First-pick.com - It's Mock Draft time again...

this is a pipe dream draft
Your score is: 33904 (GRADE: B-)

Your Picks:
Round 2 Pick 17: Cole Kmet, TE, Notre Dame (A)
Round 3 Pick 38 (COMP): Cam Akers, RB, Florida State (A+)
Round 4 Pick 18: Yasir Durant, OT, Missouri (A+)
Round 4 Pick 29: Christian Rector, DE/OLB, USC (A+)
Round 6 Pick 19: Alohi Gilman, FS/SS, Notre Dame (A+) (should of gone WR here )
Round 7 Pick 18: Jay Tufele, DT, USC (A)

this a bit more realistic
Round 2 Pick 17: Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin (A)
Round 3 Pick 38 (COMP): Calvin Throckmorton, OT, Oregon (A+)
Round 4 Pick 18: Albert Okwuegbunam, TE, Missouri (A+)
Round 4 Pick 29: Jon Runyan, OG, Michigan (A+)
Round 6 Pick 19: Khaleke Hudson, OLB, Michigan (A+)
Round 7 Pick 18: Benito Jones, DT, Mississippi (A+)
I just dont see taylor by next week asa rnd 2 but a early rnd 2 or even lt rnd 1 .
I think zach moss is perfect RB for us kinda in in between what bell was at as spAarten

my WR route is via FA eithier Sharpe or Lazard or evedn jeff janis who could be had with no bonus. I see WR spots 1-2 locked 3-6 up for grabs
Ideal 3 Washington 4 sign a vet 5 Cobbs 6 PS or udfa or late rounder

I know very little about the draft. I usually don't break down the Receivers until closer to the draft and I hit the guys they interviewed. I hear the TE class is weak and the OLB class is strong. Other than that, I don't watch a bunch of college ball, so I'm very low on the analysis until closer to the draft. I break down mechanics when I watch highlights.

Has Coach hacked your 'puter??? That chyt made me LOL!!!

49: R2P17 RB JONATHAN TAYLOR
WISCONSIN
If Taylor drops this is a no brainer. Connor is in a contract year and has been injury prone. Snell looked good but not ready to hand him the keys to the kingdom. Taylor is an every down back with game breaking speed.

102: R3P38 TE ALBERT OKWUEGBUNAM MISSOURI
Would be a steal here. Albert is one of the most NFL ready TE’s in this draft.

121: R4P18 G DAMIEN LEWIS LSU
Again, an NFL ready guard to replace Foster. Nothing fancy but he is tough as nails and gets the job done.

132: R4P29 WR CHASE CLAYPOOL
NOTRE DAME
Would be a steal here.

198: R6P19 DL NAQUAN JONES
MICHIGAN STATE
NFL size and strength but was lost on the depth chart. Someone to hopefully push for playing time this year.

232: R7P18 S TANNER MUSE
CLEMSON
Blew up the combine and could be the replacement if Edmunds doesn’t take a big step. Should help replace Chick/Red on special teams.

Like your draft a lot. But for Muse to be able to replace Edmunds is a pretty decent sized stretch.

I said “could”. He definitely has the athleticism. But right now no one is pushing Edmunds and Sean Davis is likely heading somewhere else.

Too early to close the book on Edmunds. Don't count on the Steelers doing that. Or even attempting to. They have bigger fish to fry.

Definitely, but Edmunds does need to take a big step forward this year.

I think he has the capability to take a step forward. How much is debatable. Good thing is as a player he is still green around the edges. But he comes from a football family. I have to think he will be grinding to improve.

Your Picks:
Round 2 Pick 25 (HOU): Albert Okwuegbunam, TE, Missouri (A-)
Round 3 Pick 37 (HOU): Cam Akers, RB, Florida State (A+)
Round 3 Pick 38 (COMP): Malik Harrison, ILB/OLB, Ohio State (A+)
Round 4 Pick 5 (HOU): Ezra Cleveland, OT, Boise State (A+)
Round 4 Pick 18: Jalen Hurts, QB, Oklahoma (A+)
Round 4 Pick 29: Leki Fotu, DT, Utah (A)
Round 6 Pick 19: Jared Pinkney, TE, Vanderbilt (A)
Round 7 Pick 18: TJ Brunson, OLB, South Carolina (A)

