The Lions, a feel good story of this young season, face the Bills and look to be in full control at the start of the game. Only to stall to a complete stop and allow the pathetic Bills, led by Kyle Orton, beat them.

The Atlanta Falcons, well they were crowned "back and serious contenders" by the media. Especially after the Thursday night drubbing of Tampa Bay. They lose to the "completely lost the first two weeks of the season" Giants, who have now ripped off three straight wins and look to be hitting their stride.

The Chargers, they have taken down the "best" team in the league, and quietly put themselves in a pretty good situation...as in FIRST in the division over the mighty mighty Broncos.

Speaking the Broncos, congrats to Peyton Manning for hitting 500 TD passes. An amazing accomplishment. Congrats to Thomas for a MONSTER game. Looks like the Cardinals might not be as real as we thought...especially if they keep losing players like they did today. They were dropping like flies. And their starting who at QB??

Tennessee, you got thi....err on second thought. Jake Locker gets taken out, Charlie dude comes in and looks solid ripping clevelands secondary apart... AND THEN the Browns score the last 19 points of the game. Damn Browns just don't go away. If they could keep from putting themselves in these gigantic holes, they could be looking at 4-0 instead of 2-2.

The Panthers looked done after losing last week to Baltimore. Back to back losses, and they didn't start great against Chicago... Good thing Chicago is just as Jekyll and Hyde as always.

The Eagles. If it weren't for their special teams and defense (blocked punt for a TD, fumble recovery for a TD this week, blocked punt for TD, int for TD, punt return for TD last week), they would be 2-3. All that talk in the offseason from McCoy about being the best back in the league...well he hasn't backed that up yet at all. Even with Peterson on suspension, both DeMarco Murray and LeVeon Bell are better.

The Saints and Buccs. What can you say, LOTS of points. Does this game show that Tampa is better than many thought or that the Saints are even worse? The Saints ran 86 plays. Bree's throws 57 times!! And they need OT to finish off the Buccs... So Vader, what was that about Vincent Jackson again? 8 for 144.

Last but not least, the Niners. Somewhat getting back to their running ways and have put together a couple wins in a row. Is Harbaugh still safe? Do they regret giving Kaepernick that huge deal? I still see a lot of questions in the bay. As for the Chiefs... what can I say, Andy Reid. Pretty much sums it up, Andy Reid.

LOL I'm so in your head. What was that about Tampa Bay being a good team? Oh yea, 1-4 with the only win being against the Steelers in Heinz field. Yea, they're great!

Nah man, just thought I'd have a little fun with that one. He had a monster game, and as I was typing that out I thought of your post. It's funny that's all you had to say about that entire post... And for the record, I never said Tampa was a good team, I said they weren't as bad as their record shows. A concept you still can't grasp. Carry on with your bitching tho, I'm sorry to interrupt you, I know it's past your bedtime gramps.

So how bad are they? Isn't that what every coach says? We're as good as our record? I guess not being able to beat anyone except the Steelers means you aren't a bad team? So is there even a bad team in the league? Can't be Jax because they almost beat the Steelers so they aren't bad. LOL carry on with your double speak and Tampa Bay *** kissing.

The question mark with the 49ers coming into the season was how well their defense would perform with all the personnel losses, but they look to be solid there once again. That offensive line is the key to their success, as it can take control of a game. Kaepernick is a good enough complement to it for them to win, but he's probably not worth what they're paying him.

I think Harbaugh is gone after this season, short of another trip to the Super Bowl. There is just too much friction between him and the personnel people and players in that organization,

He's a great coach from a schematic standpoint, but he may be too much of douchebag to co exist in the NFL. People are willing to tolerate more at the college level.

Coaches tend to learn from their mistakes. I think if the 49ers are stupid enough to cut loose a brilliant young winning coach because he rubs people the wrong way in the hallways, he'll be snapped up quickly and turn some other garbage team into a contender.

I don't disagree, but the writing seems to be on the wall. All I can say is he must be King ******* for the 49ers to even contemplate moving on from him, given is obvious coaching talents.

I think there's a great chance he returns to the college game and is coaching Michigan, where he played, next year.

There is also about to be no undefeated teams left if the score of tonight's game holds.

All I know is today was a good day.....Rats loose! Bungles are bungling this one away and our Steelers won!

WOOOOOHOOOOO!!!

