It's first round. Steelers pick.
Both Jackson powers Johnson center, Oregon.
And Bo Nix, QB , Oregon are on the board. Who would you take?

They will likely fill the room with a FA. Most likely Tanehill. Then they will either get another on the cheap vet or a street guy. They are not using a first on a QB this year or top 4 round pick for that matter. Christ they suited up Bush to start when a blind man could see he was useless. You might think KP has had a chance. He really has not.

I agree but after dumping Cole they cannot really sit on the position till draft day either. You might not get your pick. Look for a guard convert on roster or FA.

100% hear yaz, that’s why it was so hard when they passed on CREED (Twice).

What has Muuuth done, but in this new system he may be used more appropriately.

I just hope we don’t sign too big a project and set back years again at the position. When you ignore the trenches, this is what you get, playing catch up for years.

I know they will pick up a FA center. And possibly tannehill. In the search for a QB, I'm ok with loading up with another QB and let em compete.

I've seen JPJ mocked ahead of us. If we want a C and more picks, as it stands right now, we could trade back and get Frazier or Van Pran in the 2nd round. Van Pran had been the No. 1 C but wasn't in any of the end-of-season practices or games. He may move right back up to the No. 1 if he tests well at the combine.

Trade up for JJ McCarthy. IMO we will never find our next franchise QB unless we pick top 10 in the draft, that’s how we got Ben and that was an anomaly we were drafting that high. Pick your guy, bite the bullet and trade up

JOJ all the way. Everyone and their dog know the Steelers need a C. Reminds me of Najee or when everyone knew we were after some Bush. Now with Mason gone it’s quite glaring. They’re not exactly going to surprise anyone. My worry is someone swooping in ahead of us. We always seem to be so obvious.

He had such a good SR Bowl according to the people in the know, there are definitely other teams that need a C. I’ve been screaming for a top pick center since Pouncey started hupping the pigskin everywhere but Ben’s hands. Been yelling for a top ranked CB for years too. Kahn and associates made it happen last year….they can double dip hopefully.

Jackson Powers 6"3 322, has the frame for our power game, to often till late in the year u saw 2 secs of the handoff Cole on his ***, we need, he would bring the stability we had with a young Pouncey

Plus he just loves to hit people……got a mean streak. Listen to the coaches and players that have played against him. Maybe not the sexiest pick for some, but I think he’ll quickly become a fan favorite.

My choice for 1st round pick depends on how many OT‘s have been taken, and how many C’s. If I think Mims makes it to the 2nd, then I pick JPJ, If i’m not sure Mims makes it, then Mims in the 1st and the best C in the 2nd.

If I can only choose those two options offered, it is so ******* easy, JPJ without even thinking about it. I don’t consider a QB until at least the 4th.

JPJ all day! You must have a solid center and we’ve ****** this position up far too much recently ignoring some really good centers in the draft.
Cool Shades would rather go for the flash instead of building from the OL. You see where that has gotten us.
I wish they’d keep him away from player personnel and just make him deal with coaching and player development if he can handle that.

In the scenario of the OP - I'm taking JPJ.

But, OT and QB are still VERY HIGH needs IMO...

I just knew there was something I liked about you………. Straight up post and all.

JPJ because I don't see Nix as being successful in Pittsburgh.
Nix is that rubber ball that keeps bouncing off the wall. As the ball would go in different direction, so has my opinion wavered. I am leaning that he would struggle as a pro. But there is part of me that thinks put him on a good team capable of QB development (yes that obviously would cross the Steelers off the list) he might be a Brees type of QB.