Round 2 Pick 17: Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin (A) doubt he makes it here heard titana might take him if Henry wants to much and tag him work horse vs fragile Conner
Round 3 Pick 38 (COMP): Ezra Cleveland, OT, Boise State (A+) again dont see him falling this far in a year I would cut AJ and let EZRa start has all the tools.
Round 4 Pick 18: Michael Onwenu, OG, Michigan (A) powerful blue collar G that easily replaces Foster
Round 4 Pick 29: Thaddeus Moss, TE, LSU (B) Project asa te but can immediately step as a wr line up anywhere with time be good enough to be the i and ace sets for blocking
Round 6 Pick 19: Khaleke Hudson, OLB, Michigan (A) great range and instincts over took Bush spot and the Wolverine D was still solid could be great to use as a MLB next to bush and you can move Vince to OLB for a overload blitz
Round 7 Pick 18: Benito Jones, DT, Mississippi (A) I have been hearing he is rnd 3-4 too good for a old school NT to pass up here
every hole filled I turn towards FA to find a good #4 and 5 WR and bring back back up TE , Moss U se a as a flex line himj outside in the slot the same way Aaron Hernandez was used. Until he adds some bulk to block in the ace set. in line

Perfect steelers mock

49: R2P17 S ANTOINE WINFIELD JR. MINNESOTA
Fitzpatrick deep safety, Winfield can play intermediate and nickel/dime (assuming Hilton is gone after 2020) and Edmunds can play Rover LB/S.

102: R3P38 WR CHASE CLAYPOOL NOTRE DAME
Freak athlete who can take the top off defenses and be a nice Red Zone option.

121: R4P18 TE ALBERT OKWUEGBUNAM MISSOURI
Pair Albert with a reasonably priced veteran at TE and we should be good to go in 2020.

132: R4P29 C MATT HENNESSY
TEMPLE
Pouncey isn’t getting any younger and Finney and or Foster is likely gone. Can play RG right away and move to center in a couple of years.

198: R6P19 RB AJ DILLON
BOSTON COLLEGE
Power back with decent hands. One cut and up back with good wheels and a load to take down.

232: R7P18 DL MCTELVIN AGIM
ARKANSAS
Pair him with McCullers and we might not miss Hargrave so much. He’s more of a penetrator but has enough sand in his pants to hold the point of attack.

Round 2 Pick 21 (PHI): Lloyd Cushenberry III, C/OG, LSU (A-)
Round 3 Pick 38 (COMP): Chase Claypool, WR, Notre Dame (A+)
Round 3 Pick 39 (PHI): Zack Moss, RB, Utah (A+)
Round 4 Pick 18: Matt Hennessy, C, Temple (A+)
Round 4 Pick 29: Harrison Bryant, TE, Florida Atlantic (C+)
Round 4 Pick 37 (PHI): Saahdiq Charles, OT, LSU (A+)
Round 6 Pick 19: Joe Gaziano, DE/OLB, Northwestern (A+)
Round 7 Pick 18: Benito Jones, DT, Mississippi (A)

I traded back twice very short distances to pick up some mid round depth for the team..... it was only one or two positions at a time so I did not lose out on the players I was targeting

I view Cushenberry as one of if not the top G in the draft..... so landing him mid 2nd round was huge
Chase Claypool adds size to the receiver corps...... in a poor TE class Chase could be a hybrid somewhat especially in the red zone
Zack Moss has NFL genes .......cousins Santana and Senorice Moss.... He is a truck and we need someone who can stay on the field... Conner is in his last year so the team has a decision to make
M Hennessy can sit behind Pouncey who seems to be showing some signs of deminishing
Harrison Bryant......needs to add 10 to 15 lbs but he is a far better prospect than Zach Gentry because he already knows how to pass and run block...... match him up with Vance McDonald and I think his future brightens
S. Charles adds depth to the OL........ played in a large program at LSU
J. Gaziano ........another area where depth is required
B. Jones ....... round out the draft with the uncertainty of Javon Hargrave staying seems a prudent pick

Concentrated on OFFENSE early and add depth late

Your Picks:
Round 3 Pick 16 (L.V.):*Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, LSU (A+)
Round 3 Pick 17 (L.V.):*Cole Kmet, TE, Notre Dame (A+)
Round 3 Pick 27 (L.V.):*Chase Claypool, WR, Notre Dame (A+)
Round 3 Pick 38 (COMP):*Ezra Cleveland, OT, Boise State (A+)
Round 4 Pick 18:*JR Reed, FS/SS, Georgia (A+)
Round 4 Pick 29:*Leki Fotu, DT, Utah (A)
Round 6 Pick 19:*Damien Lewis, OG, LSU (A+)
Round 7 Pick 18:*Mohamed Barry, OLB, Nebraska (A-)

Made a trade with the first pick and still got myself a starting RB for the future, a #2 TE with potential and a future LT starter who needs to hit the weight room and eat like big snack. My plan is to keep both Finney and Feiler to man up the LG spot while Chuks, Banner and Cleveland fight for the RT spot. Claypool is my addition to the WR pool, Reed can become a decent backup safety while Fotu gets to fight with mcculers for the NT spot in run downs . Lewis and Barry are depth at G and ILB, the 7th pick might become a dark horse to get a PS spot. I'm guessing Barron gets extended to lower his cap hit

these are some great mocks guys.

