach T!

Especially your inexplicably injudicious timeout on 3rd down from the 17 with 52 seconds left in the first half! No reason whatsoever to let the clock run there...how else would Tennessee have had the time to actually come out and throw a long touchdown pass (with no deep safety help) from their own 20 yard line with a rookie quarterback?

And your stingy defense managed to hold the mighty Titans and their 3 rookie starters to 8 yards per play? Awesome!

One more win, and come summer, you'll be signing another contract extension guaranteed through 2019. You might be able to beat the Saints or Falcons. After all, no losing seasons, right? Yay!

Bell already had 205 yards at the 2-minute warning, so that's not a maybe, it's a no.

Wait..is there actually a debate over whether Belichick is a better coach than Tomlin?

if we're using technology to gauge the ability to earn (cheat) wins, then no, there is no one better.
hands down one of the best, if not the best.

I'm not going to say EITHER is a **** coach, because neither ever coached me nor anyone I could personally discuss this with, but I will emphatically state that Belichick "benefitted" more from Sony than their own stockholders ever have.

So does Tomlin get any credit for cutting Blount loose?

Sure he does. But he also deserves some criticism for signing him in the first place. This jerk had a lot of baggage before he came here. Now what is our option for Bell's back up? A stone handed midget who shouldn't even be in the league?

now now. wipe your tears. the SN Elite will be along to tell us precisely who we'll bring in.
other than Josh Harris, of course.