Bring on The Clowns!!!

How is it double speak. People were going on and on about how Tampa Bay was the worst team in the league. Simply put, they are not the worst team in the league. That's what my post was saying. They managed to get a few key guys back for our game which really changed their defense. Getting Martin back gave them a solid one two punch at RB. They aren't some hapless team the winless record had shown. The change in QB alone will net them at least 3 wins. It's not Tamp Bay *** kicking, it's telling the truth. But you love to argue, and you always have to be right... to the point where you make stuff up about what people actually said. Still spinning away like usual. Now, back to the topic of week 5...

As 448 said, no more undefeated teams. The Patriots came out and played their most complete game of the season. It couldn't have come at a better time for them. They were being called out in the media, rumors are surfacing of a rift between Brady and management, fans were calling out Belicheat... if the win does anything, it just prolongs the suffering of Patriot fans. As for the Bengals, I think they were riding their ego's way too high. Andy Dalton still doesn't have the look of franchise QB, but the fans will most likely be crying about this loss much later in the season.

A very bad team can have a good game. A very good team can have a bad game. The talent on the Steelers roster is nowhere near the bottom of the league, we're deeper than we've been in a long time at WR and RB, and we all know the QB position is pretty solid as well, on the defense, we'll see how the newly inserted players stack up, so far this year most of the defense looks hapless at times.

Tampa Bay started a different qb when they played us. I think it's safe to say Glennon is a better qb than the other qb's on their squad, since they have put together a win and just about pulled out another with him under center. Are they a good team, well, I wouldn't say that just yet, but are they as bad as they looked the first part of the season, I think it's safe to say they aren't.

It's amazing how all you ******* running around yelling at people for having their "Steeler colored glasses" on will consistently debate and attack any rational thought that doesn't lead to "yeah, the Steelers really are the worst team in the NFL". This isn't a courtroom, it's a bulletin board, you're not building some mythical case that you need to skew every discussion one way or the other so it supports your pre-conceived notion of the state of the Steelers.

Joe

Maybe there is not quite as huge a difference in teams in this league as some think. Or for that matter in college.

This year for sure. I can't look at one team right now and say, "yup, they are the best team in the league". We've got some interesting story lines brewing. The Texans and Colts tied for the division lead, Buffalo (yup BUFFALO) and the Patriots tied for the division lead, the Cardinals and Chargers are first in their divisions, and the AFC north quietly becoming the most competitive division in the league through the first five weeks. Week 6 games will be key for several teams moving forward.

Colts @ Texans on thursday night. Will we see another blowout? Big game for the division lead.
Lions @ Vikings, do the Lions bounce back? Or does the return of Teddy give the Vikings a fighting chance at a wild card?
Panthers @ Bengals, which team is for real? The Panthers bounced back after back to back losses, the Bengals just got blown out on SNF...
Cowboys @ Seahawks. Who would have put this game as a big game to start the season??
Giants @ Eagles, we'll find out if it truly is a three team race for the NFC East.
Steelers @ Browns. The loser is last in the division, I would put this as a MUST WIN for the Steelers if we want any shot at the post season.

Not to jump in the middle here, but Doug Martin is garbage, and the Bucs are a poor team.

The true worst team in the league is Jacksonville, whom we managed to beat on a late INT return. Phew for that.

Yeah, and up till we played them, the Panthers were said to have a top level defense. Then we kicked the **** out of them, and suddenly no one is hanging off the amazing and scary Panthers defense anymore. Come here the week before the panthers game and take a look around at how they were going to kill Ben, stop our running game, and just make us look like ****.

Then we stomp em, and that's that. Go out and lay an egg against the Bucs, and it's all "Oh my gawd, see, told you" but if ******* AB catches that flea flicker, we win that one too.

The "worst" team in the nfl can beat the "best" team, happens just about every damn year. It does seem to happen to Pittsburgh more than other teams, but THAT has been happening to Pittsburgh since the 80's, for some reason, we seem to let really ****** teams hang around and hang around, and we've done it as long as I've been watching. A shitload of oc's, dc's, etc, and it's always been that way.

Maybe it's something in the water.

Yes, but it's a pattern with us, losing to bad or subpar teams. Has been for several years.

