Anyone else catch the Eagles game tonight? Holy crap, I'm so glad we don't have to play them. People ride the jocks of the Seahawks, but I think the Eagles would take them, even with a horrible run defense against Lynch.

Great game by Sproles. We got a little guy like that too, don't we?

I caught the second half. It was a great game until the officials took a huge raunchy dump in the punch bowl at the end. The Colts were screwed big time.

How an intended receiver having his jersey in the process of being ripped off is not flagged with today's rules I have no idea. The flag on a non existent horse collar was even worse.

With that being said, that two back set with McCoy and Sproles just isn't fair, as it pretty ensures gross mismatches somewhere.

I like our dope smoking backfield. If we could get some legit blocking, we could have that great two back set, as well.

I picked Eagles v Cinci in the superbowl on another, non-football board.

Boo hoo - we lost ONE GAME...The sky is falling...

think about how easy we could be 0-2 right now. does anyone think that if we miss that last second field goal we would have actually won that game? with the way the second half went I personally don't think it would have mattered who got the ball first in OT, we would be setting at 0-2 right now looking at 0-3..

But that isn't what happened. What DID happen is that we won the game.

The next week that ****** clowns team we allowed to score 27 points, scored 26 against NO. Maybe NO sucks, too, I didn't watch the game.

A shitload of what-ifs can be had. If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.

Fillies are fun to watch... Mnf was some good football

Love the way Foles plays...nothing special, just gets it done....

They lack talent, but the team busts their ***** to play...gotta ;love that.

We had a lot of close, "if we only had made one play" type losses last year. At the end of the year, those close losses counted just as much as they would have had we been getting smashed. The same is true in reverse. This ain't college (thank goodness). There are no stupid polls or committees involved.

Close losses at least look like they can be improved on, blow outs on the other hand look hopeless

A blow out is hardly what happened. We got beat, and beat ourselves mostly. It's not the Ravens went off, Flacco had 166 yards, total yardage was close... what wasn't close was the fact that they got FIVE first downs from penalties. FIVE! We kept most of their drives alive. We had 2 fumbles, one cost us points, and one put them in FG range just by recovering (which is all they got). So I'm sorry, I don't buy the "blow out" mentality for that game. It was disappointing, but that's what can be expected from a Thursday night game on the road. Especially so early in the season.

So you expected it? I don't remember you saying anything like that before the game.

I didn't say anything before the Ravens game. In fact leading up to the game, the only thing I said to anyone about it was "I hate Thursday games". You will also not see me post in the "official prediction" threads. I was disappointed we lost, but I wasn't heartbroken to the point of some of the comments on the board. I can think rationally for myself, and I'm reserving judgement a little past the second game of the season on a short week before I brand the year a bust.

I'm sure everyone on here can think rationally for themselves. It's not very difficult.

It's really easy to talk about a game in hindsight. I've reserved judgment until the end of the season. But I can talk about individual games and individual players.

yup, and I have been as well. And I think my breakdown of the Ravens game is pretty accurate. We lost, it wasn't pretty, but it wasn't a blowout. They aren't heaps better than us, I don't think they are better at all. They just didn't make mistakes like we did. We set them up first and goal on their first drive because Cortez grabbed and pulled Smith the entire route he ran. On another drive we hand them two personal foul penalties (not that I agree with either one of them, but they were borderline calls). Later, they are gifted another 15 yards because Mitchell's hand touches S.Smith's facemask. That's four first downs, three of them giving them almost 60 yards, and another giving them 4 more shots from the one after our D made a good stand.

The Ravens didn't blow us out, we shot ourselves in the foot repeatedly. Handed them yards, handed them the ball, didn't execute at all. We also missed two int's. But at the same time, that's why I hate Thursday games. When you have to make several changes and adjustments, plus get a gameplan in for a new team, three days just isn't enough time to do it.

Losing by 20 points is a blowout. No matter how the other team beats you by 20 if they beat you by 20 they have blown you out.

I strongly disagree, in fact most on this board would strongly disagree if it would have been the other way around. There would be threads about how they moved the ball on us, and we only won because we were handed good field position, that we didn't play well at all. So you can think we got blown out, I don't agree with that assessment at all. It DOES matter how the team beats you when looking at the bigger picture. Just like we have threads bitching that we ONLY beat the Browns by 3.
