It's been 2 seasons. What do you think of Todd Haley as OC?

Pretty straightforward question. Has he grown on you? Do you want Arians back?

I never really cared much for The Bruce. Haley(the team using his gameplan) started strong year one and finished strong year two, lets put it together this year and make a run up the stairway . . .

Arians is a much better and smarter coach than Haley. The problem with Arians is he couldn't help himself with going for the big plays and his too chummy relationship with Ben led to Ben developing too many bad habits.

If Tomlin had managed Arians better, meaning he kept his playcalling feet on the ground, he'd still be here.

Haley is OK. I don't think his offense is anything special. I give him credit for breaking Ben out of the school yard antics that Arians enabled for too long.

While I think haleys offense is nothing new or special... I like the way he adapted (whatever the reason was) to last years horrid start,, and finished strong down the stretch and putting up points....
I know we still have those dump screens to the wr but not near as much,,,,, and the huge drop backs are less.. ben has the tools.. and haley is using them. Alll of them.

I HATED the Bruce. I dislike Haley, although he started to grow on me last season. We have to consistently score in the mid 20's or better to win games this year. If our Oline is solid this year then we could finally see a breakout season in terms of scoring. We have a very talented #1 RB, a stud WR with a bunch of question marks at the other WR positions, a great TE who has a couple more years in him, and a Top 5 QB. If Haley doesn't produce this year he should be banished to Minnesota or Buffalo.

I really disliked the no points offense the bruce ran. I liked the whiz better. The jury is still out on haley in my mind, as he is trying some different concepts. The biggest thing I need to see is more points. I do not think it is unreasonable to expect seven points per quarter from an offense in todays game. A defense should not have to shut out the other team or limit them to less than 20 for their offense to be able to win the game.

The only thing I miss about the "bruce", is my one-armed **** flinging monkey rental business, has dried up!!!!!!

Haily has done a better job at using what he has to work with. He has also some what reeled in Ben R., to our advantage. This year, things should be even better, barring the dreaded injury bug.

Salute the nation

yep. that's my line of thinking also.
the guy got ben to start 16 games for only the second time in his career.
i don't love him, but i HATED arians. he's fine by me

Interesting now the I want the Bruce back crowd seems to have become silent. I forgot about the one armed **** flinging monkey, I think they will use an electronic version in the future, called the randomizer. I here Bruce has a small portable one that he takes with him everywhere.

I like Haley a bit more each week, but not yet to the point of being a fan of his offence.

I wouldn't look after his dogs.

I'd give him a C grade. It still seems like there are issues with him adapting and making changes during a game to counter what the D is doing. Ben going into the no-huddle helps but Haley doesn't seem to make adjustments quick enough.

We have been hit rather hard with injuries the last few years so maybe the drop in top personnel may have somewhat limited what was able to be accomplished. I do agree though it would be nice to have an offense that can adapt and implement changes quicker than in the past.

As with everything about this team the last two 8-8 seasons, you see flashes of good one week and plain **** the next.

Not sure I blame Haley more than Tomlin for all the inconsistency because it's on both sides of the ball. And I still think the talent level on the whole roster (i.e. Colbert) isn't where it should be. We've talked about red zone issues since the "Bruce" but I haven't seen many personnel changes to help the situation. We have a roster of "between the 20's" receiving threats and wouldn't you know it, that's where we have our most success on offense.

I still think Le'Veon Bell is being a bit overrated and not quite the savior in the running game some are touting. And we've been through 4 O-line coaches in the last 6 seasons (Zierlein, Kugler, Bicknell and now Munchak).

I probably give Haley a C+ but understand the rosters probably a C, Tomlin's been a C- and the offensive line coaching has been a D. That probably averages a C grade, which you would expect for an 8-8 team.

I think Haley should be given a solid B.
He has molded the offense around Ben's abilities while keeping him alive.
i would like a bit more ingenuity, but the play-calling has been pretty solid IMO.

DelJZc hit the nail on the head. Best assessment of haley, bell and Tomlin.

Kind of like Tommy Maddox replacing Kordell Stewart.

Definitely warming up to Haley as time goes on. All we can realistically hope for is continued improvement, and after a rough start, that seems to be the case. I wasn't sure he'd last after his first year, but things seem to have settled down and I get the feeling he and Ben are increasingly on the same page. Adding Munchak will push this thing even further, so I'm all in at this stage.

I want 10 minutes to party with Haley's wife.
I'd be good for at least an hour.

Same here. I think Haley is a little more flexible and does a better job of catering to our strengths and the opposition's weaknesses instead of forcing **** whether it works or not.
It's hard to make a full judgement unless or until the OL can stay flippin' healthy for a change.

Haley, Bruce and Whiz are all far better than the pieces of **** we used to have in that spot. I ain't bitchin.

I am a big fan of Todd Haley's offense. He manages his resources much better than Arians. Unfortunately for Haley he came on during a talent shift so this year should really show what type of offense he has fully wanted to run.

The best aspect of his offense is that it is big on ball control and clock management while emphasizing quick passes and screens. The oline has been middle of the road as has the running game the last few years......both should be very much improved this season.

All of this will help a defense that is also in transition and needs to not be on the field over half the game. This wasn't a problem when the defense was stout and it took more time for opposing teams to move the ball....but now they can't be expected to control the clock as much on their end.

Lastly and obviuously......this offense will help extend Bens career and we may actually see the true return of the play action pass in Pittsburgh w a dominate running game ala 2004-2007.

We got to 2 superbowls with Bruce.

I'm waiting for Hailey's first...