I'll take Minkah over any of the guys who could be had at pick 10-18

Couldn't agree more
Just a little tidbit

The Steelers surrendered a first-round pick to acquire Fitzpatrick, and the 23-year-old safety made that investment look brilliant by picking off five passes during an All-Pro season in 2019. By some measures, Fitzpatrick had one of the best seasons ever for a Pittsburgh defensive back. Pro Football Reference tracks a stat called Approximate Value (AV), which seeks to measure a player’s overall contributions. AV is adjusted by era and by position on the field, to allow for more apples-to-apples comparisons. With 19 total AV, Fitzpatrick’s 2019 season is tied for second-best among Steelers defensive backs during the post-merger era (1970-present). Rod Woodson’s 1990 season (20) comes in first, followed by Fitzpatrick, Woodson in 1992 (19), Troy Polamalu in 2008 (18), Woodson in 1994 (18), Mel Blount in 1975 (17) and Woodson in 1993 (17).

I enjoy watching this dude play much like I did watching Rod.

Continued success young man !!!!!!!

Second try, this time with no trades
Your Picks:
Round 2 Pick 17:*DAndre Swift, RB, Georgia (A+)
Round 3 Pick 38 (COMP):*Chase Claypool, WR, Notre Dame (A+)
Round 4 Pick 18:*Colby Parkinson, TE, Stanford (A+)
Round 4 Pick 29:*Saahdiq Charles, OT, LSU (A+)
Round 6 Pick 19:*Antoine Brooks, FS/SS, Maryland (A)
Round 7 Pick 18:*Khaleke Hudson, OLB, Michigan (A+)

This one is expecting the Steelers to get a NT free agent like Billings.

WTF??? Tape is giving the SEC props??? LMAO!!!

I give SEC players props all the time. Just not ALL of them which you seem to take as some sort of anti SEC bias.

I'll say this in general. When i look at the draft I am always wary of players who played on loaded teams. I was always down on USC guys when they were dominating. The reason is that it real easy to look good on a loaded team.

For that reason, I'm not sure about Ruggs. I like Jeudy because he's such a great route runner but it was so damn easy for Ruggs to get open on that Bama team. I'm always hesitant with guys like that. I'm not that high on the LSU TE Moss for the same reason.

I do like the LSU RB Helaire. I see a guy who may not be a star but will be a very good 3 down player. I don't care about his 40 time. He has vision, can make people miss, and has natural hands.

I like guys who had to earn it in college. I'm not sold on JK Dobbins but i love Jonathan Taylor. That's because every week the defense's #1 priority was to stop Taylor and they couldn't. That guy didn't get to run through huge gaps like Dobbins.

All this RPO stuff makes things difficult too. Guys like Tua and Fields command so much attention that it makes it easy for the RBs and WRs to be in open field. The fact that I think Jake Fromm sucks makes me like DeAndre Swift more.

I wasn't really sold on Burrow until the Clemson game. That's because until then everything was so damn easy. It was just pitch and catch to either a wide open guy or a jump ball to a guy like Jefferson who would just pull down everything. But Clemson has some real talent on defense and runs a very complex scheme. They did confuse Burrow early and he struggled a bit as they took away his first options.

Then Burrow adjusted and was able to overcome. So many guys on loaded teams can't do that. Take away Plan A and they suck. Burrow showed he can still succeed when he has to use Plan B.

That is one of the biggest things I look for in players and that's why it may seem I'm down on many Bama players in particular. Because so many of them have really easy jobs because of so much overall talent.

I am with you pretty much with your thinking. Although I do like Dobbins.. The O-line did well sure, but he did face some solid competition and was productive. Game film I saw of him I came away very impressed.

I think he is going to be a very solid NFL player...

3 dudes Dobbins, Taylor or Swift..... if either of these 3 are still on the board when we pick and we pass on them ... I will probably be upset. .... don't see much else in this draft that could have as big an impact on our team as one of them

One reason RB is such a popular want besides Conners lack of health is the Oline starting to show its age. Although I prefer a G or T in free agency it isn't out of the question for the BPA to be T in this T heavy draft. But in all likelihood Ts usually go on runs early in the draft. Would still be no shocker if the BPA is a WR or RB. If it plays out like that I could see a RB coming off the board in 2.
