James Harrison Released

If he goes to patriots I will be so ******* pissed. More so at Steelers than James.

I could care less if goes to the Pats. Ben will go 5 wide and he would be a major liability if he was on the field.

Always amazes me she. “Joe Fan,” thinks they are better at evaluating talent than the trained professionals who see these guys every day. I assure you, if James had anything left, he’d have been on the field.

Always amazes me what "Joe FAN" thinks on this board. Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah, I loved me some James Harrison. He had the kind of heart I have. Too bad the trained professionals ignored it. Bad move at crunch time.

I REALLY HOPE there is a plan to re-sign Deebo before the playoffs. I was hoping the HC was keeping him as a secret weapon to unleash in the playoffs all this time.

As for all y'all saying he can't COVER??? http://www.Invalid Link - Check SN Home Page/2017/06/james-harrison-rated-best-cover-olb-2016/

He was rated the #1 Edge rusher in coverage just last year!!! WTF? Being better in coverage than Dupree or Watt is pretty easy for a guy who only has to level the guy within 5 yards (yes, it's still legal, and done all the time)

All the BS about dropping our OLB's in coverage is MORE reason to have him out there not less. MAybe he lost his ability to flatten a crosser or jamb a TE at the LOS...I doubt it. He is probably still better than any player on defense asked to do what little our OLBs are asked to do in coverage. Rarely do you see an OLB back down the field more than 10 yards AND given that contact is allowed in the first 5, I'll take Deebo over any CB/S?OLB on our team.

I hope there is a plan...

With that being said, why wasn't he out there JAMMIN gronkfuckski last game???

There is no doubt as to the "LEGEND" of #92 !!!!! I will miss him dearly as he was one of the BEST to adorn a Black & Gold uniform, bar none. The memories he created for our entertainment, the hard nose stare, the "brown's fan" tackle, the single handily taking over the ravens game, the HUGE *** super bowl touch down return, and the list can go on and on.......... YES he will be missed. I wish him well in his life's work or future career, unless he is playing against us. I won't speculate the departure as it's being said it was amicable and i accept that. If he ends up a cheater that will be a very hard pill but also his choice to make. GOD Speed DEBO and thank you.

Salute the nation and James Harrison

If they get him, Bellicheat will find a way to utilize his skills, he can still rush the passer and stop the run... two things the patriots struggle with,

*gets on phone, calls coach tomlin*

"yeah, coach T? it's me, Omar10213245 from the Steelernation boards, yeah, the one you always read. anyway, i think you need to sign this SanDiegoSteeler poster, guy claims to have heart like Deebo...yes, that's what he said! ok...ok......alright.......right, but..bu-.....k.....got it" *hangs up phone*

he said for me to quit calling him.

We've been through this breakup before... now hopefully this is for good! Got to get beyond the Cowher players! Harrison was not a contributer. Services were appreciated now it's time to get that seventh Lombardi

Did the Joe Fan pick Jarvis Jones? I the Joe Fan would have dumped him after year two. I the Joe fan would NOT PLAY Mike Mitchell. Hes ****** terrible.

maybe the Joe Fan should work towards a career as a scout/front office member for an NFL franchise? I mean, seems like Joe Fan has it all figured out

We need the players like Rod Woodson and the Troy and Ryan Clark when we had those guys QB would not even think about throwing to the side. Draft some players like that Ryan is the only player that has that killer instinct. Bring them back as coaches. For Burns and Davis

No but dont tell me these guys have it figured out. They dont. I cant forsee Harrison getting a game day hat. Fine. James thank you for your service. Unless there is an injury you wont play. Now I will release Justin Hunter, Dan Mccullers or one of eight guys on the practice roster who they will invite to training camp and then release again. I sure as hell dont dangle out James Harrison to go win a title with the ****** Patriots. Maybe I cant get a job as a scout/FO. Maybe I dont have it all figured out. But watch this **** go down.

oh the for the love of God, give it a rest.

"he's dead to me" "I don't know if I still have it in me, *snivel*"

The NFL has become garbage. The Steelers always seemed to be more principled than most of the other teams. Then Tomlin brought in Vick. Principles no longer were at play. Now they cut Harrison at this point in the season after benching him for most of the season. Way to treat the one of the best LB's ever. I've been a fan since 72. The team I have loved for my entire lifetime is going to ****. I can at least vent about it. Give it a rest.

Joe fan thought Kordell was garbage but our esteemed coaching staff thought he was the ****. Yeah. They've always been awesome.

Truth is, it was a dumb move...unless there's something else up. The one thing I know for sure is Deebo can cover 5 yards better than any other player we have at the position presently. I am a huge Watt fan and I believe he will get much better. He isn't there yet. What I don't like is a bunch of us "fans" saying he can't cover and that's why he isn't out there. When Butler said it, it means something...and he did, kinda. We don't have our OLBs running more than 10-15 yards down the field covering anyone.

As for the Gronk thing, sure, he could be the ONLY guy to knock him out of his pattern BUT the Cheats already figured that out. They split Gronk wide, they have him run out of the backfield, they have him motion across the defense, etc.

We can't eliminate Gronk! Nobody really has since Buffalo did it a few years ago when "Footsie" was their coach. The ONLY reason he only blows up against some teams is because the others can't shut down the REST of the Cheats game. They don't need to go to Gronk. They have their backs coming out of the backfield eating up 5-10 yards a pop. That is their game. Sprinkle in a few deep passes to back the safety out of the box and go back to the dink-n-dunk to the backs and the crossers.

All I'm saying is, NONE of us has seen DEEBO used much for anything this year BUT the last time he was rated in coverage as an OLB...he was rated #1 in the league, not the team, the whole league at coverage at the edge position.

Maybe he wants to be home at Xmas? Maybe there is a plan? If there wasn't/isn't then my opinion of our coaches is worse than it already was. Ignorance is bliss BUT stupidity is forever!

This isn't James Harrison of 2008. Some of you act like he would be primed to have 12 sacks if they would've just let him play..

I believe in limited time, Harrison has as many sacks this season as Dupree. You were saying?

This is NOT how you treat your all-time defensive leader.

So yinz didn't like pro bowl caliber "slash"? Some of utes seem to have a short memory when it comes to players who actually had a spell of solid play. Sure he didn't end like one would want. But the guy wasn't a bust or garbage like you like to think of him. This is a example of joe fans memory sucking the suck.

If Harrison is picked up by the Pats**** , it is only for one reason.

Totally unbelieveable, Harrison is 100% in the gym on the field, big mistake especially now that we have clinched the AFC NORTH DIVISION, they may need him now Im thinking big mistake.

Harrison is the same player he was when final cuts were made four months ago. Those trained professionals deserve to be questioned by Joe Fan.

But, he has barely played all season, and they released him to free up a roster spot. What is inconsistent about that? He hasn’t contributed in a significant wY this season. Fans can only speculate what he “might” do, the coaches have led this team to a 13-3 record. They must be doing something right.

My only concern is whether he goes to NE and helps them. I have to assume they factored that into the equation when they made the decision to. It him.

Respectfully disagree. Politics often weighs into their decisions.
