Yeah, moving up usually costs way too much. The only trade up I hated from Colbert was for Bush. And it technically was “fair value” according to the old Jimmy Johnson chart. My biggest gripe was his unwillingness to move back. Lots of times guys we drafted in the first would have been there later but he never wanted to risk it. I remember arguing about when the Bengals took William Jackson III right out from us. The Broncos were trying to trade up to get Paxton Lynch. We took Artie Burns instead of moving back and picking up an extra 3rd. Some on here argued that we didn’t know if Burns would have lasted until the end of the 1st. I was like he likely does and even if he didn’t Xavier Howard is just as good. Well, looking back now we should have made that trade. 9/10 we should make the the trade instead of reaching.
I celebrated the Bush move. I don't hide from it. I thought it was a Polamalu 2 move at the time. I think you are dead on.
Bush had a significant injury then as a result plays scared. Nobody could have known that was going to take place. Not to mention I just don't think he is as fast as pre-injury. Nothing wrong with anyone initially liking him. He initially played well enough.
I agree with this. But maybe more importantly he lacked prerequisite size and strength to overcome what should have been a small setback in his career. They rebuild ACLs better than what you are born with now.
Sure undersized with your game built off of speed. Yeah that aspect is a risk and they knew it. And it worked out worse case scenario for them.
Perhaps next time don't trade up for mathematically a higher risk type.
From this perspective it was a bad decision, probably a good lesson learned for the next idea of it.
and I don't disagree with that. with the Steelers needs and no 5th or 6th round picks they have other needs
but I think he will kill it as a return man

Mine wasn’t much better. I stayed and took Fant if I was the GM. Fant is solid. Nothing more.
I really don't see him making it to 5 or 6. But if he does and they have no pick I'd regret that. I don't recall them getting anything good for those picks.
I've said from the start that I see him as a 3rd rounder...his 40 time doesn't change that. Unless they trade back at some point and get some extra picks, I hate to say he would be a luxury pick........

I don’t think he hurt himself. If anything I think he made money this week. A tick shorter than his listed 6-3 but a little faster than I predicted. I was thinking 4.7 and he ended up running 4.64. His pro day will be more important imo. Showing off some arm strength and accuracy.

I totally hear you Coolie, I just don’t think we can afford him this draft with the other bigger needs and the fact we have a similar type WR already, just my 2 cents.
I feel he will go mid three to mid 4, and as I said we have bigger concerns. I love to be proved wrong in that we get him and he blows up everything, on the field that is.

Our new assistant GM has a beautiful strategy of asking early if that prospect is a starter capable.
If you are second guessing you need to go to the second option.

Some of those sleep walking episodes you’ve been experiencing …….. Have actually been slash / Lunar / Paul (for muscle you heavy *******, Pauls words not mine) / and me carrying you out and using you for test dummy rides on new features of the LUXURY S10.
1) Auto eject wheel-well seats with and without parachute. (Checking cost effectiveness)
2) Front bumper HUMAN attachment apparatus
3) We tried to figure out GPM flow rate of keg to front but you drank way to fast to get a reading

I believe we fully agree on that. I like the kid. I have no idea how anyone his size is capable of playing in the National Football League but clearly he has a big set. All the best wherever he plays. Hope it's outside the division.

when we trade pick 32 and get a later2nd a 3rd and a 5th rounder ( I admit to not be great at knowing what trade value on picks is)
I would take him with our 1st 3rd though
