Last 2 weeks at the Steelers games…lines for concessions are ridiculous. Wait at least an hour in line. I travel 3 hours to the game. On the turnpike, the service plazas which usually offer several food options are down to 1 with signs at the others saying they are closed due to lack of help.
Did the people who were previously working these jobs get better jobs? Are they still making more being unemployed? How are they making a living?

In the big scheme of things this is minute, but add all of these situations together…fast food, grocery stores, etc. ..it’s a big deal.

I am about to go off the grid.

Most of those people are not workers they are volunteers making money for their schools or charities only a few people in each stand are actual paid workers. It is probably hard to get those volunteers right now.

Turnpike workers though…different story. And typical of the nationwide issue.

There seems to be a lack of workers everywhere.

Does this mean I can slack off at work with impunity?

It’s because the federal government is still giving people an additional $600 a week unemployment under the guise of Wuhan virus relief. Many people in those types of service industry jobs are making more money by not working and collecting unemployment payments. As it turns out if you pay people to sit on *** and not work they will sit on *** and not work.

Another big problem is the lack of workers at the ports. There are 60+ cargo ships anchored outside of LA waiting to get unloaded. Usually there's one or two. Chemical prices are skyrocketing due to lack of supply. Even something as simple as an IBC or "tote" is damn near impossible to get right now. The cost of what I sell overseas has gone up by $1.30 per gallon just for this packaging alone. Production is delayed because of lack of workers. And trucking is still a nightmare. Get back to work, you freeloading *****!

The wife and I were shopping and she got hungry for pancakes so we stopped at IHOP. There was 2 cooks and 1 waiter. The waiter was also the cashier. Horrible food, you could tell the gravy has been reheated for a few days.

We were also in the drive through at Wendy's 10 cars deep and had some lady pull up next to us to inform us that they are shutting down due to being overwhelmed. The Arby's right across the parking lot was closed due to not having anyone available to work.

**** is getting real.

My truck is getting rustproofed today so Mrs. Burgundy drove me to work. Tuesdays one of our dogs goes to doggy daycare. Sign on the door saying sorry, we have to close on Saturdays due to worker shortage. Dry cleaners I use is closed on Wednesdays, same reason. Worst is the Dunkin Donuts next to my office which has been drive-up only for a while and today I have no vehicle to drive up in.

It’s here in Albuquerque too. Government made everyone comfy on shutdowns

Simple math. Figure out if the amount you can make on unemployment is a livable wage and if so... call in with the 'Rona indefinitely.

Domino effects. First as other stated, when your getting that free money and living off the govt teet making more. Why the **** work. This is your typical service job, restaurant, and I’d even toss in low end healthcare staff.

Next you make mandated poke. The people from above were “**** I’ll get my cake from the govt but still work” but your making do this? Duck it I’m out.

Fear machine media. Until the fear machine stops this bs agenda, there will be a large portion of folks gripping their window drapes and won’t come out.

All I know is the bars I frequent are packed! Tons of staff and tons of customers. I have had the big chain restaurants with no staff, empty and 40 min wait bc of no staff.

Now we are adding no HC staff, police, and I’m sure this will continue to extend to other responders.

We've had product at the ports now going on months because of this. Buying pallets has become a nightmare. So many different industries being affected by this.

That ended months ago in Ohio and has made little difference.

Gonna suck for these free loaders when they can't get their Door Dash.
Mrs. Burgundy drives Lyft on Saturdays and has been making bank for several months since there are many less drivers. $200 to $300 in 6 to 8 hours.

That is because of all of the other programs still in effect. Even though the eviction mandate has stopped, there are TONS of state and federal programs to help people pay their rent, utilities...etc. If you only have to pay for groceries and are still making 200 a week on standard unemployment, you can go on for quite a while without working.

So, we are already socialists.

Between the mandates that most public companies seem to be on the verge of implementing at their manufacturing facilities and the supply chain debacle...

We are looking at potential crash of the market .

Protect your assets men...

This. You don’t have to pay rent anymore. Bank!