There are surprises every season. This one is no different and the surprises aren't over yet. I see trouble brewing for us this week against the Clowns. We need to play 60 minutes against that team and put up a lot more points than we did this week. Tate will run down our throats opening up their passing game. A loss would not surprise me in the list. Piss me off, yes, but surprise me, no.

And if you go and read the thread I started last week, I never said that they were a good team. Just that their record made them look worse then they were. I was attempting to put a slightly less negative outlook on that game. Vader took everything I wrote and turned it into me calling them a good team like I was claiming they would walk away with the division title or something. Then he went on to say that they have no one of any worth over what we have. Supe and I called him out on that he spun spun spun.

Hell even IN my thread, I said the Buccaneers weren't good, but not the worst team in the league. That would be between the Raiders and Jags, and I gave the edge to the Jags.

I don't think Doug Martin is garbage tho, he would be our third back, but he's not garbage. He's injury prone, but when he's healthy and they can give him some room, he's a quality back.

Oh bullshit. You are just trying to puff up the Steelers opponents to make the Steelers look better. You talked about the great Glennon who has a 5-11 record. I said that there is no one on the TB team that matches what the Steelers have on offense. Which is 100% true but you can't handle that and have to twist it into "EVERY single player on the Steelers is better than TB". Which isn't what I said. But that's what you have to do... spin and twist my words to make yourself look good.

You people think NE has it easy because of their division. When I point out that the Steelers have the easiest schedule in the NFL then it becomes "there are no easy games"... well except for NE because you don't like them. The FACT is that TB is 1-4 and lost to a 1-3 team. Their only win is against the Steelers. Jax is 0-5 and the only team they were even in the game with was the Steelers. But yea, they aren't as bad as everyone things...

Too many teams and not enough talent mixed with rules that favor some offense along with new practice rules and this is what you get. Every week there are teams that can come back and others that can't close games out. This is what the league wants though, and really, it's been like this for the past several years. Outside of maybe the Raiders, everyone has a decent shot to win a game every week.

If that were true then you wouldn't have 0-5 teams like Jax. You wouldn't have a 13-3 Seahawks team last year. Or a 13-3 Broncos team last year. The games would be more even but they aren't. If everyone has a 50/50 chance to win then you'd have a few 10-6 teams with no one winning 13+ games. But that isn't what is happening. You have teams like Oakland who have been outscored by 52 points. Then you have the worst team in the league like Jax who have been outscored by a whopping 102 points. These teams are horrible, as NFL teams go.

Since we are calling bullshit...
The "great" Glennon? I said he was better than Josh McCown, I said that he showed promise last year as a rookie. I didn't twist anything there, you did.

"Tampa has no one that matches what the Steelers have" You are the only one in the world interpreting that in the way that you mean it. I don't even understand the point of that statement since offenses don't square off against each other. You kept saying take the best of this and the best of that and compare... COMPLETELY ignoring the fact that a number 2 WR is still a STARTING WR. So take your pick, Mike Evans/Vincent Jackson (since there is debate on who is better) vs Wheaton. You said take their best OL, really? So tackles and guards are equal here, we can't compare each individual position along the line? I'll make it even easier, quick who is our best OL?

You're STILL trying to spin things.

I wasn't puffing up the Steelers opponents to make us look better, that's just you assuming you know things. I was pointing out that they weren't the worst team in the league. I fully understand that we don't have great odds this year. Our defense is a mess, our offense is inconsistent, and penalties are killing us. But forgive me for talking a little bit of football from a different point of view. One where every team that beats the Steelers isn't the worst team in the league. Someone else pointed it out, before the Carolina game we were going to get killed, their D was going to stop us completely. After the game, Carolina really isn't that good.

And who the **** said anything about New England having an easy schedule? Talk about adding **** in... keep spinning. I just called you out on your bullshit, you just make **** up.

The Lions are in serious need of a kicker, and perhaps a dedicated MASH unit. They have made 4-12 FG attempts this year, and I think some of my kicks would have been just as pretty as those of the kickers they have trotted out thus far. The rookie kicker they drafted was 3-7 and the guy they signed to replace him is 1-5. They should have probably signed Rob Bironas, and I would be surprised if they aren't calling Matt Prater.

I'm just waiting for it to come across the ticker. Their kicker is horrible.

I have trouble believing that Alex Henery beat out Rob Bironas, but maybe it's easier to kick when it doesn't count.
