nope...like most, I am just not a total anti-Tomlin fanatic. I have posted many times that if he were replaced, I would not shed a tear....but unlike the Tomlin haters of the board, I understand that the blame can fall on many areas and not JUST TOMLIN. You and your boys don't talk football, you bash Tomlin....relentlessly.....even after victories.
And a handful of other posters - like you, for example - relentlessly bash the posters who don't head-over-heels love the guy. This is why nobody buys it when you guys say "Hey man, I'm neutral, don't care one thing about Tomlin!!" Because you guys shout down anti-Tomlin babbling at full volume, but stay silent on the ridiculous pro-Tomlin **** you see.
Tomlin is far from perfect, but he is not the mindless dimwit you would like to paint him as.
Preferring to be down by 3 scores instead of 2 in the fourth quarter of a must-win game? Yeah, honest goof. Whoopise!
He;s made many of the same mistakes for 8 seasons now.
but when Ike gets toasted and Mitchell doesn't support him by being in the right part of the field...that is their fault, not Tomlin's.
Hypothetically, what if it was the coaches' gameplan that told Mitchell to patrol the wrong area? Still the player's fault? What if they're playing Ike over a more talented player? Still the player's fault? What if they call the wrong coverages? Still the player's fault?
What if the same guys make the same mistakes constantly for years on end? Sure, a Ben INT is typically the fault of Ben and/or the receiver. But if he throws the same stupid INTs every year, yes, I blame the coaches as well. Their job is to coach him AWAY from those throws. Their job is to call plays that MINIMIZE risk of stupid INTs. Same with missed blocks, missed assignments, bad fumbles, etc.
You have a job, right? Do you manage any employees under you? If they make a mistake, it's their fault, sure. If they make the same mistake for several years running, doesn't it reflect on you as well? Isn't it your job to teach them AWAY from those mistakes? Or replace them with better employees? Or is it just NEVER your responsibility? There's not an industry on earth that believes that.
When draft picks don't pan out, or when you just disagree with them, they are not Tomlin's fault...others have input in the draft Tomlin does not run the whole ******* thing.
Nobody on this board has stated bad draft picks are ALL Tomlin's fault. But Tomlin played a role in drafting Jarvis, Sweed, and Hood JUST THE SAME as in drafting Bell, Brown, and [end of list].
Like the Cowher bashers of old....the Tomlin bashers just come across as hateful little trolls......not the open minded Intelligent fans they like to claim they are.....
And your kind comes across as whiny cheerleaders who can't handle simple debate. And simple-minded trolls who refuse to form an opinion beyond "Eh, everyone's pretty much kinda good, sorta, I guess." Every Steeler decision is the right one. Every Steeler is unassailably awesome. There is to be NO questioning the Almighty Rooneys.
